Have been here a few times, and surprised I've never left a review. Came here to meet friends for lunch. Seated quickly and our server was so very pleasant! The sushi bar was already busy, even though the dining room was quiet. I see that they were working on take out orders. Today's lunch was a simple rainbow sushi. It was served in a good amount of time and was delicious! Others had tuna sushi and chicken teriyaki. They also enjoyed! Highly recommend! Haven't been to Young's in many years, when he was in his old location. I got a specialty roll (the Boston), calamari and octopus salad. Pretty disappointed with the roll, the rice was gushy, tasted okay. The calamari was way over breaded. The octopus salad was good but not a lot there. Plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger. read more

Instead of complaining, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and next order I simply asked for ingredients to not be so ripe/ old. As soon I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome! Workers are very polite and the food came out fast. I got the Phoenix roll and it was phenomenal - would get it again! This is a great little sushi place in downtown Willoughby. One perk is that they have a parking lot around back, which is helpful since spots can sometimes be limited. The food itself is good quality. Unlike most sushi places there is no option to just pick a roll or 2 and get a ginger dressing salad and miso soup. This means that it costs a bit more to eat here and while the food is good, the tab will be a bit higher than it should be for what you get. They do have a drink menu, but I've yet to be impressed by any of their cocktails. The service is usually pleasant. The waitstaff is prompt about checking on you and getting refills where needed. Overall, this place is a solid 4. I have been many times and will continue to go back when I get the hankering for some pricey sushi. read more

The service was great - the two Korean women were nice and came and asked if I needed anything. The house salad with ginger dressing was good. The wasabi was good. The pickled ginger, however, tasted old. Unfortunately, the sushi rice was overly soft, under-seasoned (should have rice vinegar, sugar and salt - I couldn't taste any of these), and - sorry to say - all of the rolls tasted just like *the smell of a pet store.* I don't know why. My friend had told me about this sushi restaurant in Willoughby that is a complete hole in the wall. Her words "You will not find better sushi on the east side of Cleveland then Young's". We went for a girls night and she was not wrong. This place may not have a ton of room or the best decor, but when you just want delicious sushi, then this is your place. We have been back so many times since and my friend actually goes twice a week. We cannot help it but it tastes so fresh and you can see them making it as well! I like the food at Young Sushi and generally have a good experience; however, last night was different as the person taking calls on the take out line was very unprofessional. I go there once/week for take out and get the chicken teriyaki, and every time I substitute the salad for a miso soup. When ordering last night a grumpy gentlemen (who clearly shouldn't be in the customer service business) told me when I was ordering "we don't do substitutions here" and when I told him I do this each time I order, he then asked "would you just like to cancel your order?" I couldn't have the miso soup that was included because it had fish in it, which is okay. 9.50 for 2 different veggie sushies (6 per roll), a salad, and potstickers. Holy sticky rice! The new location is great! It's much closer to the main drag of downtown Willoughby, and probably three times the size of their old restaurant. Young's has an extensive menu of both sushi and non sushi options (teriyaki dinners, udon, pork katsu, bulgogi, Korean-style wings). The service is friendly, and our food was delicious. There's also a small parking lot in the back that can fit about seven cars, and it looks like they'll have space to set up an outdoor patio in the summer. Young's is definitely worth a visit if you're craving yummy sushi in NE Ohio. read more
