Great value. It's just like the hibachi that costs 3 times as much. Call ahead and get take out. The ginger sauce is not automatically included so if you like that be sure to ask! I think its .50 cents. Totally reasonable to charge for sauce when the food is fresh, delicious and affordable. It's worth a visit if you like hibachi but don't feel like going to a hibachi restaurant and hearing happy birthday 12 times.

The restaurant is in a rough area but it makes up for that with food. The food over all is delicious very tasty. The workers do their best to please the customer. Wasabi is a branch of Sakura thats located on 55th. The guys decided to open another store. This is the exact same food it's Sakura. I normally get the chicken and shrimp half noodles half rice. This is Benihana without the higher prices. I totally recommend this place.

So, I quickly messaged a good friend on December 30th (afternoon) and we planned to arrive for dinner. DINNER - The style is TAPAS so the food is small plates. Dinner was delicious. My friend and I ordered several dishes to share including sides (mushrooms, broccolini, and eggplant), rice, and 2 meats (sirloin steak and chicken skewers). The flavour was rich enough but not too strong. Pricing is slightly high but the quality is great. It's sad that the investor decided to close down this Japanese restaurant so early. They only opened in July 2025 so after 6 months they are closing. It takes time for a restaurant to see growth in customer base and money. Perhaps they didn't advertise well enough but whatever the case, I'm glad I got to try their food. Customer service was amazing. My friend and I were greeted when we arrived and were checked on throughout the night. **** GOAL of 365 reviews in 2025 - 60/365 total reviews in 2025 - 841 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 December 2025

We tried 6 dishes and 2 sashimi dishes and it was a perfect amount of food for 3 people. The food came out extraordinary fast too I was shocked. They were busy but efficient, I was quite impressed. The must haves are the chicken rice bowl, the yellowtail, and the beef cheek. I love the wide variety of food options for vegetarians and meat lovers. I will say, the food still needs some fine tuning. The flash fried octopus had a weird texture and the sauce was way too overpowering. The squash was good but didn't have anything that made it stand out than anything I could've made at home. Excited to come back to keep trying out more flavors!

First of all, the place is beautiful. You will want to stand and stare a minute when you first arrive, from the cherry blossoms overhead to the gorgeous art painted on the walls. We were welcomed immediately and seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, again this was no small task with a bit group at a very busy time. She made great recommendations and we started with several appetizers for the table: Crab rangoon Mozzarella stick, Goyza, and crunchy rice with avocado. They were all good and cooked to perfection, but the Crab Rangoon Mozzarella sticks were show stoppers. This is fun fusion at its finest, and everyone agreed we could have just lived on those. We had to put in sushi orders early as there was a bit of a backup with the kitchen, but our server did a great job of keeping us informed about the timing and made all the entrees work out so people getting hot dishes got them at the same time as people who ordered cold dishes. I had the sora roll which is another great fashion dish with a simple tempura shrimp and avocado roll upscaled by adding thin slices of wagyu beef, spicy mayo and dark sweet soy. I loved the combo. My wife had the peking duck and said it was fantastic with a good bit of flavor and a hint of kick, cooked to perfection so it didn't get dry. My son had the mushroom risotto which he said was very flavorful, and carried a bit of asian spiciness. Other people at the table had sushi, the katsu chicken, and the crab fried rice. No one was disappointed! Finally my wife and I split the smoked creme brûlée and all I can say is, you should save room for dessert because this was a fantastic spin on a classic! The only thing I would note is that it's not a quiet restaurant. Do not expect to have a hushed or private conversation here, but even with the big group I could still hear everyone, so it's not like it's ear splitting or anything. Honestly, every part of this experience impressed me and I would love to go back next time I'm in town.

Portion-wise, it was pretty skimpy for $50 but let's be honest, kids, we weren't here for value. The presentation, variety, novelty and the surprise were what brought us here. If you're an adventurous foodie with no food allergies, then by all means get this! I think this might've been too adventurous even for my well traveled friend! Our last "skewer" was some skinny frog legs. I asked my friend whether he wanted me to split the portion to which he said yes. As soon as I picked the darn thing up, the legs started wobbling and wriggling like a real frog and he immediately lost his appetite, hahahaha. It wasn't bad but one of the legs was really skinny so I would've preferred like a lamb skewer or 2 oysters or something equivalent. The seasonings for the veggies were all really bold, interesting and unique. The radish could've cooked for longer (they were still too crunchy). I had a bigger lunch that day so this was enough to fill me up and I didn't even finish my portion there. My friend had to order an additional appetizer of 6 mini shaomai (tasted like the frozen kind, nothing special) to get full though. I would come back again to try more things on the menu! The space inside is very small and dark. I did like that napkins and chopsticks were right on the table, however the napkins were rough paper towels you would find in public bathrooms. I had to use a bunch because I was lucky enough to eat the only spicy shishito peppers, lol.

When I opened the menu, I was sad to see the galbi lunch box - my former go-to - was no longer an option. So I had to settle for one of the other lunch boxes - spicy pork bulgogi. Though the spicy pork bulgogi wasn't as delicious as the galbi (I LOVE Ha Ahn's galbi), it was still a delight to my taste-buds. Regular bulgogi can sometimes be a little too sweet for me, but the spice offered a nice contrast and balance to the sweetness of the meat, which was tender and juicy. In addition to a sizeable portion of pork, my lunch box came with a salad, a crispy mandu, kimchi, seaweed salad, and a scoop of steamed white rice. It was more than enough food to leave me satisfied, especially when combined with the fresh banchan, which included some greens, more kimchi, some sort of steamed egg dish, spicy daikon, and sliced fish cakes. Along with great food, the restaurant provided great service. Our server kept the refills of hot tea (complimentary!) coming. But please bring back the galbi lunch box!!
