Great value. It's just like the hibachi that costs 3 times as much. Call ahead and get take out. The ginger sauce is not automatically included so if you like that be sure to ask! I think its .50 cents. Totally reasonable to charge for sauce when the food is fresh, delicious and affordable. It's worth a visit if you like hibachi but don't feel like going to a hibachi restaurant and hearing happy birthday 12 times.

The restaurant is in a rough area but it makes up for that with food. The food over all is delicious very tasty. The workers do their best to please the customer. Wasabi is a branch of Sakura thats located on 55th. The guys decided to open another store. This is the exact same food it's Sakura. I normally get the chicken and shrimp half noodles half rice. This is Benihana without the higher prices. I totally recommend this place.

Great value for the price, tasty but there are no seats available! You must buy to go and it's in very dangerous place in town!

I always order the hibachi (light onions) and switch up the meat depending on how I'm feeling.

So, I quickly messaged a good friend on December 30th (afternoon) and we planned to arrive for dinner. DINNER - The style is TAPAS so the food is small plates. Dinner was delicious. My friend and I ordered several dishes to share including sides (mushrooms, broccolini, and eggplant), rice, and 2 meats (sirloin steak and chicken skewers). The flavour was rich enough but not too strong. Pricing is slightly high but the quality is great. It's sad that the investor decided to close down this Japanese restaurant so early. They only opened in July 2025 so after 6 months they are closing. It takes time for a restaurant to see growth in customer base and money. Perhaps they didn't advertise well enough but whatever the case, I'm glad I got to try their food. Customer service was amazing. My friend and I were greeted when we arrived and were checked on throughout the night. **** GOAL of 365 reviews in 2025 - 60/365 total reviews in 2025 - 841 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 December 2025

We tried 6 dishes and 2 sashimi dishes and it was a perfect amount of food for 3 people. The food came out extraordinary fast too I was shocked. They were busy but efficient, I was quite impressed. The must haves are the chicken rice bowl, the yellowtail, and the beef cheek. I love the wide variety of food options for vegetarians and meat lovers. I will say, the food still needs some fine tuning. The flash fried octopus had a weird texture and the sauce was way too overpowering. The squash was good but didn't have anything that made it stand out than anything I could've made at home. Excited to come back to keep trying out more flavors!

Before I go on with this review, I just want to point out that Kung Fu Tea has a separate business…read morelisting so please review those guys there. I see a handful of Kung Fu Tea reviews on here which doesn't belong. Anyways, been here several times already and can honestly say that the food and service is consistent every time! Appetizers I have tried are Onion Soup and Gyoza. Side orders I have tried are Shrimp Tempura and Brown Rice. Sushi that I have tried are Little Delicious Roll, Spider Roll, Ohio Roll, and Kenko Roll. The Teriyaki I have gotten the 3 item option of Shrimp, Chicken, and Beef. The Onion Soup($1.95) is basically Miso Soup with crispy fried onions which is what exactly it tastes like. Pretty good if you like onions. The Gyoza($4.95) on the menu it says it's a shrimp pot sticker but on my receipt is says chicken. Whatever it is, it's just your basic steamed pot sticker that is pan fried on one side. Tastes good especially when you dip it in the gyoza sauce that comes with it. The Shrimp Tempura($2) was a bit disappointing. The one I got was definitely not fresh for it wasn't even lukewarm. At least it was a little bit crispy but the fact that it was obviously not freshly cooked was a major turn off and will probably not order again. The Brown Rice($1.50) is a good alternative to white rice. Same flavor but healthier for you. The Little Delicious Roll($13.95), Spicy Tuna, Imitation Crab, Cream Cheese, Avocado, and Cucumber. Lightly fried and then topped with Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce. There's nothing little about this roll. Tastes best as soon as it is served to you. Had some leftovers for breakfast, was good but did not taste as good when it was freshly made. The Spider Roll($11.95), Soft Shell Crab, Radish Sprout, Avocado, and Cucumber. Topped with Wasabi Mayo and Eel Sauce. This roll was just ok. I have had better Spider Rolls elsewhere. The Ohio Roll($10.95), Shrimp, Imitation Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, and Asparagus. Topped with Wasabi Mayo. What made this roll stand out is the asparagus. It was decent. The Kenko Roll($12.95) Shrimp Tempura, Imitation Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, and Cream Cheese. Wrapped in Soy Paper with Miso Glaze. This roll has good flavor and is just as good served after refrigeration. The common theme for all these rolls is that they contain most of the same ingredients except for 1 or 2 items. My favorites are the Kenko and Litlle Sushi Roll. The Teriyaki Bowl($13.95 for 3 items) this is the price for 3 items on their menu but on my receipt it says $15.95 plus $2 each for Shrimp and Beef which doesn't make any sense. Of course I opted for all 3 meats. Comes with veggies and white or brown rice. I opted for no rice, just all veggies. I added sauteed mushrooms one time for an extra $1.50. This bowl is just big enough to satisfy your appetite. The teriyaki sauce they throw on top gives it the good flavor you expect. Service wise, when you come in, if you are wanting sushi, you order on the left side of the counter and everything else you want to order, including Kung Fu Drinks, are towards the right. Make sure you mention your sushi order when ordering other things. You pay and then they call out your name when your order is ready. Overall, I have been coming here 1 to 2 times a week as part of my dinner rotation since I am working a contract over at the the University Hospital just a block away. Will definitely miss this place once my contract is up. Yelp 2022 Review #41 892 overall

Portion-wise, it was pretty skimpy for $50 but let's be honest, kids, we weren't here for value. The presentation, variety, novelty and the surprise were what brought us here. If you're an adventurous foodie with no food allergies, then by all means get this! I think this might've been too adventurous even for my well traveled friend! Our last "skewer" was some skinny frog legs. I asked my friend whether he wanted me to split the portion to which he said yes. As soon as I picked the darn thing up, the legs started wobbling and wriggling like a real frog and he immediately lost his appetite, hahahaha. It wasn't bad but one of the legs was really skinny so I would've preferred like a lamb skewer or 2 oysters or something equivalent. The seasonings for the veggies were all really bold, interesting and unique. The radish could've cooked for longer (they were still too crunchy). I had a bigger lunch that day so this was enough to fill me up and I didn't even finish my portion there. My friend had to order an additional appetizer of 6 mini shaomai (tasted like the frozen kind, nothing special) to get full though. I would come back again to try more things on the menu! The space inside is very small and dark. I did like that napkins and chopsticks were right on the table, however the napkins were rough paper towels you would find in public bathrooms. I had to use a bunch because I was lucky enough to eat the only spicy shishito peppers, lol.

Located in Tremont, the final boss of Cleveland hipster neighborhoods, so expect stylish beanies and very intentional footwear.
