Mary, and now Melissa (who replaced Lisa, who departed for Florida) always know exactly how to tame my mangled head of hair. I never had a "it will grow back - eventually" coif from them (unlike a few places more local to me that I went to in an emergency). The space is clean, cheery, and you're always greeted with a smile. Their base clientele is mostly Villagers, and about equally men to women. Sometimes, there's a wait, but there's a lot of magazines (some of them recent), the daily paper, and a television to help pass the time. I have grown dependent upon them to keep my hair looking great, and I will go no where else when I need a cut before I get a new book jacket photo since I don't have to worry about how it will turn out. My husband has had his hair cut by both Nick and Nicholas in Oxford and Shelton and when I say he goes in looking homeless and comes out looking like the cover of a GQ magazine..it's no exaggeration. Their lines are clean, the cuts are affordable and great quality; they do an AMAZING job here. I normally am the one that ends up making his appointment because he's so busy at work, but I love the online appointment system - it's really easy to use and gives you a lot of options to chose from time, date, and service wise. I came back this week for a pre-Christmas cut and it was nothing short of the perfect haircut. The shop was clean, organized, and very welcoming. She said it was my fault for having hairspray in my hair ( I don't use hairspray) I was sitting there in shock at the poor customer service. The cut lasted 5 minutes- she did a horrible job. When I got up to leave she said I had way too much hair. If you go there do not go to the blond middle-aged stylist on the left . Jennifer was ready to go when I arrived at 2pm and started with a thorough wash, which was pleasant. The stylish all appear to really enjoy working together and helping their clients. She reviewed with me multiple times what type of blow out I was requesting and it came out terrific. Jennifer was very pleasant and easy to communicate with regarding what I wanted. Overall really happy with the blowout!
