Incredible experience! We came in after a very long day and were greated by a welcoming staff. We had a delicious bottle of wine along with steak tartare and octopus appetizers. I must confess that I wanted to try this restaurant on our upcoming trip to London because Stanley Tucci mentioned it as one of his favorite restaurants on his taste of Italy show. And boy was he right. From the moment we walked in, we started to relax and took in the ambiance. It's not pretentious or snobby at all. It's elegant, simple and beautiful. We were immediately seated at a very nice, quiet table and given menus. The selection was vast and made your mouth water. I started with the Crispy Squid and Chilli jam which was delicious and my wife had the Insalata Invernale which I don't know how it was because I didn't even get a taste. For the main course my wife got the Risotto Zafferano (superb) and I ordered the Fettuccine Ragu alla Bolognese. Let me just say that I LOVE Bolognese and theirs is the best I have ever had. They could have put the bowl back on the shelf because their wasn't a speck of sauce left. I must call out their sommelier. I work in the wine business and usually have no problem picking a wine. But when he came over, we broke into a 10 minute discussion about a number of the wines on the list and what would pair well. He wasn't condescending like so many sommeliers can be. He was an absolute delight. We ordered a variety that I had never even heard of and I had to take a picture of the bottle to try to get it at home. I give them 3 stars because the food was pretty good. I had safe on risotto with asparagus. Like 1 spear cut in 1/2 lengthwise with morelle mushrooms 3 cut in 1/2 length wise. Guess that's how they do it. Charges 24.00 pounds But the clincher was the waiter comes over takes your order. The other staff deliver the food and drinks, ask how everything is and the waiter only comes over to serve you the hill at the end. Never asked if everything was good. Plus he spent so much more time with the table adjacent us that ordered 2 bottles of wine. I mean come on like we were second class citizens. Just saying. read more

After hearing Stanley Tucci's recommendation, we have decided to celebrate our anniversary at Sartoria. Everybody was very attentive and gave us a lovely quiet table We order a few appetizers which were very average and very scarce, specially the octopus For mains we order pasta, mine was a pasta with lobster and my husband's was pasta with prawns. My pasta (£36) had literally 3 one centimeter square pieces of lobster, kind of chewy and sitting in some kind of chilly oil, so strong that overpowered the whole dish tasting nothing like lobster. My husband's pasta dish (£36) was absolutely tasteless! Maybe a hint of oil and salt with a paste of cold minced prawns on top After getting home and doing some reading, we learned Chef Francesco Mazzei doesnot work for them any longer and goodness it shows! I quite like to randomly ask google about the 'best in London' - it often ends with a nice culinary experience. And so when asked about the Capitals best tiramisu I was directed to Sartoria, an elegant restaurant in Mayfair owned by the renowned Francesco Mazzei. The dessert arrived beautifully presented in a silver cup with perfectly even coating of cocoa powder. I really enjoy tiramisu since it can deliver not only in taste but also in smell. Delicate hint of coffee hidden behind the cocoa pungency is inviting in the most decadent way. The top layer of sweet fluffy mascarpone plays well against the natural bitterness of the cocoa. The coffee-soaked biscuits are so soft its not a problem to scoop them with the spoon. Delightful. Well, with the tiramisu delivering such excellency it was only natural to go for another round. Quick search on the web and a couple of minutes later I am watching as fluffy custard is being poured into my champagne coupe. Classically made zabaglione features whipped egg yolks sweetened with sugar and late harvest wine, usually muscat. It turns out I ordered a portion for two - ups, what a fu****g shame. read more

This wasn't a cheap meal and though I thought about it really hard, I really couldn't find a reason not to give it the full monty, 5 stars. I don't think it has a Michelin star but I can't understand why. The service, food and ambiance were top shelf and we had an amazing time. The onnnnnnnly downside was that one of the reasons we decided to try it out was the famed tiramisu and they had run out. However, we came late (10:30) so it's understandable. I will definitely be going back to try it though. The focus was the food. The flavours were exciting and the textures were perfect. After the first course, I was buzzing in anticipation for the next course and I can give no higher praise than that. Go to Sartoria before it gets its star and the crowds and prices go up. read more

So we came here because a magazine (possibly time out or ES) had listed it as having the best tiramisu in London. Ambience was very smart and sophisticated but also relaxed on a Saturday night. The bread basket was excellent - parmesan bread sticks and other fresh bread. To start we shared a burrata salad with incredible tomatoes (imported from italy) and delicious creamy burrata. For main I had a simply excellent lobster tagliolini. It was not cheap at £28 but it was a generous portion of lobster served in shell (but cut out so that it was easy to eat - something I really appreciate!). Tagliolini was perfectly cooked. For dessert.....they had run out of tiramisu! Very disappointing. But it means we'll have to return at some point. It gets 4 stars rather than 5 because: 1. Their vegetarian options are pretty limited 2. It's pricey (though good quality) 3. They ran out of tiramisu! read more

Described on their website as a stylish Italian restaurant in the heart of London's Mayfair on Savile Row. Its bright, modern and just absolutely gorgeous. Visited here February 2014 as was brought here for lunch on a work visit to London. I wasn't told I was going here beforehand and if I had looked it up I think I would have been quite intimidated before going there... The staff are attentive. We had a great seat beside the window which was perfect for people watching if the conversation dried up (It didn't!) and the food is amazing. Mains are £22 -£45. I chose the Monkfish which was cooked perfectly. I didn't have wine with lunch as it was before a meeting but I did notice that their wine list was impressive. Would I go back? Absolutely! After all I didn't have dessert that day and from what I've seen online they look droolworthy! read more

The only reason I chose this place for dinner was the availability of a table for 5 one day before. It seems to be impossible lately to book any nice restaurant in London in a space of a day or two. Despite not having more than 4 stars on google reviews, I reserved it because we craved good Italian. Arriving at Sartoria there was no hostess to greet and seat us (happened aGain when leaving) We waited for over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence the The maitre was in a hurry to explain some items on menu and to take order We specified that the three pasta dishes were to share and each one ordered a main course When pasta was served I asked the maitre to put some in my dad's plate and he crossly said this is a service they don't provide (how rude!) Then the main courses came and the waitress insisted on putting the plates in the middle of the table (this is to share, she said) I told her twice that those are main courses and each person need to cut the beef and for that reason it needs to be served in front of the human being and she was angry and said NO this is to share' what the hell! After hearing NO for two times I'm scolding voice I had to raise my tone and order her to put the plates in front of each individual It was hard during the two hours we spent not enjoying the meal to catch eye of any of the waiters we needed forks at some point and salt And no one was there to acknowledge us ! Not a full review this time as I only went for business drinks at around 5pm. The refurbishment carried out is nice and it was not overly busy so i expected much better service. Service was slow and staff not attentive i am afraid with little or no eye contact. I ordered an orange juice which came in one of the smallest glasses i have seen and yes it was fresh but all pulp so you cannot drink it. I finally after trying to get staffs attention was able to complain and ask for a coke a cola which no one can mess up and rather than be sorry i was told this is how fresh orange juice is served. Funny as i usually like to drink my orange juice not chew it. When staff try to justify something that is wrong without even trying it i dont really feel comfortable about spending money or brining my friends or business contacts along. A shame really as i would love to come back to try the food and give a full review but given there are so many other places in London for me to bring to you i think this is now going to the bottom of the list. At 5pm with only a few tables occupied i am afraid the service and attitude was not up to par. I cannot fault the decor however. read more

I always get a little nervous when I see a menu without prices (unless it's a street vendor - that's a whole different ballpark). Not that I mind paying for a great meal, but it instills a certain anxiety, a "will this meal live up to what will surely be the price of a new wardrobe" type of anxiety. Sartoria is what I expected an Italian restaurant on Saville Row to be like: tables of hushed diners wearing suits, sipping wine recommended by a sommelier decked out in a vest and tails. They pull the chairs out to seat you. They bring around a bread basket with no fewer than 6 types of bread. The bottled water (don't dare to order tap) is likely from some remote pristine stream. I'm okay with all the pomp as long as the food keeps pace. In this case, I felt it fell flat. My asparagus and truffle risotto was bland and a little overcooked; it looked like something I might have reheated from Waitrose. The goat cheese salad my friend ordered was literally a hunk of melted goat cheese on top of some French beans. That said, the service was attentive throughout. If you need to organise a business lunch where someone else is paying, Sartoria is a safe bet. If you're looking for a nice meal, there are plenty of better options. read more

I went there for corporate celebration, so stayed in one of their private dining rooms. The food was good. I had octopus with mange tout and potatoes, which was fresh, perfectly cooked with very nice taste palette. For the mains I've ordered sea bream, which was ok, but a bit too 'fishy' for me - I don't like fish which pounds you with the smell of fish straightaway! I tried a bit of my colleague's lamb and it was perfection. The best lamb i've tasted which wasn't homecooked. Dessert. It deserves a separate paragraph. It was absolutely amazing - semifreddo - which is something between mousse and ice-cream with pine-nuts and pistachios, and veins of cherry compote. Oh I will come back - just for dessert! Wine was good, not sure which one it was, but I guess it's up to your preference, I prefer thick sweet wines, they served a dry version of it. The champagne, marzipan sweets and coffee after, perfectly complemented each other. Atmosphere - not sure, as we were separated from the rest of the restaurant, so it was bright and cool. The rest of dining hall was dark and quite hot with ghosts of waiters flowing around. Overall, it was a good experience - perfect for business meetings, as the food and catering are up to a high standard. I'm not sure how it is in the dining area, but our waiters were very attentive, although the sommelier confused me with a man for my short hair and a shirt and poured my champagne with men! I had a pre-theatre 3 course menu here and I was amazed with the quality and the portions. Food: -Starter: Bucatini all'amatriciana. Since this is a started a expected a small portion. I was happily surprised when I saw it. It seemed like my main dish and I was worried how I would have room for the full three course menu! This dish was extremely tasty and I would definitely recommend it! -Main: Polpette piccanti con crostino e burrata (Spiced meat balls bread crouton and burrata). This was also very good. A bit to spicy for my liking though. If you like spicy food this is a dish you should try. There were 4-5 medium sized meatballs in a 'soup' of tomato sauce.This was tasty but not my favourite dish. -Dessert: All the options for dessert look amazing. I opted for Gelato alla stracciatella which was 2 generous scoops of gelato. It was very tasty and there were actually chocolate bits in there! Service: The service was impeccable. All the staff were polite and really took care of use! I was so surprised how attentive they were. I was impressed with the bread they initially brought. They kept on topping up through out our meal! Very impressed! Great service! Price: You get great value through the set menu! We also got a glass of prosseco as part of the deal. Decor: It is classic and elegant. We stumbled on Sartoria one evening last week, quite by accident. The restaurant is a bit tucked away on a street corner but worth the walk. Decor inside is contemporary and comfortable; in spite of the large size of the room, it is a very good place for quiet conversation. Food is a mixture of traditional and contemporary Italian with an international twist. I had a fantastic starter of salt beef, blood orange and spinach salad. My main course of pollock was a bit bland, but the beef was superb and the lobster pasta dish looked just as great. Together with my wife, we spent our date nights at the various restaurants in London. I came across Sartoria in a Bloomberg article about truffle which sparked my interest. We had three courses each and the winner was the white chocolate soup with truffle ice cream. It was worth every pound it cost (it's on their separate truffle menu which one needs to ask for). We took my boss to Italian Restaurant Sartoria for a farewell lunch using the 2 courses for £15 offer on toptable. The restaurant has an elegant interior and rather a corporate feel due to the number of suits dining there! I chose a kind of pasta parcel with tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella which was divine. Those who chose the lamb were a little disappointed with the portion size I think but it tasted good. For dessert I had the best Tiramisu I've tasted - I would go back for that alone! Absolutely divine. Classic & traditional Italian high end restaurant. The setting was great in the corner of Saville row, expansive dining area with a private cordoned off section for functions. The decor is homely giving it a very relaxed feel to the restaurant without making it too slack. Sharp upholstery etc. the staff are mostly Italian which I value a lot, however the Michelin star chef is German(we'll let him off as the good is amazing) Delightful menu, extensive wine list and the bread & olives were great too! The waiter pointing out the olive oil was pressed in Puglia-little detail like that stands it out in my opinion. Not cheap, but didn't mind laying for a wonderful experience. My husband took me to Sartoria for a birthday treat that turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. Not only was the food here incredibly mediocre (it's not a good sign when the bread and olive oil is the highlight of your meal) but they gave my husband food poisoning. A complaint to the restaurant didn't even warrant a response. They forwarded it straight on to a 'consultant' who made us fill out a detailed form only to inform us that it couldn't possibly have been the restaurant that made him sick. It felt very much like they were just desperate to cover their backs, when all we really wanted was an apology. But even if not for the food poisoning I would never have recommended this restaurant as it is both average and overpriced. There are so many amazing restaurants in London - don't waste your money on this one! read more

I was part of a large hen party re-booked into Sartoria last-minute after a problem at a sister restaurant and was blown away with how accommodating Leonardo and his colleagues were. With no notice they prepared us a private room, a delicious menu and gave us the most wonderful welcome despite the fact that we were a large, loud hen party in a stylish, chic and quiet restaurant! They really made us feel at home and took such good care of us, even putting up with some rowdy games with amazing good grace. It is rare to come across such excellent customer service, especially when paired with really great food, a beautiful atmosphere and all with half an hour notice! Very elegant interior, quiet and discreet - ideal for a business lunch and food that could not be faulted!

No stars for the food here. We had the Veal Milanese for 2 at the price of 66 pounds. Four of shared the meat and all of us said something was off. It was sour. Either the oil was stale and old or the same oil is used to fry fish or the meat was off. The staff told us there was nothing wrong with it. So while they were planning to charge us they brought us a complimentary dessert. We did not want dessert. Either don't charge us for bad food or pay for one of the bottles of wine we ordered. Instead they serve us a small scoop of ice cream on a bun. ??????!!!!!! Not Even an Italian dessert. Cheap and insulting. We went to Boccocinos in Mayfair tonight (around the corner nearby ) and had the best Veal Milanese for 34 pounds. Same size as Sartorias for half the price!!!! We would not recommend this place.
