She does offer a list of vendors, but if you are seeking more customized event planning, you will have to do a little more research on your own. Her florist, Michelle is great and her baker, Ora-Beth is terrific, but her tuxedo recommendation was sub-par. We selected our own photographer, videographer, make-up professionals and hairstylists. If you are willing to do a little or a lot of homework, then Sharon may be your person. Otherwise, there may be better options for the money and headaches.

Who can you rely on for help? We experienced all of these thoughts and feelings when we started to plan our own wedding. To add to our complexity, it was a destination wedding on the other side of the country. We knew we had to hire a wedding planner and there was no shortage of options in the Napa and Sonoma valley. We had a few calls with different planners, yet the minute we hung up the phone with Sharon Burns of Napa Valley Custom Events, we knew it was a done deal. We called her back within minutes and basically proposed to her to be our planner! It was a decision that felt so right; it proved to be the best decision of our entire wedding planning process. Sharon's experience, expertise and outstanding reviews all speak for themselves. She knows the business. She knows all the right people. She is well respected in the California wine region. She demands excellence from all those she works with. She has the ability to know when to fully support your wants and desires, while also adding in a dose of reality to your wedding dreams. As a gay couple, one may think we posses a level of expertise on design, flowers and fashion. Sharon quickly found out this was far from reality. She filled in all of the spots where we were "weak" and supported or molded all the thoughts and wants we had in areas that were our non-negotiables. She helped us build, manage and stick to our budget throughout the 13 months we worked together leading to our wedding day. She maintained our vendor contracts, worked hard in negotiating hotel wedding blocks and even managed most payments throughout the whole process. So many of the stresses and mundane tasks of wedding planning and execution weren't even on our radar as Sharon took care of them all. We were already floored by all of her work done leading up to our wedding; then THE DAY came. Sharon delivered even more then we could have imagined! She was at our venue for well over 13 hours preparing, organizing, leading and even calming us throughout the event. We worried about nothing and got to enjoy everything. She ensured our whole wedding party was in place when they needed to be, our families were calm and relaxed, and, of course, that we were both smiling and enjoying every aspect of our day. Sharon even made sure that we were eating and staying hydrated throughout the most memorable day of our lives. The day was simply perfect! So much of that joy has to do with Sharon Burns and Napa Valley Custom Events. We cannot speak highly enough about her; words do not do justice to the thanks she deserves. Thank you Sharon, you knocked it out of the park!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Andrea for an extravagant, Wicked-themed birthday celebration at the Grand Bay Hotel in San Francisco. As a DJ, I've been part of my fair share of complex productions--but this event? This one had layers. We're talking immersive design, multiple performances, theatrical moments, choreographed timing, lighting cues, and the kind of attention to detail that would make Broadway stage managers sweat. And yet--through every twist, change, last-minute curveball, and behind-the-scenes chaos--Andrea stayed calm, composed, and genuinely joyful. That smile never left her face. It wasn't just impressive; it was inspiring. What struck me most was Andrea's emotional intelligence and natural leadership. She wasn't just checking off a list--she was reading the room, checking in on vendors, comforting the family, and still had the foresight to ensure every beat of the evening landed with intention. For us as DJs, a successful event relies heavily on the planner's clarity, timing, and communication. Andrea excelled at all three. Her cues were crystal clear, her flexibility never compromised the bigger picture, and her collaboration felt seamless. It's rare to find someone who can hold both the creative and logistical sides of event production in perfect harmony. Andrea is that rare gem. And beyond the work, there's a real human connection there--a warmth that draws people in, makes vendors want to go above and beyond, and creates the kind of synergy that guests can feel, even if they don't see it. After this event, I'm not only grateful--I'm inspired. I genuinely hope to work with Andrea and Mia Emma Love Events more in the future. We signed Angela as our planner in May 2010 to help us with our Napa Valley destination wedding in October 2010. As we were planning our wedding from Asia and had less than 5 months til the big day, we needed a planner who was available and flexible to meet our demanding schedules. She claimed to be the "BEST PLANNER IN NAPA", provided us with "great" references, and assured us that she was very experienced in working with overseas clientele, so we paid our 50% of the fee to go ahead with Angela. (Note, she also emailed us that another party wanted to sign with her for an October 2010 event and given she has a quota of events she can do, we felt some time pressure... though, it was still our fault we didn't spend enough time to look around more thoroughly). Unfortunately, shortly after signing the contract we realized Angela was not right for us. We found out early on that her schedule was not very flexible to our needs and she was at times even unaware of the drastic time zone differences. Apart from canceling & re-scheduling several of our conference calls, she was unable to meet us for two separate in person appointments that we had flown in for from Asia. The first time was a brief business visit to the Bay Area, but given the short notice of our travel itinerary and not being her clients yet, we gave her the benefit of the doubt. But she was unavailable again when we planned to do another week long visit to the Bay Area/Napa to do our wedding site check and by that time, she was our planner. Maybe she was stretched too thin, or we were too far away, or we were not considered a big budget wedding, or that she often flies back and forth between Napa and southern California...but nonetheless something was wrong. Within the first week of signing on, Angela was out of pocket for the first few days, then she emailed to reschedule our conference calls that week and by the end of the week, we were told she would not be able to accommodate us when we were in town for our site check. With the distance and impending time crunch until the wedding, it was at that moment that we realized this was not going to work out and that Angela would not be able to provide the service we needed. We explained this to her over the phone and reiterated our concerns over email before asking if we could receive our money back or be billed for the work she had already done so that we could mutually cancel the contract. We thought this was a reasonable request given that only a few hours of work had been done so far and that our schedules just could not match hers. However, she was surprised at our request and refused to not only not provide the requested refund, but also stopped returning our calls and emails to work out an amicable solution. In the end, we were able to find a different wedding planner and had an incredible wedding. However, we are deeply disappointed that Angela seemed more focused on her bottom line than caring about the wedding couples who have been saving and working so hard for their special day...

From start to finish, she was incredibly detail-oriented and thoughtful, always coming to the table with smart suggestions that elevated the evening and made the guest experience so much more special. Communication with Janice was a dream--she is responsive, organized, and on top of every detail. All the vendors worked together seamlessly, which speaks volumes about both her planning skills and her professionalism. Janice is also extremely well-connected and has relationships with the most talented vendors--musicians, cake designers, calligraphers, florists, and more. She curated a team that worked beautifully together and truly brought the event to life. Above all, Janice is incredibly thoughtful--she thinks of everything and goes out of her way to help in any way possible. One of the things I also appreciated most was how budget-conscious Janice was--she focused on getting true value and never suggested spending money where it didn't make sense. That gave me a lot of confidence in every decision we made together. Thanks to her, we had an unforgettable celebration that felt effortless for us as hosts. If you are looking for someone who will treat your event as if it were her own, and who has the talent, connections, and dedication to deliver an extraordinary experience, Janice is the one. We…read moregot Rue 29's "Wedding Day Management Coordination Package" which included day-of coordination and up to 30 hours of work before the wedding day, but we got so much more value than that! Unlike other month-of coordinators who won't talk to you until a month before, Rue 29 made sure to set us up for success from the beginning. As soon as we signed our contract Janice shared her list of preferred vendors and introduced us to everyone we needed to know. She seems to know everyone in Napa! She was then so helpful with any questions we had while we were booking vendors and coordinating with them over the intervening months. By the time we got to a month out from the wedding everything was pretty much already set! Janice was so incredibly helpful, super responsive, detail oriented, and extremely professional. When the wedding day came our day went off without a hitch! We were completely relaxed all day because of the trust that Janice had already built-we knew she would move whatever mountain needed to be moved to make the day perfect. During the day she was the perfect amount of attentive to verify a few last details with us but mostly left us to just enjoy the day while she took care of everything else. She was also so attentive to our families during the day, always making sure they had food and drink and everything they needed, which was such a sweet level of service and care. If you want a coordinator who truly supports you through the wedding planning process and will make you feel completely at ease on your wedding day then hire Rue 29!

    I have many things to say about Jigsaw Events, but won't say all in the interest in being…read moreprofessional. I hired them for full-service wedding coordination. What I got essentially was day-of coordination. The wedding day went generally great, and I'm sure they played some part in making that happen (hence the two stars). Kelly also led us to a few great vendors, whom I might not have know of otherwise. However, everything before that was another story. Communication is definitely not one of their strong points, which was immeasureably frustrating with planning the wedding from so far away. On occassion, weeks would pass before we'd hear back from her; when we did hear back, she'd be quite defensive. Her poor communication also spilled over to our vendors. They'd call/email me with questions because they couldn't get a hold of Kelly (wasn't that her job??!). My husband and I were so fed up with this unprofessionalism that I consulted with the (defense) attorneys I worked for - they heard all elements of the story, reviewed our contract as well as communications with her and advised us to "take the appropriate measures" with them. We didn't, just more stress. Jigsaw's pricing for full-service planning is much cheaper than the rest of the wedding planners' in the Napa Valley. I think that's for a reason - you get what you pay for... The real kicker is that Kelly could be a real pleasant and jovial person and had good ideas; she also spent time with us looking at venues and meeting with vendors. I had such a good feeling about her, at least in the beginning. There's potential there, but it just fell short, very short. Save yourself the headache and unnecessary stress and go elsewhere.

Kelly sent her husband to our rehearsal and assured us he knew what was going on. He didn't, and my wife basically ran the rehearsal. The only vendor we had a problem with was one she recommended. Our location required us to use a planner, so we went with Jigsaw. We would have been better off without a planner.

However, a few months before the wedding I was so overwhelmed with all the detail that Brenda offered to meet and she just helped me organized my priorities and made me feel really good about the progress I had made. She did the same 6 weeks later. OMG, so helpful to keep me going and manage the overwhelm. As the date grew nearer, she started leading more to ensure we took care of those horrible details (seating charts, signage, communication with vendors, table set ups, and the timeline, etc). At every moment she was calm, lovely, relatable, fun, reassuring, and extremely competent. The week before the wedding she came over and took ownership of all the "stuff" (candles, ceremony items, decorations, etc). That felt sooo good. She was great at the rehearsal and made sure "all the cats were herded"so we got through the rehearsal and worked out all the details. The day of the wedding? We were so relaxed and didn't think about a single thing. The tables were set exactly as we had discussed, the ambiance was amazing, every little detail she had taken care of. and then she cleaned up and stored everything for us and then brought it back to us a couple of days later. During the wedding, Brenda was a total ninja....I barely saw her at the wedding as she was in the background making it all happen so we could enjoy our guests. A guest even took a picture of her that makes her look like the super hero she is, LOL! You will LOVE working with Brenda. I cannot recommend her more vigorously. She is amazing.
