We ate here on our first night back at the JW Marriott. The restaurant has changed locations and is now the same as the Beach Bar by the pool. We were seated with an ocean front table so that was really great after a long day of travel. We started with the shrimp satay and it was superb. Not a hint of fishy taste or oder. Very fresh, very tasty, cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was among the best I ever had. I had shrimp fried rice for my entree and it was excellent also. The wife had seafood curry and it was a huge dish of seafood cooked to perfection with an excellent curry sauce. The kid had dumplings and ate them all almost. We had Mexican martinis to drink and they were perfect. Our server was friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was better this time than when we ate the old location. The old location was good, this was excellent. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.
Once again, another five-star experience in Cancun Mexico. We were craving Thai food for dinner, and I'm very glad we stopped here. Food: I went with the traditional choice of pad Thai and let me tell you what their version of pad. Thai is absolutely amazing. Every single bite was full thefull of flavor and very tasty. I will definitely suggest you give them a try because we were very happy with our food. My girlfriend went with the wings and obviously she shared some with me and they were absolutely amazing as well. They definitely had their own unique flavor, but they were cooked to perfection. The waitress I can't remember her name but her last name was Martinez. she was absolutely amazing and top-notch. She was a professional and make sure we were taken care of at all levels of service. I suggest you stop in and give this business. Try as you will not be disappointed. Serving up some really good Thai food here.
Loved everything about this place! Such a cool atmosphere. Patio was stunning! Love music on a weekday? Yes please. Food and service- excellent. Did I mention the fresh herb garden in front of the restaurant? It's the little things that make the biggest difference. This restaurant is at the Marriott Resort and came highly recommended by all staff. I was really in the mood for seafood but so many employees said to come here for dinner- I'm glad I trusted them! Huge herb garden before you enter the restaurant. Not just for looks either- you can taste the freshness of every ingredient in the dishes! Came here with a small group. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff gave us an exceptional experience. The cool thing about this place- you can order from the different restaurants (ask for the specific restaurant menus). Keep in mind the food from other restaurants could take longer but well worth it. We ordered sushi from the Japanese restaurant as a starter. It wasn't my favorite but still good. They bring out a complimentary appetizer- which was lovely! Curry spiced nuts and wontons with an AMAZING basil dipping sauce. Seriously the sauce was a game changer. The kind you contemplate on drinking (kidding). My entire party ordered different Thai dishes, all were raved about. 3 of us got different curries. All fabulous depending on what heat level you like. The curry dishes come with jasmine or sticky rice. Get the sticky rice! So good! I had the yellow duck curry- still thinking about it days later. So much flavor with just the right amount of spicy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!!! They made sure we had a good time. They even brought out a birthday dessert with sparklers for the birthday boy! It was some sort of chocolate mousse that should not be skipped. The cocktail menu wasn't as extensive as I thought it would be but if you have something specific in mind they are willing to make it. Pro tip- come just before sunset and sit on the patio! Amazing views.
Incredible Thai food! This was my favorite spot on the Marriott properties during our vacation. We were given a complimentary appetizer of fried wontons and a Thai type guacamole. Not really sure what it was exactly, but it was very good. I also had the mushroom soup to start and it was as good as any soup can be. It had a hot and sweet flavor to it that was different than any soup I've had. I would highly recommend ordering. For my meal I had the tofu pad thai which was spicy and delicious. Very large portion size as well, but it was too good to not finish. The only downside to this place is it the location. It is right on top of the parking lot and may also be near the sewage system because there were some terrible smells during the meal. The delicious food more than made up for it however.
Came here for dinner during our first night in Cancun at the JW. This used to be at the Marriott next door but has since moved here as the Marriott gets renovated. This is the same location as where beach walk cafe during the day. They did a great job decorating it that the space can actually work well for both. Right on the water. Incredible views. Food was excellent. I tried their cucumber salad which was amazing in presentation, their shrimp spring rolls were delicious, and my filet was like butter. My wife had green curry and she loved it. The pad Thai was not the best, not sure what it was missing. They usually have a saxophonist but for whatever reason she wasn playing that day.
Loved the live saxophone player and the Thai food was very good, just felt the flavors were a little too concentrated and shrimps weren't like the ones used at beach walk earlier that were mild and better texture. The kids liked the Tom yum shrimp soup, my husband and I enjoyed red curry with shrimp and pad thai shrimp noodles. The shrimp egg rolls were ok. Best part of the meal was the service and the most amazing desserts. The tapioca and the mango creme brulee are must haves especially if you like tropical flavors, the brulee came with passion fruit sorbet!
Wonderful dinner tonight sitting outside in the open dining area. They cooked our fish we caught today for us. First was a very cool and refreshing ceviche with mango and other fresh ingredients. Wonton appetizer I can't recall the name of was also delicious. Service was wonderful. We felt like we were the only couple at dinner with just enough attention to make us feel special.
Sasi Thai had pretty decent Thai food. The complimentary appetizer was a bit interesting - it was fried wonton chips with a sort of guacamole sauce. The appetizer wasn't truly authentic, but it was complimentary which was a nice touch. I think the spice levels could go a bit higher, but they have a huge variety of dishes and you can typically find your Thai restaurant classic dishes. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and the service was really quick here!
Looking for gluten free menu offerings was difficult but I contacted Marriott Cancun via email and got an immediate response of what they offer and she wanted to know when we were coming so she could inform manager and chef at the restaurant! The place itself is beatiful, like you are in a outdoor village. Staff was amazing and attentive. There was a lady singing and playing the flute the Friday night we went. We ordered the Sasi Sampler for an appetizer and gluten free chicken satay. For our entrees, even though there were four of us, we only ordered 2 dishes which were both gluten free - combination fried rice and red curry chicken. Portions were huge and we still couldn't finish it all! The rice was loaded with chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. Fantastic food!
Now that I think about it, I wish we have tried their food here. We made a reservation at the noodle bar (not good at all). We did have a few drinks here, and my hubby and I enjoyed it very much. Not sure if they do lice performances every Night, but we were able to enjoy our drinks with a live band singing on a Saturday night. Passion fruit martini- so delicious!!! Stir it a little, but as it became sour towards the end, I highly recommend this drink. Lychee martini- my hubby enjoyed this drink a lot. Super refreshing, and I love their presentation of this drink. We saw people order food by the bar, and I love the aesthetic of this place. The hut and being in nature/tropical feel to is just amazing. I regret not trying out their food.
Came back here yet again, for our now annual trip. They moved the place while the Marriott is under construction. The food was delicious as always. Spring rolls and the green curry are again my fav. I didn't love the pad Thai it was a little sour. Cucumber salad was so beautiful and delicious, highly recommend. It's always my fav spot here. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the ocean.
Sasi Thai has beachfront seating over looking the crystal blue ocean while being served some of the most mouthwatering Thai food around. Our waitress, Tania, was so sweet and attentive. We started with the sizzling, satayed chicken. Followed by the juicy filet with jasmine rice, crispy glazed chicken pad see ew, and delicious pork fried rice with lots of grilled vegetables. Everything was 10/10! Cannot wait to come back.
Gluten Free- yes, item specific or modification required Casein Free-yes, item specific or modification required Sasi Thai is located right outside the Marriott Cancun Resort entrance. You will have to step off of the sidewalk and on the drive way to get into the actual entrance. The sidewalk takes you to the back of the Japanese restaurant . Highlights: + selection of typical items that you would expect to see at a Thai restaurant + many of the items are naturally Gluten Free, though some may require modification. They do use soy sauce in some of the dishes, ie fried rice; however, they do have gf option., just make sure to communicate this with your server ahead of time +They did a good job of handling cross contamination. I had no reactions after dining + they are only open during dinner. If you wish to dine at a specific time, reservations are recommend. + seating is outside in a covered area, so if you get extremely sun burnt or cold due to a breeze, plan on taking something to keep warm + for a resort area , prices are pretty fair, though if you're not careful, drinks and sides can add up pretty fast + billing systems are linked between the JW and Marriott, so you can charge to your room accordingly + they offered a light appetizer, a really good cucumber salad, as a thank you to being an elite member.

Best curry ever! The scenery is pretty, the food is amazing! What more can you ask for? The portions are huge! If you want spice they bring it! We've had Susana as our sever and she is great! Chef Tomas ChaVez did it again! We love the Thai so much we order it Togo! My little one loves the kids Thai sampler! Tonight Chef Tomas was so sweet he packed extra Thai curry nuts and a chef hat for our little one! Thank you Marriott and Susan and Tomas from the sasi Thai for creating another fun night! read more

Where do I even begin? The service is phenomenal, my respects to all of the waiters/ waitresses. They are constantly making sure you're well attended and very conscious of food allergies and are just super spot on. I wish I would've taken a picture of all of the food my family and I ordered, the presentation was gorgeous and everything is so yummy! I have gone here before when I went to Cancun 2 years ago and begged my family to come here and of course they all fell in love with it. This is easily the best pad Thai I have ever had in my entire life!!!! It is so delicious you wish you'd never get full! Next time you're in Cancun, check it out! It's worth stopping by. read more

If you stay at one of the Marriots in Cancun and can't decide on what to eat, this is the place to go, it's DELI! I did not have high expectations, however, I was impressed! The food is yummy, and very flavorful! The portions are huge, if you are not too hungry sharing would be a great idea. You get a complimentary appetizer of nuts, sauces and wonton chips, ahh they were so good, or maybe I was just too hungry. Our waitress was super sweet and provided great service. This place was pretty busy on a Thursday night (Thanksgiving day), we waited 15 minutes before we were seated, not bad. We did wait a long time to get our food and our bill, probably because they were busy. Overall we there for like 2-3 hours. read more

If you live in Cancun and haven't been to Sasi Thai, I'm honestly not sure what you're doing with your life; however, if in Cancun-- this should be on top of your list! They have the best curry (you must get it with sticky rice --the jasmine rice wasn't as great); nothing like this can be found in Toronto, you just can't beat the quality of the food. Not the loveliest plate of food to look at, but assuredly and humbly tasty. Despite the street-facing views, this open-air restaurant was dimly lit, in case you're going for the total reclusive feel. 10/10 for the service and the drinks were also delicious (highly recommend the Sasi Daiquiri). read more

Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Pai Thai Gai entree and my husband ordered beef. Both were incredible. Hot tea to top it off. Fabulous. Our server was kind, adorable and funny. Passion fruit dark chocolate as a favor. Nice time. Almost forgot we were near a busy highway and attached to a hotel. read more

Great service. Our waiter was very attentive and really helpful and sweet. The cucumber salad is flavorful and refreshing. My wife and I had the paid Tai and it was great. My son had the lamb with tikka masala sauce and it was the best I had tried...ever. Really all the food was delicious and the service was great. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that they didn't have the white wine we ordered. We wanted to try a Mexican Sauvignon blanc which they were out of. We had a casa madero Chardonnay that was even better and less expensive. They did a great job. The outdoor ambiance was great. We couldn't hope for better climate, better food or better service. Honestly, nothing but good things about this place. Was kinda weirded out that at 7 o'clock on a weekday it was completely empty... besides that the Thai food was amazing. I highly suggest the Seafood curry, the sauce was out of this world!!!! I'd also say the price is pretty good... two entrees, two cocktails and a appetizer was about 65 bucks. Not bad!! read more

Lovely evening out. Everyone is so friendly and the works so hard to please. Very nice portions and the menu is a selective variety of Thai and Japanese. Sushi was excellent. Relaxing yet classy outdoor atmosphere. I loved that the tables are spaced for a bit of privacy. Very nicely put together in all ways. read more

Loved it, and our server was very friendly The food was much better presented than in most Thai American thai restaurants. We were a group of four. I loved their red curry. The server very nicely steered me towards not getting the green one. She was right and the red one was great. read more

Stayed @ J. W. Marriott. Went here on our 3rd night after a full hot & rainy day excursion. We're Asians, had high hopes & wanted to support fellow countrymen's business. Upon arrival, finding out it's only outdoor dining & after ordering 3 glasses of Thai iced tea, we should've ran for the exits (check the pictures). It looked like the tea bags ruptured & waitress thought we would not know how a Thai iced tea is supposed to be. I mean, really, at least try to strain them tea grounds! She did replace 2 out of 3 drinks but only after the complaint was made. You're probably wondering what happened to the 3rd Thai iced tea glass? Well, I didn't bother because after they fixed the 2 Thai iced tea drinks, it still tasted watered down & not even near a decent one we're used to. Then it was pretty much down hill from there. Sure, food presentation is important but great tasting food to us is everything. Nua Yang, according to my wife, had a decent size Filet Mignon but had a weak peanut sauce & was better served dipped in a red curry sauce of our other order which was Gaeng Som Goong. This order hardly had seafood in it (and yeah that white round shaped object in the center isn't onions or Quail eggs but Lychees.. Ugh!). Thirdly, my son ordered Guay Teaw. He's a big fan of Phad Se-iew but this did not impress him one bit. All in all, our dinner orders where underwhelming, generally small portioned & not true to their name.. real disappointing. Dining with similar unsatisfied patrons with dissatisfaction on their faces made us feel extra ashamed for being Asians on this damped & humid night. On the plus side, we gave a 1-star for their ambience & Low-fi/ jazz music selections. read more
