Mezcal margaritas with cucumber were so fresh, the lemonade is something special, and the rancheros steak tacos were exceptional. The flour tortillas were fresh off of the griddle with a slightly flaky outside and just a tiny bit doughy inside (the best!). We had their surf and turf and the coconut shrimp as entrees and their queso Mexicano with shrimp and chorizo and flour tortillas as the appetizer. Appetizer was great and the turf was cooked perfectly medium rare. The shrimp all around was overcooked especially in the coconut shrimp. I would give the shrimp 2 and the rest of the meal a 4. We sat on the swings at the bar, which are always fun and make everything a little more playful. That's not just the mezcal talking, either. Double check the order, because our order was wrong on multiple fronts (I asked for passion fruit and cherimoya ritas for the BOGO deal but got two passion fruit ritas instead that the bartender didn't take back, didn't order guacamole and it was served, and we didn't get the sweet potato fries we asked for and got normal fries instead). An incredibly beautiful restaurant with amazing food. We came here based on reviews we saw and listen, this was WELL worth it. When you enter this restaurant you are able to grab your own tea or house coffee. I love that I can get unlimited tea refills because tea is my favorite. When I came it was a particularly gloomy day, but this ambiance helped start me on the right track. I wanted to try a bit of everything but decided on the tres leches pancakes and the cheesy poblano with scrambled eggs. The picture I've attached is of all the food with a closeup on my own. What made this place even better for me was the service. Everyone was extremely nice, accommodating and worked really hard to ensure that MY experience was great. It had a nice savory flavor & didn't really need any salsa--though the salsa verde added a little kick. I even ate the side of guac they gave--and I usually don't like guac. The Baja cauliflower didn't quite do it for me. Given it's crunchiness, I could see it being a nice veggie alternative to fried shrimp though. Drinks are good & strong. Upon arrival we were greeted with a random person yelling at us for going down the wrong street in a golf cart. Edgar, a worker at the restaurant, quickly defended us. I was very pleased with Edgar's professional attitude great customer service, and backing us up from the rude person that approached us. Throughout the whole experience at the restaurant, Edgar was very very nice and provided awesome customer service. I wanted to make a great review on Edgar and asked for the manager. Edgar informed me the owner of the restaurant was having a wedding dinner the same day at the restaurant. I told Edgar to let everybody know he was doing a great job and Edgar should become a manager at this restaurant. I have traveled to different restaurants everywhere in Cancun the last three years. Edgar has been the most respectful and has provided the most customer service. The food was awesome and Edgar provided the best customer service I have ever received. This was such a good find on Isla de Mujeres. My boyfriend and I walked for so long hoping we would find some vegetarian options other than a "veggie burrito." And then we stumbled on this heavenly place! First of all, if you are drinking, you must try the Gringo moscow mule! The passionfruit is such a good addition. We had the stuffed jalapeno poppers for an appetizer and they were super crispy and the dipping sauce was soo yummy. It was sweet and mixed well with the jalapeno. For our actual meal we had the cactus (nopales) tacos and I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a lower calorie meal. The handmade tortillas were so good, reminded me of my moms. I don't know why there are 2 Lola Valentina that come up when you do a search but they both seem to be the same place (although I was told by the owner of newly opened Lolita that she sold her share a few months ago and apparently all the recipes were hers ?) Anyhow, this was my favorite place on the island for many reasons: the staff was super nice & friendly, the food and drinks tasted great, seemed fresh, felt "clean" and safe as I didn't get any tummy ache I came back many times for lunch and dinner. First off, my girlfriend's lovely dog is named Lola, so that was a definite interest to us on our phone search. Once we sat down we were very impressed with the ambiance. The establishment is clean, open, well-furnished, and friendly. The staff were very sweet throughout our entire lunch meal. The Moscow Mule and Mojito were perfectly balanced to the point where we didn't want to leave. The appetizer, plantains with guacamole was to die for. My girlfriend had a main course of steak tacos, which still is the best we have ever had in Mexico. No joke. I elected to have the Lola burger, in honor of her lovely dog and the restaurant's namesake. Jeez...my mouth is still watering thinking about it. Overall, please come here and support them. Oh yes! Please go here when you're on this paradise island! From breakfast to dinner and luscious cocktail drinkies, by far one of the best venues over here! Breakfast is so SO good, we went back 2 times. I love exploring when I'm on holiday but when something is just that darn good, you just have to good back... They have eggs Benedict with a surprisingly good Hollandaise. But my favourite is definitely the yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit. Order the Green Juice (they have freshly squeezed fruit & vegetable juices whoot!) to go with it and you have light, healthy, nutritious and yummm breakfast. Because it can get super hot on the island (in temperature yes!) and then you don't want a full nachos-heavy-cheese-beans meal, or well at least I don't. But hey, you can order that here as well as you like. You can get your own coffee at their 'coffee corner', you just pour as much as you like and you can refill what you want. The drinks at night are sooooooo good! Ginger hibiscus margaritas, tingy vanilla cosmos and other exotic flavour combinations - go and have your cocktails here! I must admit that I think the service was OK-ish at best at night, but maybe they were too busy. For breakfast? The service is absolutely the reason you should go here during the day! Trust me! I don't even know where to begin of how disappointing I am with this place. First we ask them if they take credit cards, they say no. So I paid cash. Later on they charge our card so when we went back to get the cash they said oh no that's a tip, that's almost 10$ tip which is pretty high for Mexico. Oh top of everything my drink they recommended was horrible so I asked for a different one. Yet they still charged for both. Horrible service. Bartenders act like they're doing you a favor. Definitely will never be going back and wouldn't recommend to anyone! read more
