Love this store! I popped in today & bought some delightful clothes & had a blast meeting the owner, Rebecca as well as some of the super-friendly clients. Her shop is filled with fine clothing, purses, shoes & jewelry, all upscale & classy. All the items are neatly displayed in a bright, colorful, clean & jazzy shop. I bought quite a few items & saved a lot of money. The items are in such great condition, like new, & are much better than just your average items from a consignment store. Consignor Beware While Sass Resale is a nicely appointed store with some very nice items, my experience there was an unusual one which I thought I should share with others. I took some clothing into the shop and after an extremely intense evaluation of my items which were clean and in excellent shape, some where rejected and some were accepted which is how it goes with consignment stores. Fair enough. However, three days later, I received an email to come and get my items even after I was told by management that I have very nice taste in clothing! Here they were just accepted and then I am asked to come back and pick them up! Living in Pikesville that would require a trip back to Timonium which I didn't appreciate. In the interim, one of my items was sold and I had about $9.00 that was supposed to come back to me and I was told that their check service would send me the money. After several weeks I called to inform them that I had received nothing and I was informed that because the amount owed was less than $25.00, they couldn't send a check. The $9.00 could only be used as a credit. Well, quite frankly when I was asked to take back my items after three days, I decided that the mercurial way in which I was treated made me sure that I personally didn't want to do business with this shop anymore. When I communicated that I didn't have a chance to accrue $25.00, I had their contract thrown at me. However, there was nothing in that contract that said that if you were deprived of the opportunity to sell your items that whatever was owed to you below $25.00 could not be reimbursed to you in cash. I am writing this review simply to share my experience with others even though I have been threatened with legal action if I put this out there (and I have the text to prove it.) Who goes to war over nine dollars.....Sass can keep my money and consider it a contribution. As I said, it's a very mercurial operation. While Sass Resale is a nicely appointed store with some very nice items, my experience there was an unusual one which I thought I should share with others. I want to share my experience at Sass this weekend. I have frequent this store for several years. I asked about a bag I put on consignment. I could not remember which ones it was I waited patiently because it was not that important. Rebecca accused me of wasting her and her employees time. I was purchasing this ST. Patty's day shirt. I joked and said 50% off today. She proceeded to pull out money out of her purse to pay for my item. I said Rebecca I was just joking. She said I didn't know you where joking. Of course I am more then willing to pay for whatever I purchase. I thought we where friends and knew how each other where. I always talked about her store to anyone. I have a pair of Tiffany earrings that are listed on the website for $1,000, she JOKED and said i will give me a $1.00. She is very good at dishing out but not taking it. After I left the store on Saturday Unsubscribed to receiving any of her emails. I know I was not welcome any longer in her business. She started emailing me and threaten me if I contact her store she will file harassment charges against me. I asked to please stop contacting me. I was done putting up with her and her moods. I have seen her be rude to other customers as well. She replied she has video taping of me being rude to her customer-Friends. Not sure how the only thing I ever said to her FRIENDS was how nice they look in her items. I don't work there!! At the old store that burnt down, she installed a security door in which I did not know or see any signs. I pulled it to hard. if a 120 pound woman could open her security door. I guess it wasn't much protection. Maybe she should of called the security company and explained that. I still have all of the emails. I wish her the best!!! read more

Hands down one of the best higher end consignment shops around. There are always tons of bags and shoes and an outfit for every occasion. The owner, Rebecca, makes you feel like family. This vintage store is killer! The owner, Rebecca, is as sweet as can be. She is very talkative and attentive to her customers - always knows what they would be interested in and checks in on you regularly. The selection is better than any other consignment shop in Baltimore. She is always getting new clothes/shoes/etc and her prices cannot be beat! Last time I was in I bought a pair of Rag & Bone jeans for $15. She has top name designer brands and also less expensive brands like Free People and JBrand. She features a diff color tag each month where all those items are half off. She also does a type of clothing on rotation that's half price - last time I was in (yesterday 12/3) it was shoes and jeans and the time before that (2 weeks prior) it was half-off pants. Street parking is a little weird/difficult on the busy York Road, but definitely worth a visit. read more

This is the best consignment shop I have been to in my life and I have been to alot! If you are in the Baltimore Greater Metropolitan area and you love consignment shops you will definitely love Sassy. They provide high end brands at un believable pricing. Sass Upscale Boutique is amazing! I am so glad I found this gem. It is a MUST GO consignment... I mean... upscale boutique! I was in search of a formal, floor length gown for a wedding. I called everywhere and when I called Sass the owner, Rebecca, was so so helpful. She told me that a local store was donating a ton of formal dresses to her shop and I would have a few to choose from, and all were brand new! Unfortunately, none of the formal dresses worked out for me, but that was fine because I was BLOWN AWAY by everything else in the store! Everything is designer, great condition, and best of all... great prices! I was pleasantly surprised while also extremely frazzled because I went there on my lunch break and I didn't have enough time to shop!!!!! Oh the horror! I felt like a kid in a candy store! For real, everything was so cute and the prices were very reasonable. I could have gotten lost in there for hours. Also, I think it is worth noting, that it was around the time of Preakness when I went there and she had a rack of dresses that she pulled for that occasion specifically. I also love how she pulled dresses for me to try on! And while I was there it seemed like she knew every single person that came in the door... you really feel welcomed and at home here. Don't walk in there on your tennis shoes! Rebecca will not sell you a dress unless you are rich! Or maybe it was my accent? It's amazing that Rebecca was waiting for my review (see below)! She mistreated me and she knows it! Look how she makes a point to say that the dress was only $12.50. It's the attitude towards a customer that counts for a business to be well rated. I did give her the entire Saturday to research. She was not interested on even taking down my number to call me back. She acted like I had ripped the tag. She had one other customer dropping clothes on Saturday. She was not very busy as she claims. I did not come back Saturday afternoon, I said I would be back Monday to check on the dress.I did, she dismissed me. I called a hour and half after (and I wasn't angry, she was rude!). She had plenty time, and if not, she should have been nicer to me. But it looks like she has more time to write a reply than to be nice to a new customer. If you consign with her, be aware, she has no way to know what you own other than tags attached to it, and you may not get paid correctly. read more

Have been trying to pick up a check for weeks and get a different excuse as to why I can't get my check every time - she doesn't have enough money in her account, she needs to order more checks, she's too busy - you name it, I've gotten it as an excuse! Finally, she tells me it's been 6 months and I no longer can get my money. Are you kidding me?! Rebecca is nasty as you can see by her responses on here - incredibly unprofessional. I stopped here hoping o find a black dress, and I was blown away! The store is full of amazing, high quality items. It's organized very well, and the decorations are so whimsical and fun! CONSIGNORS BEWARE! In June of 2017 I asked the owner if I could set an appointment to consign some of my clothing. She told me her shop opened @ 10:00 a.m. and to come on by when she opened. She was 25 minutes late! Another customer and I waited on her front steps for her and as we were both getting ready to leave, she pulled up. I dropped off upwards of 25 very gently worn high-end pieces to include blouses and dresses from South Moon Under, Nordstrom, BCBG, etc... some pieces still had their tags on them. I decided to wait till August to see how my stuff sold. The owner had just established an online consignor's page so you could see what stuff of yours sold. She gave me my code and after MANY attempts and many messages back and forth with her, she could not get my account up and running. Frustrated, I gave up. In September or October I reached out to her AGAIN to see if she had gotten the glitch fixed. Nope. She basically said she was sorry but offered NO HELP. Then told me not one piece of mine sold. I just find that really hard to believe. I dropped off some beautiful pieces... trendy, hardly worn some of them. I had joined Weight Watchers and lost 25 pounds so many of these clothes, I wore when I was heavier, then they were too big after I lost the weight. So some were worn once or twice. I heard through the grapevine that other consignors had very similar experiences and never saw a dime from their high-end pieces. If you have clothes you want to consign, GO ELSEWHERE. To this day, I'm SICK over the fact that my clothes are gone and I NEVER SAW A PENNY. Then she had the nerve to cold-call me to tell me about one of her upcoming sales! Go to Karma, a new boutique in old Lutherville, NOT SASS! Shady and unethical! read more

She will be sweet as pie when you first bring in all of your items, but when you try to get your money, she will do everything in her power to put you off, lie to you, put you on hold, never call you back, say your check request was never received and on and on and on until your head could nearly explode. She will not return phone calls or text messages. Supposedly my check was at the store. I stopped in to pick up but her partner could not find it but promised to call me by the end of the day. My girlfriend and I stumbled into Sass Upscale Resale during the holidays. We were visiting another shop next door when we spotted Sass with all the pink Christmas lights surrounding the store and a huge pink Eiffel Tower on the sidewalk. Sass was hosting a private shopping party for a customer, but invited us in with open arms. The clothes are amazing. I bought two designer Armani dresses and have been back for more since then. I am not sure about the other reviews, but I had a great experience shopping at sass. Rebecca was so sweet and very nice to me from the time I walked through the door and greeted me warmly. I was not dressed up as I was running errands and I literally had on sweatpants UGG boots a hat and the long coat. Her boutique is a nice small business along York Road, and very easy to fine with GPS as well. The store features accessories, shoes, high-end clothing, beautiful dresses casual wear and just some really cute pieces to add to your wardrobe. I never like to try on clothes in a store and I definitely took my time to try on a few pieces that caught my eye. Rebecca continues to greet with a warm hug and tries to know everyone by name. that is a plus to me. the customer service was stellar! I do not have a problem spending my money here as I know I will find some great items and have a nice time while visiting.will definitely be back soon! read more

Do not conmsign at this store. See other reviews with stories worse than mine. I left four items to consign. I was not given a list of prices she was going to charge but was told what she was going to charge and she made up price tags at the time. One purse she said she would list for $99.00. She priced it a $78.99 and it sold. I was stuck with a credit because she only issues checks if the consigner is owed $50.00 or more. When I went to retrieve my 3 unsold items I was only able to find 2. While I was in the store there were no other customers. The owner spent the entire time rearranging her stock. She didn't make an effort to help me locate the missing item. She said she would look for it and get back to me. It has been three weeks and I have left many messages on her voice mail as she never answers the phone. Have not heard from her. Additionally I decided to use my store credit while I was there since I did not plan to return. I bought a cosmetic bag she said was new. My mistake not taking out the stuffing until I got home. The bag had make-up stains in it. Also the consigner has to call the store to request a check and has to pick up the check. I have consigned with other stores and they have mailed the check with out having to be asked. Avoid this store. Don't consign or buy there. PS Rebecca called me back because she saw the caller id and returned the call without listening to my message. She claimed that she was not responsible for lost items per the agreement that I signed. I reveiwed the contract and it doesn't mention not being responsible for lost items. As a courtesy she has given me a $12.00 credit. It does me no good as I don't plan to ever walk in her store again. read more

There are two sides to this coin, so to speak, and it often depends on the mood the owner, Rebecca, is in when you walk in the door. Sometimes she is delightful and other times she simply is not. We'll leave it at that. If you're a buyer, then I think you can find some really good deals and some nice things if you hit it on the right day, which is the case with any consignment or vintage shop. The shop is cute and clean, and the merchandising is very good. She clearly has a knack for this side of the business. If you are a consignor, then the experience may not be so good. The rules change frequently regarding payments - read the rules carefully when you consign. She really doesn't want to cut you a check - she wants you to buy against your credit. I do not have an issue with that but she struggles with communication and it's a simple business. There are several months during the year that you cannot request payment for items that have sold - I suppose it's related to taxes or cash reconciliation, etc. I'm not really sure. Sometimes she is very pleasant and other times she does not respond appropriately, can be unprofessional, or she doesn't respond at all. There always seems to be a hoop to jump through to get paid and that doesn't sit well with me. I have sometimes been surprised by her lack of professionalism on several occasions since she relies on consigners with high quality items to provide items to her buyers. On a related note, she doesn't schedule her drop offs for those consigning items, which is a mistake. You may start to consign your stuff and then someone else walks in with stuff they want to consign. She may put your stuff aside and start working on their stuff. Never mind that she isn't finished with your stuff and the other person came in more than a half hour after you did. If she's more excited about their stuff than she is about your stuff, then she'll start working with them instead. And at the same time she may be trying to serve customers, deal with one of her adorable dogs that might be barking its head off, and answer the phone. I get that it's hard to run a small business and there are many competing priorities that must be juggled. But customers are not responsible for figuring that out and should NEVER be made to feel that they are imposing in any way simply because she is distracted with other matters at that moment. I hope Rebecca takes away some good advice from this posting. The shop has a lot going for it. But her behavior can be erratic and off putting, which will not serve her well in the long term. read more

Horrible experience as a consignor at this store! Policies are not consistent whatsoever. I went into the store to request a check for my items that sold, and was told that I had to call in to get a check mailed to me. I called the store a week later and was told that I had to come in the store to pick up a check. Explained that I was just there a week ago and after much complaining, was finally told a check would be mailed. 2 weeks later, I got my check with a new updated policy which has absurd rules (ie. after 90 days, MY money is forfeited to a store credit, have to collect your items yourself after 90 days, etc). I am a long-time consignor at other local consignment shops and have never seen such ridiculous policies. Save your time and more importantly, money, and go elsewhere! read more

I LOVE SASS! I was one of Rebecca's first clients and one of her first consigners. I was in her store the day she opened up shop! She immediately treated me with respect and memorized my whole families' names. I have been with her for 2.5 years. She is loyal and kind and will go an extra mile - or five - just to make me and my family happy. I LOVE consigning with Sass! Her policy and contract are great! You receive HALF YES 50% of the cost of the item! Which is determined by its resale value! That is amazing! Most stores give you less than 40%. With online consignment stores taking over Rebecca has found an innovative and personable way to stay in business and be a 2 time Best Of Baltimore Winner! Rebecca has always emailed me or contacted me if items were unable to sell. It is great that these items don't get trashed if I decide to not pick them up! They get donated to people in need! Not many businesses do that! Rebecca also has a computer system that tracks each and every item that has ever walked in her store! She provides me with account summaries per request! Again, most businesses don't do that! To have a consignment store give you an itemized list of your items is amazing! I have never seen that before. Most just give you a lump sum! Rebecca and her staff are amazing and helpful and knowledgeable! You will never find a business like Sass! I will always consign with Sass! As a shopper the store is always changing! There is always new merchandise each time I'm in the store -- even if I go multiple times a week! Sass has both vintage and new designer items! That is the perfect mix! Her staff is wonderful and Rebecca will go out of her way to introduce you to everyone in the store even other shoppers! Her prices are fantastic! The owner has been very un professional throughout my experience. First appt.-computer problems. Have to come back and pick up invoice. No problem.-Went back, didn't have everything listed. (asked if she could drop in mail-would have meant she would have to go to post office-her response) She said-come back again (3rd trip for the same reason). Stopped by yesterday to check status of items, she never listed. Could not find article that was supposed to be on the floor-not there. Also, purse had no price tag. During our conversation she was on the phone for several minutes. Than disappeared for about 15 minutes. Came out from the back, CURSING AND THROWING HER PHONE AND OTHER ITEMS. I have never encountered such RUDENESS FROM A BUSINESS OWNER. I WAS APPALLED TO SEE SOMEONE BEHAVING LIKE THAT. I ACTUALLY CALLED THE POLICE WHEN I LEFT THE STORE.
