This was hands down among the top 3 places we've ever stayed while on vacation and one of the best places we've had breakfast. Holly and Daniel have not only renovated and furnished a historic home themselves, but offer a hospitable experience with beautiful bedrooms and sitting areas as well as wonderful food. No detail is spared. If you're needing a place to stay in Buffalo, or just want to get away, look no further, Buffalo Harmony House is here! My toddler, husband, and I stayed here while in town for a wedding downtown. This location was a 5-minute drive from the wedding venue. We opted to stay here instead of a mainstream hotel because we knew this place would be clean. We weren't expecting such a well-put-together home and such amazing food, service, and hospitality. The photos really don't do it justice. I wish I took some of our room and the sitting areas, but only remembered to photograph the food. They have a piano, which my son and I loved to play. They pick their own fruits from local farms, and freeze them, so no matter what, you get the freshest, tastiest pastries during your 4-course breakfast. They also have a rooftop garden to grow their own vegetables. I believe they make essentially everything from scratch. Their whipped cream was decadent, and nothing was too rich, all was perfectly flavorful. They allow you to select sweet vs. savory as well. My husband got savory and I got sweet, so we both got to try the best of both! They made everything gluten free just for us since my husband can't have gluten. I couldn't tell that it was gluten free, which was wonderful (anyone who know what it's like only eating gluten free will understand that if a person who eats gluten loved the gf food, it means something). Also, the coffee was third wave barista quality. We wish we had more than two days to stay in Buffalo. We were so happy to have found this place.

If you're looking for that authentic Buffalo charm without feeling like you've accidentally…read moretrespassed into your grandmother's historically preserved living room, this is the spot. From the second you walk in, the house radiates that classic, cozy "Old Buffalo" energy that makes you want to cancel your plans and just exist in a state of perpetual relaxation. To the left of the entrance is the dining room. It's less of a room and more of a 24/7 hospitality hug. There is a relentless flow of snacks: chips, pretzels, fruit, and candy. The drink selection is equally aggressive in the best way possible (Nespresso, BOTH Pepsi and Coke products, beers, and teas). I spent an embarrassing amount of time just surveying my options. The Room (The Grover Cleveland): The room is a great mix of "I'm in a historical landmark" and "Thank God there's a heated bathroom floor." It's well-preserved but doesn't lack the modern essentials. The Pros: Mini-fridge, wall-mounted TV with streaming, and a shower with a hand wand (excellent water pressure, too). They even left two pitchers of water for me, one chilled, one room temp. That is the kind of over-preparedness I appreciate. The large windows allow tons of natural light to enter. Wall mounted Aveda shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the roomy shower. And yes, the bathroom has a wall-console controlled heated floor!! There are two luggage racks, writing desk and two comfy lounge chairs along with the king sized bed. One side has a nightstand with alarm clock abd the other side has a marble shelf on top of an old-style steam heater. There are plenty of plugs around the room and the door has bolt lock with old-style key. The Con: My only tiny gripe? The pillows. They were a bit on the "pancake" side of the spectrum, very thin and definitely not fluffy. If you like a firm loft, you might find them lacking. The Amenities The fireside library and parlor are perfect for pretending you're reliving the 18th-century lifestyle, and the covered front porch is elite-tier for people-watching. Parking is easy: you can pay for the off-street spot or just roll the dice with the free street parking (which was totally fine). The Food & The "Staff" The breakfast spread is legit. We're talking yogurt varieties, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, homemade granola, and homemadr scones that I am still thinking about days later. Seriously, the scones alone are worth the booking. Also, special shout-out to the resident dog who clearly thinks he's the General Manager. He's the friendliest employee on the payroll. The location is walkable to a bunch of local shops and restaurants, so you're right in the heart of things. If you want a comfy stay that is affordable and feels historical but isn't "stuffy," this is your place!

The inn is located in ElmWood- the area is very walkable. Close by to many local shops and restaurants. The inn communal area is very pretty and is filled with histories. We were in awe how well maintained the inn was. The staffs were all very friendly. I really enjoyed talking to Polly. She was very accommodating. The stay comes with light breakfast included. The room is huge and is nicely furnished. Some improvement suggestions I would have is having more outlets or extension cords. The room actually faced the street and it was shockingly not too noisy, though I thought the inn was thoughtful when I saw they did provide a white noise machine. I highly recommend checking out this place if you're in Buffalo NY. Definitely worth the money.

The Inn is right in the heart of the village, with nice restaurants north and south on Elmwood. Intermixed are interesting shops and boutiques, cafes, and even a cool grocery store. A mile south is Allen Street and all its wares; a mile north is Buffalo State and the art museum. Hop on a one of those rent-by-the-hour bikes, and Canalside and downtown is a quick pedal away. Even more, there is easy access to the freeway that gets you to Niagara Falls quickly (I suggest Whirlpool State Park for an alternative trip; the hike to the bottom of the gorge is gorgeous). The Inn itself is clean, interestingly decorated and comfortable. The room we stayed in was large ... and my wife took advantage of the large bathtub to soak away a late evening while enjoying a glass of wine. There are snacks, toiletries, water and other small touches that made the stay very enjoyable. What isn't mentioned on the Inn's website prominently is the breakfast: they are delicious. The owner has worked in the restaurant industry as a chef, and it shows. There is a wide selection of healthy options (such as fruit, granola, yogurt) along with hearty meals, pastries, cheese, sausage, etc. And, perhaps most importantly, the coffee was great. One last thing: take advantage of the porch. There is an outdoor sitting area off the communal living room that provides a great place for enjoying coffee and a newspaper in the morning, and a delicious nightcap (perhaps with some Buffalo-style pizza) in the late evening. The people watching from the porch is also great (Elmwood Avenue is pedestrian-heavy throughout the day and evening). Anyway ... if you enjoy culture, food, people-watching, access and beautiful neighborhoods, you'll love this place.

I came down because their phones do not say how to dial room to room. Well, Annella had the WORST customer service and she didn't know how to dial it either. She told me to dial 0 and the room number! I asked if anyone else could help she said no. I'm not sure what's missing, but how do you NOT KNOW how to dial room to room. I mean ITS YOUR JOB TO HELP AND ASSIST GUESTS. Anywho, I left and came down later and ALLISON AND TOM WERE WONDERFUL!!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and I believe ALLISON cleared up some confusion about their shuttle service. Because of these two I'm giving TWO STARS! I don't care how beautiful your hotel is, I will make sure to give an HONEST REVIEW and tell folks my experience. So basically, you will be on your own if Annelle is there. Lastly, the housekeepers CLEARLY DO NOT CARE! Who leaves PISSY MATTRESS COVERS ON BEDS??? Just sickening!

A Hidden Gem in Buffalo!…read more I stayed at the Delavan Hotel in Buffalo and was genuinely impressed. From the moment I walked in, it felt more like a boutique hotel than a chain--clean, quiet, and thoughtfully decorated throughout. The attention to detail in the design really stood out, giving it a chic, upscale vibe without feeling stuffy. Although I didn't have a chance to check out the spa, it was a nice touch to have that available. The real standout for me was Chandelier, the onsite restaurant and bar. It was beautifully decorated, had a fantastic atmosphere, and the food and drinks did not disappoint. That night, they were hosting a charity event, which brought an incredible energy to the whole place--elegant but lively. Staff were professional and courteous across the board. Pricing was very reasonable for the level of quality and experience. All in all, the Delavan delivered way more than I expected. I'd absolutely stay again
