I was just about to hire another (very expensive) company when my brother sent me the link for Sassies. After only five minutes of talking with Naomi, I knew instantly they were the right team for the job. And it was a huge job -- you truly can't imagine how much stuff my folks had! They jumped in immediately and managed four separate three‑day sales -- absolutely unheard of. From the moment I handed over the house, I never had a single worry. Naomi and her team worked tirelessly to get the best prices and move as much merchandise as possible (did I mention my folks had a LOT of stuff?). I'm also a reseller and I never miss out on a chance to stop by the sales bc I always find great unique cool stuff to resell at fair prices! My favorite is the vintage toys and Christmas/Halloween I find :) I'd also like to add that the previous review ( D. D.) I was at the sale that day shopping. And I heard them giving the cashier a hard time at the checkout bc they wouldn't sell DD the items at the amount of A QUARTER each like are you kidding me. Then they were being nasty and passive aggressive and just trashy. Like spoiled bratty kids who can't get their way. It was really cringe to watch adults like this haha. Anyways. Sassies was responsible for clearing the seller's belongings of the home we moved into. They didn't finish clearing out everything despite us asking repeatedly. I went to a couple of their sales in Chicago in 2024. I've been to probably 1000+ estate sales over the years and something with the items at theirs seems off, almost as if items from a shop or dealers inventory were transported and strategically placed in an empty house that is up for sale. No way to be sure but seemed like fake estates. They are on my list to skip. read more

Naomi Ross went above and beyond for me. My aunt passed away leaving a house full of 60 years of accumulation. Also I live in another state. Naomi and her team came in and organized and priced the whole house and held the sale as promised. PLUS there was an issue selling the washer/dryer and my aunts' mothballed personal car. We had the misfortune of visiting an estate sale at a home in Arlington heights with Sassies as the seller. We've been selling on eBay for over 25 years, acquiring the bulk of our inventory for resale from estate sales and garage sales. We can honestly say that in those 25 years we've never dealt with a more obnoxious group of people. From the loud mouth man as the greeter, who actually made comments about each customer as they entered using foul language in his evaluations, to the tired old hag posting 30 year old pictures of a scantily clad Jon Bon Jovi. They appear to be related somehow, probably living in the same trailer. We will simply avoid visiting any estate sale being run by Sassies. DO NOT USE SASSIES ESTATE SALES. Unprofessional Dishonest and Rude!! I would not recommend this estate sale company. We felt completely ripped off and violated at the end of the sale. We honored our end of the contract, but Naomi did not. My mom and dad had 55 years of toys and memorabilia and Mid Century Modern and antique items that were very valuable and collectable. Naomi assured us that she was a certified appraiser and would price our items accordingly. However the night before the sale, very few of the toys or other items were priced yet and those that were seemed very low. They did not put up any signs until 11:30 am of the first day because of rain. Her excuse was that she cannot control the weather. We were not aware that signage was weather related. After the sign went up, we drove all over only to realize that they only put up ONE sign at the end of our street. This was on our only full price sale day that would be ending at 3:00 PM. A neighbor of ours was at the sale and shared with us how rude she was to him when he asked where he could pay because things seemed very disorganized. She said she could make sure he wouldn't be able to purchase anything if he was going to criticize the chaos he was experiencing. Furthermore he was buying one of the Tonka trucks that she priced at $5.00. Similar trucks in worse condition start at $25.00. There were over 25 Tonka trucks in beautiful condition. We also had a bin of approximately 300 matchbox cars. She made no attempt to go through any of them to determine which ones were most collectible and price them accordingly. We had a vintage 1938 wicker set that was not for outdoors and she left the entire set including the upholstered cushions out in the rain for two days. My brother was at the sale to buy a few of his items back so that he wouldn't be violating the contract by taking things out of the sale. A woman asked if the wicker was wood or plastic and she was told it was plastic even though we told Naomi the history of the set and how it was in beautiful condition. On the second day she texted me that they were all packed up and getting ready to leave soon. That was at 2:00 PM and the sale according to the contract was supposed to go until 3:00 PM on both days. At the end of the sale she shared a total of what sold with my mom. My mom wrote it down. However that is not what she paid us. I told her that was not the same amount that she had told my mom and when I challenged her she said my 83 year old mom must be confused. And when we asked to see a receipt book or list of what sold, she told us that she does not keep track of any of the sales and that she told us that. I assured her that we were never told that because we would have never chose your company if that was the case. That is also not stated in her contract so she is a liar. That leaves the customer wide open to theft. We have no way of knowing what she sold and what she took. But what we do know is that based on what was gone we should have made a lot more than what she reported to us. When we first interviewed Naomi, she spent almost two hours with us building our trust and telling us how she understands the importance of peoples attachment to their things because they all hold memories. And that she would never violate that trust or violate peoples memories. It was why we chose her. In the end, that is exactly what she did. This was a horrible experience. Save yourself the heartbreak and DO NOT USE SASSIES ESTATE SALES. She is an aggressive liar and a common thief. read more

I drove all the way to Racine WI for a "vintage" sale even though I knew the WHOLE TIME I should have gone to Sassie's sale instead. Long story short, after a horribly crowded, poorly run sale I stopped at the Sassie's sale in Niles today on my way home. As usual, everything was well laid out, there were numerous workers who would carry items to the hold shelf for me. Items were clearly priced, or as in the case of a BOX full of quilting pieces, I was quoted a very reasonable price. Another lady at the sale told me she was back for a second time. I'm going back AGAIN myself - we always regret the vintage we didn't buy, you bet I'm kicking myself as I write this about the piece I left (hope it's there tomorrow). I still walked out with boxes enough to fill half my car. I have managed to find unique, quality pieces every time I go to their sales at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them. Additionally, I love that they start on Saturday - whereas most other companies start their sales as early as Wednesday or Thursday, making it difficult for the 9-5ers to get in and have first dibs. Some of the employees are brusque but by no means rude and most are quite helpful and friendly. Prices are extremely fair. Definitely a go-to for me. read more

Very condescending and angry. We arrived at 9 and asked what time it opened. It took me asking 3 employees to get an answer. We we put on a list and told to be back at 930. So I am supposed to stand in a front yard 30 minutes for them to open. When we were call he asked for our number. We were already on the list we were rudely informed next time we would not be allowed in without a number. We do 8 sales a week and have never received treatment like this. Prices were very high. The employees all seemed to have this aditude, as the fun was just sucked out of it. Sassies Estate Sales just handled my sale. Naomi and her crew are professional and alot of fun to work with. It's unfortunate to see a review from Stephanie trashing the business. When one goes to a sale expecting something for nothing then, in my opinion, they are in the wrong place. When told a fair price for yarn, that was in - my clean house -a poor excuse for a reason..my house was not dirty or had any smells!, and then to complain it wasn't low enough was just being cheap. You were quoted $40 for two tubs of yarns..and refused. Any needlework crafter would recognize that the price was more than reasonable. I am an artist and see the same thing..people that want something for nothing. Other artists will always pay for pieces by other artists because they know what goes into the work and the value. When Sunday was advertised as 50% off, the rule is of this sale is anything priced over a dollar was 50% not the $1 itself. This whole review was sour grapes on her part, and insulting to me as well. Naomi's team did a herculean amount of work in my house getting set up, along with the sorting and pricing..as I did getting ready for them. It is a lot of work. Naomi priced everything fairly and reasonably. To Stephanie...if you were in the position to use an estate company..I suggest you put yourself in my shoes. Would you let your items go for .50 cents? or want less than a 50% price for things that have value. Friends, please don't let one or two people who could not get their way try to ruin a business with a bad review because they were rebuffed for being cheap. Employees were brusk and condescending. Also shouting across the house to each other making for an uncomfortable shopping environment. I just attended an estate sale hosted by Sassie's, and they were incredibly rude. When you walked in the door, there was no greeting, no hello, just someone immediately barking in your face, "Prices are nonnegotiable!" I picked out a few small items and got in line. Another couple in front of me, who were honestly being very polite, were trying to point out to the man running the thing that the items they had picked up still had the original price tags on them, and Sassie's was charging double the price. Rather than apologizing or working with the couple to make a reasonable sale, the man grabbed the items from them, scribbled the original full price on Sassie's price tags, and told them that was the price and literally said, "Okay, thank you, goodbye," and walked away from them when they began to express confusion. He completely shit them down. When I went to pay for my items, I pulled out my debit card to pay, and the woman ringing people up just crossed her arms and scowled at me and said, "Nope!" And, obviously taken aback, I was like, "Excuse me?" "We only take cards if it's above $25." Which, like, okay fine, but could you maybe attempt to have a modicum of customer service? How about, "Oh, I'm sorry, we can only accept cards for purchases above $25. Do you happen to have cash?" I've worked and managed in customer service for many years, and this was a remarkably sour experience for only being in that house for about 15 minutes. If I were to ever need to hire an estate sale company, it would certainly not be these folks. read more

Visited one of their sales a couple weeks ago. Not a good sale for the shopper. Numbers were supposed to be giving out half hour before the sale opened this never happened. Some people were waiting around for this.Things in the house were priced per ebay and things in the garage many were unpriced, had to make a pile before given a price. Do not know the name of the lady we spoke with but wanted to make offer on a lot of yarn on the last day of the sale and lady came back with a price of $50 just because there was a skein or 2 of chenille yarn. Most of the yarn was medium weight. I had offered $20 she did counter to $40. The yarn was liated as $1 a skein I do not think that there were 50 skeins in total. She just said $40 was the best she could do. She did not seem interested in selling the yarn, other customers comment on this as well (not willing to accept reasonable offer), yarn was in the basement so who knows if it had an odor or not. She seemed more interested in reading a review on her phone in a chair upstairs when we were checking out. Gentleman upstairs was much more helpful with our other items. read more

Wish I could give this a 0. Awful Sale. Went to the sale in Northbrook. There was a problem in the morning with the "WATCHED" LIST... ended up there were two lists . The first one no one stayed with but the company new about???? so the first 3 people that they "knew" were on the list were let in. So slightly strange to say the least. Then no one will help you with anything at the sale. You can't bring in your purse or a bag to carry items. This was mainly a sale with lots of clothes. I wanted a bunch of sweaters and asked an attendant to save them for me and I went up stairs to put the first load on a shelf to hold them then when I can back right away to get the rest another lady was taking them. I was very upset and the male owner of the sale treated me like I was a "LITTLE LADY" so patronizing it was ridiculous. I was told "okay ladies there is enough clothes in here for everyone." I came at 5am and waited to get in until 10am. I felt I wanted what I wanted and I don't think it was to much to ask for someone to hold something as you brought half of them upstairs. I don't think the sweaters ever ended up in my pile as they were supposed to. I don't think I will ever go back to one of there sales. Simply a disorganize mess. Buyer Beware read more

Absolutely will NEVER attend another sale held by "sassie's"; sassie is an understatement! The owner Naomi Ross is down right rude! I attended an estate sale hosted by this company for the first time today, I found several blankets that I really liked and thought 50% off on the last day of the sale, I'm sure to get a great price. These blankets were un marked and in a room down stairs with no other blankets so I asked for a price, to which she quoted 12 for one and 10 each for 2 others I found. A total of 32 dollars. Upstairs there was a closet FILLED WITH BLANKETS, along with a sign that said their respective prices. One of the blankets I selected from the closet matched a blanket from down stairs with the ONLY difference being the color. So I snapped a picture of the sign gathered my blanket and headed to see if the prices on the sign were the correct prices. When I went down stairs the owner informed me that "she tagged the blanket in the closet at the beginning of the sale 2 DAYS ago and the tag was removed, I told her that the closet was filled with blankets and what the sign said and she said that she would not match the price of the blankets to 6 dollars for the ones that she priced at 12 and 10 a piece despite the sign THAT HER COMPANY MADE. She stated "I'm not going to let these blankets go for that price" to which I left ALL of my blankets and several other items.
