Thankfully, though, I got over that inital reaction and discovered just how wonderful, juicy, and tender this fantastic creation really is. Turduckens have always had to be pre-ordered at delis, or made painstakingly by hand. Well -- not anymore! The Original Turducken takes what was once a deli-exclusive gourmet meal and turns it into something accessible, and just as delicious, right from your local grocer's freezer. Available with two kinds of stuffing (Spicy Italian Sausage, which I love, and chicken apple sausage which is good too), I get my birds from the frozen food isle at CO-OP. After thawing them a few days, all I need to do is pop this turkey-looking beast into the oven, and cook it slow until the internal temperature is 165 degrees F. That's it -- no prep, no basting, no worry -- just cook it like it says to on the packaging. Then, once it's done, all I need to do is slice it like a loaf of bread and serve. Yes -- slice it like a loaf of bread. See, these birds come completely boneless (except for wings and drumsticks). So you're getting solid meat in the guise of a golden turkey. It's awesome and wonderful stuffed into tasty. And the duck and sausage stuffing keeps the entire thing so moist you don't need gravy (... but with drippings, you can make some anyway). With the last bird(s) I made for Christmas dinner, I served 12 adults to satisfaction AND I had enough leftovers for lunches days after. Plus, the dinner conversation never faltered -- everyone was talking about how neat it was to be sampling such a unique dish. It may seem pricey, but you have to remember that you don't waste any money buying bones and sinew that you'll throw away when supper's done (as with regular turkeys). If you want to try something different, I doubt you'll be sorry with this.

Everyone was talking about it days in advance and still are days after. All of my guests crowded around to watch me carve this glorious flock of birds melded together. It was easier to prep than a regular(don't tell all of my dinner guests that, though) and did not require the attention of a normal bird. Just peel off the plastic and heat until the thermometer says its good! Carving is also easier and cleaner than wrestling with a half trimmed carcass. I was prepared since I had read the reviews, but be prepared to create your gravy without much for drippings. The Chicken-apple sausage version barely had a drop of grease off of it and would have made for some thin gravy if I didn't have some cheater mix handy. Good job Echelon Foods! @evanedbom

The exterior of the building appears that it is situated in an old house, which definitely adds to the charm. The staff greeted me an led me to a table on the upper floor. Immediately, I noticed that most parties in here were large and the portions were family style. Definitely something that I wish I had brought friends to and not just come in as a solo diner. However, the staff did not make me feel weird about this at all. I ordered a Lychee Time cocktail and a Rose Rice Cake curry. They brought out an included kimchee plate, which was certainly enough for 4 people. The Rose Rice Cake dish was the same, enough for 2-4 people to share. Both the kimchi and the curry were amazing, I enjoyed both immesely. My only complaint was that my drink was far too sweet, I had to water it down to finish it. When it came time for my inevitable leftovers, the staff had great suggestions for reheating and I was even able to purchase udon to go for the leftovers. Amazing homey experience that I would recommend to anyone in town (preferably with friends!).

My craving must have been intense because I didn't even think about it and started my long walk there. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. The bathroom is in the basement, the first floor is a bit small but has some tables, and the second floor has most of the dining area space. Interior decoration was pretty minimal but there was kpop playing and it was a bit dark in there so if you're looking to get a few drinks and Korean food with some friends, this would be a great spot. When I was sat at my table and I looked through the menu, the first thing that popped in my head was that they had quite an extensive menu. From army stew, bibimbap, bulgogi, and what I decided to get Dakgalbi (marinated chicken bbq). The Dakgalbi was really good and marinated well. I wasn't expecting the fried rice at the end to come with it like in Korea which was also really good. The only critique I have regarding the food is that there weren't that many side dishes (banchan) and the lettuce on the side was an extra $5. Service was on point. Thu and the woman server, I forgot her name, worked well as a team to make sure everyone was taken care of even though they had to walk up and down those stairs probably 10+ times just when I was there.

Had 8 different cuts of meat and found the galbi, bulgogi and skirt steak to be tasty. Didn't enjoy the pork belly, but I rarely do, and found the spicy pork to be bland. Beef soup was delicious as was the egg casserole. Cheesy corn tasted a lot like canned corn. Wings were cooked perfectly and wished they had more of a kick. They were supposed to be sweet and spicy but I found them too sweet. Complimentary Mango crushed ice was inventively playful and a joy to eat. All of us tried it and thought it was light and not too sweet. Refreshing.

The pad thai had the right tang to it - not at all sweet or ketchupy like some restaurants. Soup was light and fragrant. The green curry was incredible. I've never been to Thailand before but my husband has and he said the flavours were legit. The kits come with fresh herbs and hard to find ingredients, such as galangal, lemongrass, chilies, shrimp paste, tamarind juice, palm sugar, peanuts, and fish sauce. Prices are reasonable - it works out to be less than Thai restaurants in Calgary but it tastes to me, much healthier and less sweet/oily. There are discounts if you order $100 or more, plus free delivery. Pro tip - cut up the chilies in tiny slivers. I thought it was a red pepper and chomped on it. My mouth was burning for a good hour.

A small is $15, feeds 2 and $24 for 3-4. They provided samples here for various types, green, red, yellow and Penang curry. They are all DELICIOUS! The price is average and I think about how much it is to go out for Thai, portion sizes are a lot smaller, I feel flavours are restaurant quality and I like how I know what is exactly going in the dish. You can substitute for what you like, coconut milk is provided and you can make it a "lighter" version by adding water. Rice is also provided and is really tasty. They are easy to make and fool proof! Easy directions with all ingredients provided to make, though you add your own vegetables and protein. I've bought all of them and love, it's a really good and fast supper. We add tons of vegetables and we have enough for me, my husband and leftovers for lunch. Downside is I wish they were more easily found! You can go to their website to find locations that carry these kits year round, though pricing is slightly better at the seasonal farmers market. They will give you $1 off if you bring back the box and if you buy 3 kits you'll get a free Tom Yum soup. BTW, I tried and it was also soooo good! Give Thai Manna a try you'll love!!

Upon walking in, I immediately felt like I was transported back to Korea with the seating arrangement, self-help water station (much preferred for people like me that drink a lot of water), the K-pop music playing in the background, the warm welcome from Kim and Sarah, and a genuine taegukgi (Korean flag) from the Korean War (SUPER COOL, see picture). The beef stone bowl was one of the best I have had in North America (no joke) and reminded me a lot of my time in South Korea. The ratio of meat, rice, and vegetables were spot on and the marinade on the meat was so good. The egg was cooked perfectly with some runny yolk. And the cherry on top was the slightly crispy rice on the bottom of the stone bowl. I honestly would have had another bowl if I didn't have to catch a flight. The seaweed soup complimented the stone bowl perfectly. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better traditional Korean meal before my flight. The other thing that makes this restaurant special is the customer service. Kim and Sarah were so welcoming and we even shared some great conversation. I would come back just for them. An employee of a business within the same building came in and you can tell based off their interaction that Kim and Sarah are respected and loved in the community. Thank you Stone Bowl, Kim, and Sarah for giving me a little taste of Korea during my work trip. I will be back!

Went to the supplement area looking for help, no one was there for ~5 minutes so I walked around till a staff member appeared and I asked for help. During that time, a plain clothed security follow me and watched me as I looked for products. Even when I was talking to a staff member, he followed us around and stared at me. After I decided on the product, I mentioned to the staff that it was very rude what the plain clothed security did to me. She said she noticed it as well and apologized. I went to the till to pay and to no surpise, the security guard was still staring at me. I them waved to him and paid. Understandably she was upset at the horrible lack of customer service she received. Rather than apologize, they shot her down then banned her the next day. We continued shopping at the downtown branch and occasionally I would pick up emergency items from the closer Crowfoot location. One day I rushed in in a hurry to pick something up, well aware they were closing soon. The supervisor called after me, telling me they're closing soon. I continued walking, well aware they were closing soon. She said 'Did you hear me?' I paused and said quite civilly, 'Yes.' the next thing I knew, I was banned. Presumably for that! Then to add insult to injury, when we went to the downtown branch we were told we are both banned there now too! This after 15 years of no incidences and being loyal customers, this is how they treat us. I called customer 'care' thinking it was a sick mistake and they said they would forward my concern to the appropriate person but no one ever got back to me. I then emailed them, no response. I have since told all my friends and colleagues of this hateful disgusting mistreatment. They were all shocked and won't shop there either. I work in customer service and we would never ever treat anyone so horribly without provocation. Im so disgusted and offended by their appalling hateful discriminatory behaviour.
