It's the kind we had back when they were experts and you could trust their word even though it wasn't a huge place or fancy. Honestly it was nice to find this store because it's nice to talk to someone who isn't trying to make a sale by ripping me off. They may not have it in stock but they can get anything quickly and with fair prices. I prefer ro support small businesses because years of expertise come with the service instead of a clueless zombie that will give you anything to shut you up and get you to leave. When checking out my child was carrying a stuffed animal that was purchased from a small business store nearby. Oddly enough I guess Ace Hardware sells the same item and the associate asked if "I was going to purchase the item" my child was carrying. I informed her it was purchased at another store. I feel like once I said that the associate should have believed me, but insisted on seeing the receipt. She also mentioned " if she would have seen my child walk in with it she wouldn't need to see the receipt." Well no duh, so I said "call the cops and we can check all the cameras you guys have up." She then said "don't worry about it." I had to call my wife over and she provided a digital receipt from the small business purchase. I don't recall getting a thanks or apology from the associate. Could have been handed better by the associate. Would have been embarrassing if other customers were around but the only other person around was another associate. She coordinated meetings with her team and other suppliers as we worked through cabinets, flooring, countertops, doors, plumbing fixtures, interior and shingle colors. Everyone I spoke with at Foothills was extremely customer service oriented and knowledgeable. They were recommended as a resource by my contractor. Basically you ask the guy for what you want, and the guy gets real annoyed you're there, and he wanders around looking through boxes, and after a few minutes you get a verdict. It's sort of like Bernard Black in Black Books. Even if you want to shop with a mom and pop store, these guys make it difficult.
