As a former patient at the zucker hillside psychiatric facility, in the adolescent unit, this man…read moreshould not be a psychiatrist, every single child including me under his care was prescribed lithium, which more often than not, was not necessary or safe for the children on the unit, he tends to diagnose those under his care with bipolar, and not just people with the symptoms of bipolar, quite literally a majority of us were diagnosed with bipolar, even though we didn't present any symptoms or tendencies of the disorder, it became a running joke among me and other patients to raise our hands if we were on lithium, the majority of us were, with very few exceptions. He recommends ECT for treatment resistant depression and other disorders of the sort, which is often considered the modern lobotomy, and usually shows only relative success in senior patients or "Gerrys" my roommate and one of my best friends at the time was one of the people subject to this treatment, we're still in contact and the treatment never ended up helping personally I was very disappointed and shocked by the "care" he exhibits (which is very little) if you or someone you love needs help and you're considering going to the zucker hillside adolescent unit, or directly to Dr Goltz, please reconsider, and find someone who cares about the patient as a person instead of a lab rat
