I called during the week to make a Saturday appointment. The gentleman on the phone was polite, helpful, and easy to work with. They were able to get me in the same week for a 10 AM appointment. (Note: Saturday is the only day they schedule for. The rest of the week is walk in/ call ahead). When I arrived, the office staff and customers wore masks and the waiting room inside was closed. They set up plenty of chairs to wait outside. The gentleman at the desk let me know about a promotion they had -- $21 for a basic oil change. My car was ready in 30 minutes!! I had planned to wait for 1-2 hours! They recommended changing the air filters and let me know they don't carry them, but I can pick them up somewhere and they will change the filters for me. 30 minutes after I left, i received a text with a link to an inspection they did. It told me my cars health, any urgent and non-urgent recommendations, and had pictures! I've never seen this before. I will definitely bring my car for service here again. I've used ECCC Savannah a number of times over the years and have always had a positive experience. Today however, I called for a labor cost to replace a serpentine belt on a 2015 Lexus RX350. I wanted them to use an OEM belt that I had already purchased online. I was told they could not use a customer supplied part. So they wouldn't do the job. I could understand this if it was an aftermarket belt but it was from a Lexus dealer. They could have the customer sign a waiver of liability for parts supplied by the customer. But then they miss out on their price markup for the part. Frankly, I'm glad they said no because I replaced it myself and it was the easiest money I ever saved. Took me 30 minutes start to finish. I would like to show my appreciation to Duane and East Coast Car Care in Savannah, GA. My daughter had car troubles and had AAA take her car to this business. I meanwhile am out of the state. You can understand my hesitation to a businesses honesty when it comes to someone's need of repairing a car to get it serviceable again. With my daughter going to this location and me feeling completely helpless across the country, I was praying Duane and his team could help. Duane was very courteous on the phone. After taking the VIN of the vehicle over the phone, before the car arrived, the only information we gave him was we thought the alternator was bad. So he gave me an estimate on that and it was an honest estimate and I asked him to please proceed. Once the car was delivered, it was near the end of the day so he couldn't work on it. The next morning he called after his technician let him know it may not be the alternator. He called and asked if they could do an estimate and they would have to get involved in the vehicle so would need authorization from me to charge around $150 for diagnostics. Since this was a Mercedes GLA 250, and after nearly five hours or going through the vehicle, they determined, since they do not have the diagnostic equipment and updates for this type of Mercedes, they could not honestly access the situation with pinpoint accuracy and did not want to waste my money trying to troubleshoot with what they thought was wrong. So he let me know Mercedes at the dealership would be the best opportunity for this vehicle. I thought I would have to pay at least the diagnostic fee and they could have tried to screw us on the hours, but Duane said NO CHARGE. I felt like reaching through the phone and giving this man a hug honestly. I could not believe it and he said if they cannot fix the car, he did not want to charge me. I do not live in Savannah; however, my daughter goes to school there and I told her already, if any of her friends ever need car repair, there's ONLY one choice for them, East Coast Car Care with Duane and his crew there! I cannot say enough good things about Chris. On Saturday morning I was sitting in the parking lot of East Coast Car Care with a spare on my car due to waking up to a flat tire that morning. The business was closed so I was trying to figure out where to take my tire next. At that moment Chris pulled up and asked what was wrong. There is NO CIRCUMSTANCE that would ever make me return to this shop. I took it for AC work and after $2000, I picked the car up with the AC still not working. They claimed that the troubleshooting they did would not have identified yet another part that needed replacing. The whole thing felt very 'bait and switch' to me. I guess i asked one too many questions and the owner suggested that i get my father or husband call him for an explanation. As a woman, I guess I am not capable of understanding the rocket science they do over there. Just be sure they add the required amount of oil to your oil changes. After my 168k Hyundai 3.3L V6 went kaput a couple weeks ago, I heard from another mechanic who did the diagnostic and they said they had to add 4 quarts of oil to get it to crank and that the remaining oil was slim and very black. Valves were clicking loud. I'm not saying that they caused the damage, as I have had the car for 10 years and drive it hard, but looking back on my Sept. '23 invoice, they only put 5 quarts in when it requires 6. The SUV has never used oil. I change it at every 5-7.5k interval per the Owner's Manual recommendations. read more

I took my car there after someone referring them to me. My car was displaying a error saying that it had reduced engine power. My brother in law(a mechanic) said that error message usually is a dirty throttle body. East Coast received my car on Wednesday and diagnosed the issue as a bad solenoid switch and the cost would be $956. I approved the repairs and went to pick up my car Friday. I proceeded to start my vehicle and it wouldn't start. I was asked to allow East Coast to re-diagnose my car and to call them Monday. When I called Monday, I was informed that the technician couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car and that a master technician would inspect it and I would receive an answer, after not hearing from anyone for a couple of days, I went up there and was told that my car needed the cam shaft replaced and it would cost another $495.00 to repair my vehicle. It rode good for 2 days and the same error message appeared and the engine light as well. After all the previous issues at East Coast, I decided to take my car elsewhere to a very knowledgeable car repair service and I was informed that the engine in my 2019 vehicle was severely damaged and needed to be replaced. I asked the mechanic if the previous repairs to my cars engine caused the damage and I was told yes. The new engine is going to cost me $10k. read more

I took my daughters car in six weeks ago to have it checked out for not starting. We had the car towed in. I was told it needed a solenoid. I heard nothing for weeks. Called again and was told it needed a starter. Waited several weeks again and called yesterday and was told it needed an alternator, but he had it ordered and would be ready for pickup that afternoon. We drove from Atlanta to pickup and when we got there the truck was still sitting where the tow truck left it. We jumped it off, pumped up the three flat tires and drove the truck home. We have cranked it several times and driven it. The alternator is charging just fine. It may need a starter, but the price of $800 was outrageous. The owner of the business let an elderly couple pump the three tires up with a lighter tire pump, after pushing the car out of a tight spot to even be able to pump up the tires or jump the truck off. He had lied about putting the starter on, lied twice about truck being ready for pickup, tried to keep adding parts to the original quote. I felt he was taking advantage of a single Mom. Very unprofessional, not to mention sleezy, would give negative stars if that was an option. Update: Had my daughters truck fixed for $175 after we were quoted $750ish at this shop. It's been two weeks and truck starts every time and alternator is staying charged with no issues. read more

These people are crooks! Totally did not listen to me when I told them exactly what was wrong with my car (as my uncle is a mechanic and diagnosed my car for me). They misdiagnosed my car and said there was a leak in my radiator ($600 of course), when all I needed was my thermostat valve replaced. They insisted it was a radiator leak, but I insisted it was not, so I had them continue to only replace the valve. I got my car back within 4 hours, however they did NOT replace the valve or do any service on my car, because it was still overheating. I took my car to another place down the road and they diagnosed my problem as the thermostat valve needing to be replaced. I told the 2nd car shop (Autoplex) that I had just gotten that part replaced and they informed me that it was extremely old and that the other place had clearly not replaced anything and also my radiator was NOT leaking at all. I got my car serviced by the other shop and within hours my car was working again because THEY REPLACED THE PART I HAD ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR. Funny how that works. Now East Coast Car Care is trying to lie to my credit card company about what went down as I dispute the bill. I brought my Chevy truck in for repair last week for a transmission leak. They did a nice job of fixing this. While doing the diagnostic, they called and said I needed new brake pads and rotors. It's been a while since I had the brakes serviced, so I thought this was reasonable. What was UNREASONABLE, was the price they charged. $577.90 for front brake pads and rotors. I should have taken it somewhere else to get the brakes done, so my bad for letting them do it. I challenged the price when they quoted it and again when I picked it up, but to no avail. I took my truck there on a Tuesday. The following Monday I called and they had forgot they even had my truck. A few hours later they called and said the price would 302.00 to change a heat sensor and a coolant flush. I approved the work. 10 min later they called back and said they miquoted and it was 428.00. I said let me call you back. I called back and Albert explained the charges and that it included the 75 diagnostic fee. So I approved. Next day I get there to pick up my truck and the price was 510.00. I asked why the difference? He said the 428 didnt include diag fee. Well 428 plus 75 doesnt equal 510 either. Every other place in the surrounding area charges 80-115 for coolant flush, they charged me 190. I truly belive I was taken advantage of. Me and my family have taken our vehicles there for years. I'm not sure of the negative reviews, sometimes I think there was more to the story. I have been going here for years and I trust this mechanic and the owner(he has openly admitted he will get rid of any manager or mechanic who gouges or lies). If you don't believe me all you have to do is look at his parking lot in the lawn cross the street. It is always full of cars which means that people bring their cars to get worked on there. They are not perfect, actually made a mistake on my truck once, but the mechanic owned up to it and made it right. That to me, goes a long way. read more

I arrived on 3/21/22. I was treated very poorly by the manager. I was told I couldn't talk to the mechanic because I might try to get him to do the service on the side. He had never seen me before. I only wanted to explain what I knew about the truck. he ask me to leave and go to a restaurant and he would call me when he found out what was wrong. I chose to stay. Approximately 20 minutes later I seen mechanic driving my truck to the bay to check it out. I felt i needed to explain the problem to the mechanic. I walked outside and down the parking lot to speak to the mechanic. The manager came running out the door and chasin me down the parking lot like he was going to attack me. I walked to the bay where my truck was. Stood outside the bay and told the mechanic that the truck had a loose bolt on the caliber. The mechanic ask me if I knew where the bolt was. I told him no. The manager again treated me as if I was trying to steal something from him. I told him it was my truck and I wanted the mechanic to know who I knew. He ask me if I wanted him to pull the truck out ? Like a bully, as if he was going to refuse me service. I told him I was simply explaining the problem to the mechanic. I have never been treaTed in such of a offensive manner. 10 minutes later truck was fixed and I was charged $156.00 for a $2.00 bolt , and 10 minutes of labor. I paid and left. read more

These guys are terrific. I dropped in without an appointment with a specific request. It was a safety inspection for a perspective employer. There is no money in it for them. Nothing broken. Nothing needing to be fixed. A time consuming task with no meaningful financial reward in it for them. They were exceptional in their greeting, they prioritized me appropriately, I was in and out in no time, and they charged me a VERY reasonable amount. Their facilities are totally appropriate for their business. The staff I encountered had a "Southern Charm". I brought my vehicle in and made the mistake of telling him that I am driving cross country. I need the oil changed and a temp-sensor replaced. I purchased the temp sensor and wire assembly from the dealer and provided that to East Coast. He gave me a two hour estimate. It ended up being 8 hours. So I picked up my truck and headed out of town early the next day. When I made the first gas stopped I thought I would check the oil, etc. I found the temp-sensor was put in the wrong position and the wire assembly was not used. I called and asked for an explanation. He told me they just put the sensor I had on the other location and they didn't need the wire. It did not come to this guy to tell me any of this. During the 8 hours waiting for my truck, I could have bought the other sensor! Since I paid $30 for the wire assembly I asked him to mail it to me. He said that would not be a problem. He took down my mailing address. That was two weeks ago and the wire assembly was not mailed to me. The low review is for lack of professionalism for not informing me of the different work done to my truck, or not calling me to inform me the sensor and wire were for the other port. I was not even informed of the change when I picked up the vehicle. The low review is for lying about mailing the wire assembly back to me. Very disappointed.
