Was uncomfortable until we stopped at the Avocado Bike Shop and they fixed it. After 13 miles my battery died and had to ride 3.5 miles back to the shop with a heavy dead bike. They are supposed to go 30-35 miles... I turned it in as my friends continued with their ride for 2 more hours. Owner insisted on a full refund. Again, super nice people! Initially the staff were very patient but then stated repeating again and again that she either needed to get on now or stay behind because they were running late. With that much pressure I decided to stay back with her as I wasn't going to let a young girl hang out in an unknown place with one unknown male staff in attendance as they were suggesting. When I asked for a refund I was refused as we did not provide 48 hour notice. Reading the cancellation policy "In order to receive a full refund, rides must be cancelled no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled ride time. We are unable to provide refunds for rides cancelled the day of or to guests who fail to show up for their ride." Just to be clear, we did not cancel. We were told get on the horse or we have to leave without you. That is the staff canceling, not me. At no time during this ordeal were we told that we would not get a refund because the staff thought we were taking too long. When I had called for the booking I had specifically said that I had two first time riders that were very nervous and was told that it wasn't a problem. I just got off the phone with the manager Claire who said that "it looks bad" if they delay the ride. If I was a no show or canceled last minute I would totally understand the no refund. What is completely unfair and unprofessional is being told we have to leave without you but not give your money back.

I wasn't keen on bring one down so rentals were the choice. Having several others go in we ordered a good ten bikes of various sizes for the week from Mike's since the were the least expensive. Now these were not top-of-the-line 10-speed, full suspension, titanium bike frames with wide ratio cassettes, no these are simple single gear cruisers for just utility transportation. So not for those looking to do hardcore biking; but to just get around and enjoy the sights these bikes make the grade. Accolades: --Just $25 for the week per bike. That's right. For those scoring at home, that for less than the cost of two milkshakes you can get a solid cruiser for a week. --Free delivery for two or more bikes. --Well maintained, oiled, and strong these bikes had a better ride than I expected. --Cruisers come in 26", 24", 20", 16" in men and unisex each. There are also rentable ride-a-longs, kitty carts, and wagons available. --Service was prompt and on time, the on-line ordering process was straight forward. For simple biking at a good price Mike's deserves a full five stars.

After filling them up at a gas station cart went flat again and stranded little ones several miles away. One adult bike chain came off twice. After calling was told all they could do was replace bikes. New cart Delivered but this time both tires were flat? Bikes need to be checked before delivery. Whoever I talked to got upset when I ask for a refund on one bike and cart. Disappointed with Mike's Bikes. Won't be renting from them again.
