The beach was clean, very wide, sand was nice and soft, good breezes, just lovely! Dogs are allowed on the beach, and parking is free at the access road. People sharing the beach were friendly and polite, and all dogs were tended to and kept under control.

It is within a campground. There is a gift shop, a children's playset, and an outdoor workout area. I loved the workout equipment, it was neat. I didn't go too far into the campground but it looked really nice. They have several trails you can explore. I went on the Sandpiper loop. It was about a mile. It was a bit muddy in spots so you may want to take hiking boots. I saw a deer and some mud crabs along the way. They even have a couple of dedicated places to stop and take a photo of the landscape. This provided a nice easy walk and a place for my pup and I to stretch our legs.

They even provide stations with bags etc. to make it east to be a responsible owner. There are multiple trails, all are easy level. I found that the trail markings and other signage were well above average. One extra touch I found commendable is the scenic spot picture opportunities. Yes, they have a bracket set up to position your phone for the perfect shot. The visitors center is easily accessible and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable park rangers. My only complaint is that the "Avion" trail continues to be closed. Overall, the park is a great way to spend an afternoon commuting with nature.

Our photographer is excellent. She does a wonderful job. We're very pleased to have her. She always makes the best family photos. And this is our favorite site to do it. We highly recommend it not just for pleasure and recreation but also for photos.

11-30-24 Saturday…read more Had out of town visitors and they wanted to go to the beach. I normally go to Buerkes Beach but one of the persons in our party cannot walk far. So I chose this beach based on the high Yelp ratings that proved once again correct. Once we arrived you pay the meter based on the time you plan to be at the beach. I chose two hours. You enter the parking space number and pay $1. per hour which is very reasonable. Gorgeous beach lots of sand that has not eroded away. If it was warmer we would definitely have stayed longer here. Will be back again soon.

This beach was like no other beach I had been to. Being the…read moreexplorative individual I am, I stumbled upon this beach which I thought would be a perfect spot to spend my birthday exploring. Urghhh not so much...!!!! This place is located in a residential area and I drive around on a unbusy Monday being a work day but, it still took me like 30mins to try to find a park just to enjoy the beach. I was thinking I did t make a good choice for a beach day. Anywho finally after spotting a person pull out from a street parking spot, finally I was able to park. Next venture i had to figure out was how to get to the beach now. Because of road blocks, I ended up having to ask 2 men at a hotel and they directed me which way to go. At this point, I'm starting to feel defeated but, I'm determined. At least, close to an hour later...I see the beach. It did had a water sprouting from the ground, a few swings for couples so nice landscaping. Then there was the beach, sadly it was not at all what I had expected as the water was muddy looking. Also the sand-flies were aggressive & everywhere. I sat on a boat for a few minutes checking out the view but, honestly on this day it was not much to enjoy beside the wedding that was about to take place. After only 10mins sitting, the sand-flies won! I left the beach and walked around and went through a restaurant which I noticed a lovely pool and a Tiki Bar next door. So thought I would grab a cocktail to start celebrating my birthday to but, not before getting bite 5-6 times by the very aggressive sand-flies. Warned: The beach does not offer the most easiest access to get to. I would have preferred going to Orange Beach in AL so, for this reason instead of staying the 2 nights I planned on staying...it would t have been worth the money. I only stayed in Hilton Head 1 night!!!!!!! Please put up signage so, people know where to PARK and BEACH ENTRANCE SIGNAGE so, 1st timers will not be defeated in trying to go to the correct area of the beach. It's not fun feeling like you're in a maze when visiting somewhere new.

This was our first visit to Kiawah Beachwalker Park, and it did not disappoint. There is an entrance fee unless you have a Charleston County Park Pass, which we do. The beach is dog-friendly, but it's important to be aware of seasonal rules regarding leash use. I highly recommend checking their official website for the most up-to-date information, as these guidelines can change. https://www.kiawahisland.org/ explore_kiawah_island/beaches.php According to their current policy: Dog Use Area: Between the eastern boundary of the Beach Club and the Ocean Course Clubhouse, dogs are allowed off-leash under control year-round from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dogs must be leashed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in this area. Electronic leashes are prohibited. Owners must stay with their pets, keep them under control, and carry a leash at all times in case it's needed or requested by others or Beach Patrol. Remainder of the Beach (Seasonal): March 1 - October 15: Dogs must be leashed at all times. October 16 - February 28: Dogs are allowed off-leash from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., except in the designated critical habitat area. During all other hours, leashes are required. As with the designated area, electronic leashes are not allowed, and owners must have a leash on hand and maintain control of their pets. Short walk to a board walk that a nice bathroom, showers, water refill station and even a dog bathing area. Very impressive! Short walk to the water. It's was low tide so plenty of beach to walk on. Headed down to the end on the right side about 1 1/2 mile walk. Saw two dolphins and rare birds that were migrating. Off the tide is in the beach area to seat on will be limited. Great place to walk your dog and ride your bike.

We spent time walking up and down the shoreline, listening to the waves roll in, and just taking it all in. The beach felt clean and well kept, and there was plenty of space to spread out without feeling packed in. It made it easy to relax whether you wanted to sit back in a chair, play with the kids, or just wander along the water. The atmosphere really stands out here. It has that perfect mix of family friendly and laid back beach town energy. You see people fishing, kids playing, and others just soaking up the sun. It never felt overwhelming, just a great steady vibe all around. It is also a great spot if you like simple beach activities. Whether it is swimming, shell hunting, or just dipping your feet in the water, everything feels easy and enjoyable. Watching the waves and the open water was easily one of the highlights of the day. Overall this is the kind of place you can spend hours at without even realizing it. Beautiful scenery, relaxing atmosphere, and just an all around great experience. Sunset was definitely the time to visit this gorgeous beach. We got plenty of great photos and got to watch a guy kite surf too. A lot less people were out which was nice and the sunset was one of a kind.

The walk to the beach is easy to moderate while walking thru soft sand, until the beach, where ancient trees lay on their sides, and roots make for a gorgeous view. The day we were here, the beach was littered with the bodies of cannon ball jellyfish, which are surprisingly solid, so watch your feet. Enjoy the temperate water of the Atlantic ocean and the bright South Ga Sun for a perfect afternoon.

Driftwood Beach is pure coastal magic…read more I stopped here during a short business trip to Jekyll Island, and I honestly fell in love with this place. The beach gets its name from the incredible collection of weathered trees and driftwood scattered along the shoreline, creating the most dreamy, almost storybook-like scenery. Jekyll Island has such a fascinating history, and this area is a beautiful reminder of how nature and time continue to shape the island. What was once a thriving forest has gradually transformed into this unique coastal landscape due to erosion and changing shorelines. Walking along the beach surrounded by these beautiful, sculptural trees felt so peaceful and surreal. Add in the friendly locals, Southern charm, and laid-back island atmosphere, and I completely understood why Jekyll Island has such a special charm. I came for business, but Jekyll Island quickly became one of those unexpected places I'll remember long after the trip is over. Driftwood Beach was definitely one of my favorite stops, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.
