When I walked in I was shocked they had camper chair for us to sit in, in a so called "relaxation" room. I literally had to chug down my drink and sweet treats before my massage. Finally the massage. ABSOLUTE worst massage I've ever received. The lady spent more time putting the mint oil infront of my nose than actually massage my neck and shoulders, which was literally suffocating. I was also told that hot stone would be included. I had maybe 5 minutes of hot stone on my back and then another 5 minutes of her massaging my back. I'm carrying around a newborn and toddler all day so that was extremely upsetting. My husband booked this massage as a postpartum gift since I just went through an emergency c section and he just wanted me to have a day of relaxation. I left there extremely upset and frustrated instead of feeling good. I ended up leaving a review that night which I've never left a review in my life. And then they replied and was told in the reply if I was open to it they'd like to discuss this further. I called the spa 3 times and the first time I called I was told I would probably just get a refund and that I would be getting a call back. Every other time I called I was given the runaround and told I would be getting a call back. Finally this morning I called and spoke with the owner. The owner was not nice at all and told me because I left a review she will not be giving me any type of compensation. My stylist wasn't talkative and she would ask me questions for small chit chat but it would end when i answered the question. Blah. Older post: They do a great job at taking appointments and checking to see if your still coming. However the last 2 times i got my hair done i left with neck pain that lasted for weeks. Not only is she very nice, punctual and reasonably priced, she's an extremely experienced electrologist with 20 years. And her location is one of the nicest I've ever been to for electrolysis, being discreet, impeccably clean and comfortable- not at the back of a busy hair salon! Electrolysis is much cheaper and permanent- unlike laser hair removal that doesn't work on light-colored hairs, darker skin, or hairs with very deep roots. Most people have to go to electrolysis after trying laser (but be warned- it takes months for all permanent hair removal to show results since there are multiple follicles). Women or men in New Bern, Havelock, MCAS Cherry Point, or anywhere in Eastern NC who need permanent hair removal should see Linda at Eastern Electrolysis; you won't be disappointed! Her hours were Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am-5pm.
