This location in La Mirada was very convenient for me since it's not far from my home. It is in the mall on Rosecrans/ La Mirada. Park near Wells Fargo bank and enter the two story building . Use stairs or the elevator to the second floor. Head towards the right after you get on the second floor. Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to check in. Our instructor, Kathy was punctual and informative. The class is a combination of video presentation and hands on with a mannequin ( Adult and infant) with Kathy supporting the information. The session was 1 1/2 hours . Test is taken together out loud . ( 100% pass rate guaranteed). You get a printed wallet copy of your certification at the end of class . For continuing education credits (3units) can be collected by going onto a website and paying $5.

They teach and certify first aid BLS ACLS and this is by the American Heart Association-- great!

This is great coaching and teaching. I found it to be highly valuable. They were very easy to work with my schedule and I really appreciate that.

Where can you get up to the second floor??!!! ---Stairs/elevator is between Optometry and Retro Wear! Suggestion...park near there. More convenient. My instructor was Kathy. She was really good at explaining everything in detail and says the important stuff. She also gives information in real life settings. Since everyone was renewing it went by quick. Save a Life CPR class was super user-friendly and straightforward. Very time efficient especially if you've taken this class before and are renewing your certification. They show you a video made by the American Heart Association and you're able to follow along using an adult and infant mannequin. You'll practice giving chest compressions w/ breaths, get a demo on how to use an AED and breath bag, then take a short multiple choice quiz at the end. They also print the CPR e-card out at the end. If you need your BLS certification, Save A Life CPR, is the place to go! I have been to a few different locations in the past and this one has been my far my favorite. The instructor Kathleen is very knowledgeable and clear with her information. Her rationales and teaching make it so easy to remember everything. She answers all your questions and the class goes by so fast. She is very nice and was able to squeeze me in to her class last minute, although they do get full fast. I've taken bls classes and renewals for 6 years now and this is the best class I've taken! Kathy was very clear, concise, and very easy to understand. She followed along the with the dvd using teach back. She keeps you engaged and doesn't overload you with too much information so that you're able to retain all the key things to remember. I've also taken online renewals and didn't feel like i really remembered everything. I found a code online for $5 off. The class ran about 1 hour and 40 min. Would definitely recommend this class! Also the stairs are in the middle of the plaza not directly below the classroom. Thanks Kathy! read more

Excellent experience. Hardest part was finding the stairs. They are not visible from outside. Entrance to stairs is next to Retrowear. There is a second stair near Subway, but it was locked. read more

Save A Life CPR, an official training site for the American Heart Association and has been offering essential life-saving programs for both medical and non-medical professionals in Southern California since 1992. Our programs are designed to give students the confidence needed to recognize and respond to real life threatening emergencies and the skills that can save lives. As an AHA training site, we are dedicated to training the general public in CPR/AED with the goal of increasing survival rates for victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest which claims the lives of approximately 250,000 people in the U.S. every year. I enrolled my son at this daycare when he was only 5-6 months old and not even crawling yet. By his…read morethird day there, he came home with two bruises on his face. I initially brushed it off, but over time he continued coming home with scratches, bruises, and marks on his body on a regular basis. Each time I asked about them, staff were unable to explain how they happened. As a parent, that was extremely concerning. I repeatedly brought my concerns to the staff and administration, but I often felt dismissed. I also asked Jennifer if I could review the camera footage, but I was told recordings were only kept for 24 hours and had already been deleted. Another concern was the lack of communication. When picking up my son, staff rarely provided updates about his day and often seemed rushed or unwilling to discuss concerns. Instead of feeling welcomed and reassured, I frequently felt uncomfortable and unheard. My experience left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that staff were more focused on defending one another than addressing legitimate questions about my child's safety. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this daycare for infants or children who are not yet able to communicate what happens during the day.

He lights up seeing his old teachers and always asks why he can't go there anymore--he even says he wishes he could go back to daycare! Now my youngest attends, and we couldn't be happier. They've been so helpful with his potty training, he naps great there, and he genuinely loves going every day. It gives me so much peace of mind as a parent. I also really appreciate the security--having to enter a code at the first door, wait in the entry area, and then use a second code for access adds an extra layer of safety that means a lot. Plus, the camera access is incredible. I can log in anytime and check on my child, and I love that it's limited to only my child's classroom.
