My experience shopping at Save A Lot located at 1411 Ellis Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi 39204 wasn't pleasant after being overcharged for items despite promotional offers and poorly handled customer service resulting from employee rudeness. And I understand this is not indicative of all save a lot or anyone that works at that Save-A-Lot but one thing I do not tolerate is disrespect. As a former police officer here in Jackson and a US Marine veteran any form of correctional officer at MDOC if you want to be rude and disrespectful currently at me I'll let you talk because I know how to handle situations I don't get mad right then and there. So on Saturday I went into the Save-A-Lot on Ellis Avenue and I bought four Salisbury steak dinners they supposed to been four for $5 I leave there and I didn't realize they charged me $1.49 each okay cool mistakes happen I go back up there that same day and the employee which was very nice on Saturday please on Saturday afternoon was extremely nice I go back up there and they said that the manager's not here I was like okay cool I'll come back tomorrow I mean cuz I understand you know situations I understand I'm very understanding. But when I went up there Sunday afternoon on April 7th at approximately 4:34 p.m. I went and spoke to a different cashier with a blue shirt on she said that she wasn't here yesterday so she don't know and she got to get a manager in a rude voice I was like wow to myself I was like I'm just bringing this to your attention I understand that but I'm just showing you what the receipt says and I took a picture of the sign and everything. So then the manager is a male that comes out the office it looks like that he was being bothered so me thinking looks like he's going to get rude with me so let me just get my phone out of record him so we standing in front of other customers where they can see he looked at my employee told him I was going on he said something about you tripping over 96 cent I had to stop and take a deep breath and I didn't respond to him and he kept repeating that. In actuality yes I was tripping over 96 cent because of the fact one is 96 cent but two he has no clue that I actually am taking care of and paying for where my parents stay including saving for a car including paying for my own place to stay so just imagine that so even I nickel and dime everything. The rudeness I cannot tolerate at all I just was quiet. If he had of not being so rude in front of customers and it would just me and him or you know this other employee I would have let this issue ride and let it alone but one you disrespected in front of other customers and that's something I as a man cannot tolerate because I work in customer service and I am strongly and presenting great customer service to everybody and so when they see you do that what makes them think of you and Save-A-Lot. In addition to save a lot is in a predominantly black area to me you shouldn't even have to be acting towards that way to your own kind at all nobody should and that is one of the reasons why I chose to work in South Jackson believe it or not it's because of that these people deserve great customer service regardless of what somebody's going to regardless of what situation and regardless of what environment that we are in. So it irritates me to the max that he was that disrespectful and what type of area that we live in. I am just truly thankful that I have had the experience in the care and understanding to be respectful to each and every customer regardless of what I'm going through and regardless of what I'm handling right now because I generally care and people are human beings in regardless they get rule with me I would never ever do that because I truly respect each one. And these customers will tell you that. It's unfortunate that the person in charge when this police officer visited the Ellis Ave store that they didn't handle this properly. Before the management changes occurred do to a buy out I was the area supervisor for the Jackson Save a lots. I always preached to my managers that our customers spend about $10K a year with us and we spend thousands on advertising and promotions to get customers! Then why would you chase them away for a few dollars? I have actually helped pay for customers that were short on funds and also have witnessed Jackson police officers buy items for customers and homeless people at Ellis Avenue. Hopefully there new supervisor addresses this . Our Save A Lot stores over all are great stores with great associates. Training and communications are always key for any business. read more

The parking lot is horrible. It was raining and I hit a pot hole so big a tow truck had to pull me out. And get home my meat was spoil
