I called to see what florals they had available before driving to the store, as I live several miles away, and whoever is running the floral department was extremely rude to me. I simply asked about what types of single flower bunches they had, and she said no I cannot tell you that and that she didn't even know what I was meaning. I am a huge fan of the Fresh Market and this location (which is in Ridgeland, Mississippi) is a great location. A lot of people dismiss the Fresh Market as a fancy, upscale, and subsequently overpriced market, but I have to say that this is not a wholly accurate description of the Fresh Market as a whole. Some things are definitely a bit on the higher priced side, but it should be said that often (but not always), you get what you pay for. Also, the Fresh Market has some pretty solid specials on a regular basis. I will also say that their chicken, pork, and beef is all top shelf. I also have had their seafood and was impressed with the quality of those, as well. Their baked goods are also pretty stellar. The absolute cutest grocery story with an amazing selection of seasonal foods and snacks. It feels like a mix between a Trader Joe's and Whole Food! While I highly recommend the snacks and canned/dry food, I've now had two unfortunate experiences with their perishable foods. My first experience was with expired/sour oat milk and cold pressed juice. Turns out the expiration was 1-2 week prior to my purchase. while I blame myself for that incident for not being more careful when purchasing products past their expiration date, I decided to give the store another chance today. Today, I purchased their freshly prepared Mac and cheese, and as soon as I got home to cook it (literally only 30 minutes after purchase), I open the box to the awful smell of spoiled cheese/dairy products. I want to love this store so much as it's so cute, but I just ask the employees to please pay better attention to the expiration of their perishable foods as I believe this store has so much potential to be incredible. read more

I am very disappointed and upset with my recent encounter with Fresh Market. This week, 6 days before Christmas, I ordered their Xmas holiday brunch on line, which was to include a quiche, bowl of fresh fruit, and 4 pastries. My boyfriend went to pick it up as scheduled on Friday around 2:00. He went to the fresh food department and was told they had sold out. He told them it was pre ordered and showed them the order number. And I kid you not , they responded, " we have a few slices we can give you ". He obviously said no, because we ordered a whole quiche. So they made no attempts to rectify this mishap and of course that left us in a bind with no food for the Xmas morning brunch we had planned. When they first opened the seafood selection was great but has continually gone down hill in recent years. Now the majority of seafood is farm raised which I refuse to purchase instead of wild caught. On the rare occasion that they have wild caught that actually looks nice in the case as soon as it's pulled out you really get a whiff of the fish smell. Last two times I purchased fish there sockeye and yellow fin it was not fit to eat with an over whelming fish smell. I'm not sure if this is an issue with their source or their cooler. TFM offers great local produce and prepared eats that are absolutely DELISH! They ask have a tremendous selection in stock, always! The employee are above average and seem to truly care about (and put in the work) making the store a great place to shop. Finely, I've never run into a long line at TFM. When it comes to the prepared meals and salad bar, this place is anything but fresh. Every time I go, it looks like the food has just been sitting out for days. I'm the type of person that can handle fairly unappealing foods - i eat leftovers probably well after their recommended expiration date. But this is the most unappetizing stuff I've ever seen. I come here often for lunch because I work in the area and it's so hard to pick something to eat because NOTHING looks good. Everything looks like it's got the potential of giving you food poisoning. I mean, can't you stir some things around and at least try to prevent the food from looking congealed? I thought the salad was a safer bet to go with, but no no! I tossed some "cooked" corn mix on mine and when i took a bite, it was all frozen. It was gross. The meat and produce look fine, though I've never bought much in that department. And they do have a decent selection of packaged foods and other hard to find items. I just think they don't give much of a shit about making their overpriced "gourmet" foods look at all edible. Fresh Market is sort of Ridgeland's equivalent to Whole Foods. First of all, let me say-- I live in Jackson so it's pretty rare of me to head all the way to Ridgeland for groceries. But, I do try to eat healthy, organic and local whenever possible and Fresh Market seems like it would be a great place to be able to do that. I shop relatively often at Renaissance, the fancy shopping "mall" where Fresh Market's located, so I've stopped in FM a few times. First of all, this store is crazy dark. Like, why is it so dark? I don't understand why it's so dark. It's like grocery shopping in a Hollister. Second of all, this might be the most expensive grocery store I've ever been to. It makes Whole Foods look almost like the Piggly Wiggly. Don't even bother shopping here for your produce unless you just got a biggggg paycheck. Frankly, it isn't worth it in my opinion. You can get better, and more local, produce at the Farmer's Market. Third, I've found most of the employees to be relatively unhelpful. Rarely do they ask if you need any help, and when they do, they haven't been super friendly. Overall, I have never found Fresh Market particularly impressive or worth it. When I need good, quality groceries, I'll stick to local favorites like Rainbow Co-Op. read more

The Fresh Market falls in the category of - You get what you pay for. What do I LOVE to get at The Fresh Market? Their fresh ground spices and any other spices that you can't find elsewhere, their cheese selection, their bakery, recently their all natural lotion and soaps, the fancy butter section and the top reason: the butcher counter. You just can't get this quality of meat anywhere else. Besides having high quality beef, their stuffed chicken breasts and pecan crusted chicken breasts are perfect when you want something a step up, but not extravagant. And to me, staying home and having delicious pecan crusted chicken for $8 per person doesn't break the bank, but feels like you're eating at a nice restaurant. And for the soda fans out there - my boyfriend enjoys their selection of root beers and the like. read more

For years I would stop at Fresh Market in Greenville, SC., Nashville, TN., and Birmingham, AL.. I am happy that they have been in the Jackson market for several years now. This is one of three places I ever buy meat.....They simply have a great selection of fresh meat at reasonable prices. Their produce is good, but then so is Kroger's. Love Fresh Market for most things, but picked up a couple of wraps recently that didn't cut it. First was a spicy wrap. Chicken was extremely dry and buffalo sauce was not good. Second was a chicken salad wrap that had too many bones in it. Won't be buying either anytime soon. Flavor for chicken salad is great but bones are. Real turnoff. Stopped by last night on the way to the hotel... was feeling like something healthy and salad like, saw The Fresh Market, and decided to stop in and check it out! The store is really nice, has dark wood everywhere, and was playing classical music (ooo fancy!) It reminded me of a mix of a Whole Foods and a Sprouts. Whole Food prices and like sprouts, It has the big barrals of nuts, candys and coffees that you can package up yourself. I ended up opting for a sushi roll and a salad.. The sushi was pretty good for super market sushi! Had nice peices of fish, and the pre packaged salad was fresh.. If only I would have seen that the dressing was seperate... sadness :( Can't wait to go back to check out what else they have! read more

Fresh Market is a cool little grocery store situated on the edge of the Renaissance. They have a great selection of organic and local food. The prices can be pretty high, but if you keep up with their specials and sales you can actually buy some items for the same price as Target or Walmart. Their Little Big Meal Thursdays are my favorite! Every Thursday the Fresh Market designs a meal and sets all the ingredients you'll need out in a small stand. You grab a brown paper bag, pick the ingredients you like (Sometimes for example if a sauce is involved you can pick from a few different flavors), and take them to the counter. It's always $20 for everything, and makes cooking dinner at home a breeze! The meals change from month to month, so be sure to visit the website to see what they're offering. I work in the area, so I love to walk over to The Fresh Market for lunch. DON'T come here to buy groceries. You'll be mad because you can't find basic needs, and what you do have will cost a fortune. With that being said, the few, niche market items are all pretty good. I am writing on behalf of my mother. She adores this place ever since it first opened. Her favorite Saturday routine is to wake up early (before the non existent crowd) to shop for her weekend grocery list. She manages to spend hours in the small store talking to community neighbors and the friendly staff. She proceeds to meticulously pick fresh flowers which is then followed by friendly banter with butcher to select the 'perfect' meat option for Sunday dinner. She decides on what coffee she will ground and bag then tediously pick each vegetable that will accompany the main dish. Finally, she goes to the bakery section to pick up fresh blueberry muffins as her morning treat as she drives back home from her busy early weekend morning ritual. I see some reviews they have really daily fresh poke. I made an hour trip to get there just baca use of fresh poke. Unfortunately, there has not much choices to choose from, the only poke I see is dry out, it looked like the left over from yesterday. So I bought the seaweed with tuna. It tasted like the regular seaweed, nothing special. I guess maybe I was too late or something. I will give it a try next time so can go early for the fresh poke. read more

Very small grocery store with a convenient location. Decent selection, but I give it the 2 stars for the price. $5 for a 6oz container of hummus?! Even Whole foods sells the same product for $2 or $3. A price increase of over 200% is simply absurd. The frozen vegetable section can not even be called a section as it is just a handful of very overpriced products. I recall a small bag costing $8... I'll look elsewhere.
