This location is never busy and is clean. They now have online ordering and home delivery. What I love best is the DRIVE THRU PHARMACY. What a genius idea and so good for disabled, parents with children or people who don't want to walk through the whole store to get their prescription! read more

This used to be my go to store. In the past few months the store has been rearranged and I find it very very disorganized . I spend so much time wandering around trying to find product. Not intuitive at all. Prices are also very high. The produce department is not great. Went to Safeway to finish my order and everything was super fresh, lots of stock snd choices and very organized. So I have now switched to Safeway as my number one store. read more

I only have good things to say about this location. Staff is friendly. I had some issues with recipes On the email advertisement and wrote in to them ... received e mails right back and they fixed the problem. And the drug store staff is outstanding. I often come here on Thursdays for lunch. I enjoy their deli and bakery. However, I recently had an incident there, and it was not dealt with well, so I cannot say they have the best customer service. Try their mac and cheese and their broccoli coleslaw. Probably the best items. They often have samples of their sandwiches to try. read more

I cannot stand going to Safeway where the customer service is terrible so I was blown away at Save On on Ottawa Street in PoCo when everyone was greeting and smiling at you. The staff are so nice and friendly and the quality of the food is great as well. read more

I generally like this store. Customer service is usually pretty good. They are not the cheapest place in town, but I watch the flyers and they match other flyer prices. The reasons I can't give 5 stars: shopping carts! Theirs are so old and beat up. Invest in some new ones! Young staffers are often lacking training and customer service skills - One evening there were 3 teenage boys (employees!) at one till looking at customers and giggling. The cashiers sometimes leave my bags on the counter and don't put them in the cart for me- if I want that I'll shop at superstore for less money! I have had great customer service in the bakery though! Just want to add that once again I had great service in the bakery. I wanted a cake size that wasn't on display and they made one up for me! read more

I've been debating writing a post for a couple of days now, and despite allowing some time to pass, I have to admit, I am no less bothered. On Thursday night, April 23rd, I was fortunate to have been surprised by my boyfriend with tickets to the Canucks playoff game that night for my birthday. While at the game, we saw Darrell's Deals on the jumbotron to bring in our playoff tickets from that night and receive the advertised Western Family frozen pizza for free before April 28th. What a great deal, we thought. On Friday, April 24th we were heading out to the Port Coquitlam location, so we brought our tickets with us, and checked at customer service that it would be a simple transaction: just show our tickets and the cashier would scan the coupon taped to the register to redeem our free pizza. We thought that would be easy enough, so we made our pizza selections, picked up some other items on the list, and headed to the cash register. That was where the trouble began. The coupon taped to the register described the eligible playoff game as Game #5 (which was the game on Thursday night). But our tickets, which were purchased from a Season ticket holder, indicated that they were for "Round 1, Home Game #3" (again, that's Game #5, the game we had JUST attended where we saw the deal advertised. Game #5 and Home Game # 3 were, and are, the same game). The cashier, Natalia, could not understand that the two games were in fact the same, and began to become agitated that we were trying to scam the store (for $3.49 frozen pizza). She said she would need a manager's approval to "make an exception" to use tickets from a different game (again, it wasn't a different game). The manager came over and also made a big deal about making an exception for us, and the cashier started to ring the pizzas through. Then, she RIPPED the tickets without warning and tried to use the half of the tickets with the barcode as the coupon for the pizza. Obviously, since the tickets were not designed to be coupons but were just proof of being in attendance at the game, that had no effect on our bill and she again began to become agitated that we were trying to scam the store. She placed the half of the tickets that she had ripped into her till and then asked for our half of the tickets back. She wrote a bunch of gibberish on the back to indicate that we had already used them to redeem our free pizzas before handing the tickets back to us. Now, 1 - at no point did anyone indicate that the tickets would be ripped. The sign taped to the register, as well as the lady we spoke with from the customer service desk, both indicated that they would just need to initial the back of the tickets, which would have been fine. They were a birthday gift and the first playoff game that I and my boyfriend had been to together so they were of rather significant sentimental value to us, so the fact that they ripped the tickets in the first place was a bit of an experience on its own. But 2 - to have been accused to trying to scam the store out of $3.49, and to have been told repeatedly by both the cashier and the manager that they were basically doing us a favour by "making an exception" was beyond insulting, especially considering we were buying several other items. I can honestly say that this was the worst grocery store shopping experience I've ever had, and I can't say I'll ever make the mistake of shopping here again. read more
