Some people may think the demeanor of the employees are rude or intimidating, but honestly? I get it. The man who usually takes care of tossing the plastics and cans is quiet but friendly and fast. The woman is very understanding in my experience when I accidentally removed the labels off the water bottles I collected from work (I didn't realize they had to be left on), and she informed me to leave them on but she accepted my recycles the one time. I haven't removed the labels since LOL In my experience, she seems to have slowly warmed up. I like saying hi to her when I go take my recycling. I think I'm getting the expected money's worth for what I bring in, I'm very content. So long as it doesn't end in a landfill, that's all good to me! I know the other issue people have brought up is that many homeless folks hang around the area (57 south exit), but I see them try and keep the area clean to the best of their ability given their circumstances. Quiet people, but they have more human decency and kindness than many other people out there in the world. They have a place to stay under the shade during triple digit heat and seem to do their best to not deter recycling patrons. There's an alarming amount of homeless people hanging around here. It looked like a scene from walking dead except homeless people. As soon as I parked my car three of them looked at me one of them even pointed. I already had a bad feeling, and id rather avoid any type of conflict. (Especially for $25 dollars worth of recycles) I'm sure they offer great service, and willing to help out but honestly the crowd of zombies made me go to a different location. read more

I came here due to the convenience of the location and because my normal recycling place was closed. The price was pretty comparable to other places but paid a little bit less than the place I normally go to. This wasn't a big issue to me due to the convenience of the location. The lady who weighed my recyclables was a little bit rude and didn't notice me at first but it was really hot out so I don't blame her too much. It wasn't busy at all when I went since I was the only customer. Overall a good recycling place if you're in a hurry! read more

This recycling center is located right next to a wooded area. When I went there, a group of transients happened to be sitting in that wooded area very close to where I went to separate my bottles and cans. No big deal on that as it's LA County. Then one who was sitting up pulled out what looked and sounded like an Airsoft pistol and started firing it straight ahead while another one chuckled. Confession----I love been carting around my recycling in my trunk for the past few days ... Procrastinating, especially where it involves carrying around "garbage"--not very like me. So today, I was out visiting a friend in San Dimas and thought, "this is enough!" So I turned to Yelp to find a local recycling place still open (at ~3pm). Now, this was also my first experience utilizing this type of recycling service (I've always done the reverse vending machines). So, I can't comment on how competitive their amounts are, though the couple ahead of me voiced that they weren't thrilled--but I can review off of everything else. So why my 5 stars?... 1) The attendant was all-around great. He was attentive to every customer in a speedy manner (during my time there 4 different parties showed up). He was also very friendly and didn't have any issue with answering all of my "newbie" questions, while giving me a brief education on some of the finer recycling facts I wasn't privy too. 2) They provide considerate amenities--hand sanitizer, water and soap, a plethora of readily available sorting receptacles out and available, and two types of dumpsters for any materials you can't redeem (but want recycled) and for just straight garbage. 3) Lightening fast. I was in and out (along with all 4 other parties) in just a few minutes...the most time I spent was solely me emptying my bags into each sorting receptacle. I've been coming here for quite some time. After today, i will not be going back. The women who works there is very very rude! She was throwing our bottles/cans out without telling us why. She got loud with my mom after my mom nicely asked why she wasn't including the cans/bottles with the rest. she said one of our bottles had liquid in it and we couldn't throw it out because it was going to attract bees. yeah okay that place itself attracts a bunch of things for how dirty it is around there, what is one bottle with liquid going to do? she seems very miserable with her job and we also heard she is always rude to the customers. why would anyone want to come to a place when they are getting poor customer service? I may be wrong, but it seems like the owner is a man named Arman, i was looking at his responses to other customers and he seems very rude as well, so i can understand why his workers are as welll this place has horrible customer service and I don't recommend anyone coming here and giving them any kind of business. I'm going to be generous and give this location 4 stars. Full disclosure, I arrived 18 minutes before closing, and I imagine they did not expect anyone or were ready to go. A woman was sweeping who was unfriendly and finally asked with frustration in her tone what I had and if it was sorted. I then asked if they were open for business. She looked confused. Then a gentleman appeared, and I showed him what I had in my trunk, and he said, oh, it's only a few bags, sure I can help you. The woman remained annoyed in her response; my transaction was over, and she handed me money for my recycling. Then with an unpleasant tone said, next time, park over there. Well, ma'am, next time, have a better disposition and approach when talking to customers. Possibly she was tired and ready to go home, but I didn't do anything to create that unpleasant reality. I decided I'd offer feedback, and hopefully, she has had a better day since this exchange. read more

Yesterday though I had the best experience and realized every time I come here the people are very nice and accommodating. I appreciate the pleasant courteous service. The only drawback is limited parking but it always works out. read more

Stopped by twice today (7/10/23) at 12:30 pm and 2:50 pm; both times, there were no employees present and everything was shut. The sign states that they close for lunch between 1-1:30 pm, but there was nobody there outside of the indicated lunch hours. Called the number for the business multiple times but line was busy. Fast and friendly service. Weigh only recycle center. The only drawback is they pay little for non crv, but the prices for crv is very good. Comparable to the other place I was going to but there, I was putting them in a machine one by one. I should have found this place sooner. Coming back every time from now on. There is a SCAM going on. The guy with the long hair is running shorting the customers and putting in money in the tip JAR!!!! I just went there to turn my bags of recycling and notice the guy that was taking in the recyclables with the long hair is putting money in the tip jar. I did not hear the lady that was in front of me or notice seeing her giving the guy with the long hair a tip. So that was weird but I didnt think any of it until I notice I got the same amount of money for 22 bags of recycling then last time with 16 bags. I cant see the scale as the guy has it hidden in the dark so we are just trusting the guy to put down the right amount for the money. It wasnt until I left the area but where i was parked I can see the guy which he just put more money in the Tip Jar which I did not give him any tip. I am regular customer to this recycling location so I count my bags of recycling and with the amount of money I get should be around the same. So this time having having more recycling bags that are completely filled should be getting more money but I got the same and with the guy putting money in the tip jar after I left knowing I did not tip him. read more

To Affected Green Team Recyclers: I went about a week ago to Green Team Recycling. The Hispanic couple employee that owns a small dog is cheating customer's weights. I weight my materials with a commercial grade scale that has been recently calibrated by official contracted Los Angeles Weights and Measures point. I weighed 28.3 pounds (measured in lbs) of aluminum cans that are all CA CRV crushed with 39.6 pounds (measured in lbs) of all CA CRV plastic number 1 (clear plastic). I poked my head in the building to see the first weight which I saw was 29.8 pounds with a orange basket that is pre-marked with a 1.5 label which is the tare. I was told not to look inside because it is employees only. The receipt or ticket came out to the following: 17.8 pounds of cans minus 1.5 tare (weight of basket)= 16.3 pounds of cans 7.5 pounds of plastic minus 1.4 tare= 6.1 pounds of plastic 6.8 pounds of plastic minus 1.6 tare= 5.2 pounds of plastic 3.8 pounds of plastic minus 1.7 tare= 2.1 pounds of plastic Total of cans 16.3 pounds of cans and 13.4 of plastic. I was shorted 12 pounds of aluminum cans and 26.2 pounds of plastic. I got the ticket and refused to accept this low amount of payment and requested for my right to get the material back. I got refused and thrown the money at me. I told them that I am going to report them. I arrived 15 minutes before the stated close time. Went immediately to get the baskets to put recyclables in, and the woman working there said we are closed. Don't post hours of operation, then close earlier. Quite upsetting to check hours ahead of time, then to load the vehicle up and drive over, only to be told we are closed at 15 minutes before the posted closing time. I moved back to the San Gabriel Valley about a year ago. I used to hate taking my cans and bottles to the recycling center because it was huge, crowded, dirty, and had some if the rudest people I've ever encountered working there. That all changed after I moved here and found Save the Earth. Now it's quick and easy to trade my empties for cash in a nice, clean environment run by knowledgeable, friendly people. As others have mentioned, it's a little hard to find the first time as it is tucked away behind a gas station, and there doesn't seem to be any parking specific to it. It's a bare bones operation in what looks to be an old shipping container. But it's efficiently run, and the staff are friendly and helpful, explaining how it all works to newbies and chatting with the regulars. It's a good place. read more

I came in this past Friday evening, around 5PM, and was out before 6PM. My roommate and I filled up about 5 tubs of plastic bottles and half a tub of aluminum cans for a total of $27.20. When my roommate and I first arrived, we asked the employee for some guidance and he told us that we just had to fill the tubs with our recyclables. After about 15 minutes of sorting, the employee weighed our items and sent us on our way. The process was pretty standard and the employee was fairly accommodating. The employee seemed a little tired, but it was towards the end of his shift on a Friday, so I wouldn't expect much else. I would definitely come back here again. read more

This review is going to be based of my experience several days ago. I Found this location and saw the great reviews on yelp and had to give this place a try. The recycling facility is behind the gas station it's kind of hidden but I promise it's there. You can quickly pull aside if you need to unload a lot but don't worry there's free parking behind the recycling location. The price chart is posted right in front of the door so you know what your getting. And I have to say this place is first time friendly and great service. The gentleman helped me sort my plastics, cans and glass into these large bins so they can weigh them. As he was weighing them he was verbally telling me how much. While I was standing in line to get my cans weighed, it seem to me like there's tons of regulars that come to this location. I will definitely be back. read more

The service here is always surprisingly great. The man who runs the place will sometimes even help you unload your bags of cans to speed up the weighing process. Everything is weighed here, so no individual scanning of barcodes is required. I normally avoid these weight-based centers because they tend to pay less than $0.05 per can, but this place pays fairly. Also, he pays out in cash! It's so convenient getting cash in return for a trunk full of cans in a matter of minutes! read more

They use to be great, new business owner was rude on the phone. I arrived at the recycling center at 5:15pm with a car full of recycling and according to their hours they do not close till 6:00pm. But the employee stated no money and if the money does not come in within the next few minutes they would have to close. Called the main number and the business owner just picked up and right away said all their recycling centers are closed and then hung up. Not even a hello or what I was calling about. Total rip-off. This was my first time here and wanted to see how honest they would be. I purposely bought 96 glass bottles and the first thing this guy said was that they only pay the crv which that is all I wanted. I was expecting $4.80 but received $3.89. For me it is not that they were off almost a dollar but if they are honest which they are not. I don't know how they have all 5 stars, maybe they wrote them themselves or had friends or family, hey that is what dishonest people do. read more

Amazing! I went here today around 4:00pm. It's hidden sorta behind the gas station so make sure not to pass it. You can park anywhere and just unload. It was quick, easy, and fair. The two men working were very kind and walked me through everything. He explained the prices to me and made me feel welcome. This will be my new go to place! If you want fast and honest service come here. They weigh your cans & bottles in front of you and do the math for you. So you don't feel like you're possibly getting ripped off. They have a fair policy so I encourage those looking for a new recycling place to come here! I love coming here to recycle! It's fast, easy, and friendly. All you do is separate your recyclables into the containers (already provided) and then they weigh it and give you the money. The prices per pound, for each of the different material, is posted outside so you know what you are getting, and they do the math right in front of you so you know you are not getting cheated.
