The sales tax in Kearny is crazy (i do not know if it's only for liquor/wine), but I really like this location because they usually have whatever you are looking for in stock. The owners are also friendly people, willing to help with whatever you need. Their prices are easily competitive with other stores, even right in the neighboring areas. Sure, in my other review, I say Total Wine has better prices. It's not by much though, and the variety at Kearny Discount is good. It's become my number one alternative if I can't make it to Rivers Edge or West Orange TW. Also, sometimes I don't feel like walking around a warehouse to get one or two things. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the cardboard case for the 6pk of beer had mold fuzz growing on the inside, and the beers were 2 YEARS PAST THEIR EXPIRATION DATE!!! Is this a common practice? To sell old stuff to unsuspecting patrons? Well, lesson learned. It cost me a few bucks, and it cost them a repeat customer. Shame on them.

I have…read morealways heard liquor for weddings to be super expensive so when I finally spoke with the person In charge (I forget his name sorry) I was pleasantly surprised but the cost of alcohol. He was super polite and respectful and answered all my questions . The day of the wedding I didn't even have to think twice about the alcohol since they delivered everything on time. We had ended up having a lot of alcohol left over and some weeks later I even got a check for unopened bottles they had taken back ( which is awesome that they do) I was honestly so surprised by their honesty. If the owners really wanted the store to become a bigger presence (or at the very least have more than one picture on their yelp page) he/she should consider cleaning the dust that covers a large amount of their spirits and improve their feng shui.

There is adequate street parking and they have a small lot behind the store. Be careful not to park in the lot next to the liquor store, it belongs to the real estate agency and there are plenty of signs warning that your vehicle will be towed. While there are some cheaper options in the area I use this liquor store because it is convenient and they have all the usual needs (ice, lemons and limes , etc.).
