By far, Savers is the best of the best when it comes to thrift stores. Yes they are a bit pricey, but keep in mind, prices are at an all time high for everything. Savers is well organized, awesomely merchandised, a department for everything, not to mention they have very trendy and classy clothes, shoes, outwear, coats and much more. speaking from experience-its hard to find nice clothing for plus size women in traditional brick and mortar stores. Saver's is organized by size and style. The shopping experience is well worth the trip. Savers is cleaner, larger, brighter, and better merchandised than your typical thrift store. All that means, be prepared for higher prices than your typical thrift store. It has the best selection of household items--furniture, housewares, and kitchen gadgets--than other area thrift stores. "Best" in terms of quality and amount of items. Clothing is better quality also: other places often have stained or well worn pieces. Savers seems to weed those out. This location is in affluent west St. Louis County, which could account for the better inventory and higher pricing. read more

Stumbled on this location while driving to Ballwin. Store is spacious, well organized and well stocked. Lots of home decor including seasonal decor. I didn't find anything that struck my fancy on this particular visit. And believe me, I looked! Will have to come another time. read more

I don't know why I continue to come to this place. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. Was roaming the racks today when a commercial had come on overhead inbetween songs and it was then translated in Spanish. An EMPLOYEE mentioned to a customer how the Spanish drives her crazy and how it's "too much", overkill, and how it should just be in english. Came off as incredibly racist and inappropriate to be saying... at her workplace. If you don't like it, fine. Keep it to yourself. Spanish is the second most spoken language in America and there's a strong Spanish community in STL- deal with it. ‍‍‍‍ read more

Aside from removing the dressing rooms, my biggest complaint is that I've been insulted by staff, twice recently. Went in there once on a day I was a little disheveled and the female cashier checking me out kept looking me up and down, and counterfeit-checked all my bills when I paid (have never had this issue before). Another lady, when I went last time, asked me if I was a part of today's discount for 55+/senior citizens when I'm twenty years younger and clearly not, and I've never been mistaken for anywhere near that age. read more

Clean, organized and self checkouts are the positives. Pricing on clothes has edged towards new prices so not as much savings at Savers. If you purchase something electronic you need to test before you leave because you won't be able to bring back defunct equipment and as a consequence potentially lose a chunk of change. Beware of all the dollar tree items marked at $3 or more. If it says Greenbriar on the tag it came from Dollar Tree. The senior staff members seem to be less friendly and with an edge. Extremely irritating is the employees won't assist you when donating items. If I'm giving you free stuff the least you can do is help get it into a cart. This is FOR PROFIT store. The way you can determine in MO is whether you pay tax on the purchase. Taxed merchandise = For Profit. I like the store but pricing has become close to retail. Without a 20% coupon I wouldn't purchase as much. Coupons can be obtained by making a donation. read more

I loved Saver's when they first opened, but as they gained popularity they also raised prices significantly. True they are much larger and cleaner than many thrift stores, but pricing is not what it once was. Stores with new inventory like Target or Kohls often charge around the same prices, especially on clothing. read more

I quit shopping here about 6 months ago when prices went up, by up I don't mean a few dollars per item, I'm talking jacked up HUNDREDS of dollars for one used clothing item. I bargain hunt on eBay and Amazon now, where prices are generally based in reality. There are a lot of discount stores that sell NEW designer clothing for hundreds of dollars cheaper than savers is trying to sell their donated used items. It's a shame, used to be a fun place to shop. What is wrong with them? Did they get a new delusional manager? Is their price gun broken? Is corporate forcing this for some weird money grab so they can buy a summer home? (Hint: people shopping at savers won't pay that price so just stop.) Anyway, stopped in to find a 4th of July shirt and found they haven't changed. I walked right out and drove to Marshall's and spent way less than the price of one jacket at savers on an entire update to my summer wardrobe. I'd be embarrassed if I owned this store. Before moving to St Louis, I didn't know what Savers was. But this is the place that I now shop for all my clothes whether for work or just going out and about. I donate there regularly as well and can always find the best deals. I found a 20 gallon long aquarium with top and heater for my hermit crabs for $20. I find amazing games for my classroom and much more. This is the place to go and it is clean and the donations go to help other non-profits. read more

I bought a Cricut for my daughter. I took it home and found out it is completely unusable. I returned to the store and the manager John would not even discuss it. "We don't do returns. I want to start out by saying that this Savers is huge, clean, and very well organized. I also like the self check out registers, it just expedites the process. The employees are somewhat friendly, depending on which way the wind is blowing that day, at least that's been my experience. When I first visited this Savers I found their prices to be fair and reasonable, but within just a couple of months their prices have risen dramatically. I think I could probably purchase some of these items new for a better price. This is USED, donated merchandise, probably a lot of it from Goodwill that they're trying to sell for a huge profit. They have no markdowns or color coded sales the way that Goodwill and St. Vincent De Paul do. They offer 30% off every Tuesday to seniors and an occasional coupon here and there if you're a member. Considering Savers is for profit (charges a sales tax), I'm really surprised they won't accept returns, whereas Goodwill (non profit) allows 14 days for returns, money back. Savers is my jam! I've loved this place for years. I almost don't want to give it a review because I want to keep this gem for myself! I love that it's much cleaner than most thrift stores. I love that things are organized by shorts, jeans, capris, summer dresses, formal dresses, active wear, shirt sleeve, long sleeve, etc. you get the idea. It makes it so much easier to find exactly what you're looking for. And they seriously have EVERYTHING! The staff is nice, so that's another plus. If you join their rewards club, you get emails about sales they run. They often run 50% off sales on specific days. Go early though, because it gets packed! read more

Big, spacious, and brightly lit, this was a new thrifting experience for me -- no Savers in the south. A nice selection of books, several aisles of toys, but not a lot of quality clothing that I could find. Left empty-handed, might be back if it's convenient. read more

Savers stores are owned and operated by the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) organization. I've donated to them, but never hooked them up with Savers stores. This place is huge. All decked out with Halloween costumes . . . if you need that -- go HERE! There are costumes for all ages and sizes. Lots and lots of them! Plus lots of Halloween decorations. Huge paperback book section. Their policy on the books is: if it $7.49 or less on face value, you pay $1.99. That's a great deal. There were also deals on children's books. Lots of knick-knacks. I saw a beautiful 10-inch fluted glass pie plate for $1.99. Lots of other kitchen things. Many kitchen things bagged up appropriately and hanging on a wall. Good organization overall. Children's toys, games, balls, stuffed animals. Seasonal decorations. Furniture, framed prints, albums and picture frames. And clothes, and clothes, and clothes. Beware, most of their sales are misleading. Like today's sale which is their summer clearance didn't include "activewear" which is what they label most of their kids' clothing. There's no reason why kids t-shirts and shorts which should be summer clearance are not included. The manager was matter of fact and quite rude. Their regular prices are ridiculous on most things as you can shop sales and clearance at retail stores and get many things brand new for less. I like resale shops because of bargain pricing and reusing items that have plenty of life in them still but beware when shopping Savers. Their regular prices are steep on many things especially anything name brand is $7 and up. Many people donate their items there thinking it's directly helping a charity. It only helps a charity if the charity is actually doing a donation drive otherwise they donate to some local charities the amount of money that most businesses do in a year. They are a FOR PROFIT business. Nothing wrong with that, just don't want people to be fooled. read more

I went into Savers for the first time a couple days ago....I think they are trying to be a high up Goodwill. The prices are really ridiculous for second hand things. I have donated here and enjoyed shopping at this thrift store for a few years, but things have changed recently. A great thrift store with a huge selection and wide variety of goods! I enjoy coming here because I always manage to find something I need! This is a large store with a plethora of clothing, shoes, accessories, books, home goods, toys, and other knick knacks. The store is well organized, generally clean, and simple to navigate. They seem to accept all donations. Which should be the norm when accepting "donations". People are giving you things for free! Goodwill is a corporation run by a man trying to get rich from your old things. DO NOT confuse it with a charity. Give them nothing if trying to donate. I'm really disappointed in Savers. I used to love going there and while I still enjoy it I find myself getting frustrated. I expect the store to be pricier than others because it is better maintained but lately the prices are astronomical. I am so excited about this place and so impressed! I am a big thrift store fan but I've never had one impress me as much as this one. Extremely organized and clean. My kids had the time of their lives looking at all the toys. The clothes were all hung up perfectly and organized. The books were sorted out by type. Really cool!
