I didn't take photo here but all in all a decent selection, organized (not the most organized compared to some of their other locations) but it's a prime area for thrifting. The offerings here are abundant but we didn't find any of the brands we were personally looking for. They do have a lot of Nike, work gear, yoga brand items that you'd find from target. The new registers are INSANE. They lockup on coupons or anything it deems to be shady even when it's you scan fast or log in. Employees act like you took the teeth out of their mouth. I spend a LOT in there regularly and really looking elsewhere now. The lines are now down the end of the store since it takes so long to checkout. This is one of my favorite thrift stores and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the parking can be horrendous it gets so crowded. Lines can sometimes be long too but the fantastic stuff I've picked up here makes it worth it. I scored an electric recliner in excellent condition for $79!! It is so comfortable and looks brand new. They even helped me bring it out and put it in my truck for me. I also just got 2 mirrors with beautiful wood frames here that are huge and I only paid $10 a piece. Lots of furniture, books, clothes, appliances etc. I love this place. read more

Used to be such a good deal with real bargains. No longer.. prices are crazy for a so called thrift store. DVDs are $4. You can get all the dvds ya want for $1at yard sales or ebay. Some tshirts were 7.99, 10.99 etc. Last 4 visits bought nothing. Sad. Used to love it here. read more

This Hanover savers location is running a blatant scam regarding exchanges. Clearly they are activly trying to stop of discourage exchanges. I have been a shopper at this location for many years and because they have no dressing rooms I have frequently had items to return. For many years I made my exchanges without any problems, none, not one problem. Until last week when I attempted to exchange two woman's shirts within the two week exchange period. The cashier that came over to do the exchange walked away with my clothes over to another woman, she returned and stated the clothes reeked of smoke and there was no way they were taking them back. I assure you they did not smell of smoke or anything else. I asked for the manager who was the woman the cashier had walked over to. I said these do not smell smell them again she did and agreed they did not smell. I exchanged the shirts and left with a few more shirts. I came back to exchange a few of the most recent shirts and the same woman came over to do the exchange, she walked away and came back and guess what the clothes smell and she can't exchange because of the smell. I was like cut the crap you pulled this on me last week. A diffrent manager came over and stated the clothes smelled and I said not only did they not smell but they had tried the same crap on me last week when she said my clothes smelled like smoke. The manager said they were not saying these clothes smelled liked smoke but they just smelled in general. I told her what I thought of that and she said well in order to keep the customers happy she would exchange for half of what should have been the exchange amount if the clothes didn't smell. Total scam, So I left and am going to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office and send them a legal demand demanding they exchange my nonsmelling shirts. They should have just exchanged my clothes. read more

I used to love Savers but the prices are ridiculous lol. I would rather get new clothes for a few dollars more. Don't get me wrong some thrift finds can be pricey but they will literally say the most ratchet gross shirt is $7-10. I'm not even joking . You can't find stuff there that's cute for under $5 anymore like you used to be able to. Also some items will have the original price on the back and savers is literally charging more when they were donated the item. Just pure greed and no incentive to actually help people want to shop sustainably. Hope they change their ways back to what they used to be ! read more

No stars at all for the said manager whom was there tonight January 25 2025. He has the nastiest disposition and an disgusting attitude. He wasn't friendly at all when I asked what do I do I explained to him this was my first time here and I didn't know how the check out process went. He snapped at when telling me what to do. Later after I proceed to cash out the machine freezes my anxiety has the best of me no so I'm just ready to go I don't want anything anymore I'm to frustrated so i ask if I can just have my money back. The manager becomes more nasty I ask if he's the manager and tell him he's being very rude with an nasty attitude he reply yes yes yes. I'm just utterly disappointed i was so excited to be there. The store itself is amazing and the other female workers I interacted were wonderful. His coworkers were trying to calm him down but he was out of control I feel he was totally racist towards me. I'm so sad that I thought I would have a great experience going to a thrift store to spend money I work hard for . Never ever I hope anyone has this experience here. read more

I've lost 120 pounds in 18 months and they expect people to shop there without being able to try on clothing. If it doesn't fit you, then you lose any money you spent on your items. no thanks, I'll shop at goodwill or salvation army where they have fitting rooms available. Oh and they only have self checkout with 5 ladies "working" and no changing rooms to clean because of "covid" which is a ridiculous excuse because they don't require masks inside the store by employees or customers. They are just lazy and don't want to clean them. I sent their corporate a message and unsurprisingly they never responded. Hopefully people boycott this place. I used to love Savers and would frequently go with my daughter. It was always like being on a treasure hunt. She'd find name brand clothing and I'd find books and Funky household items. I noticed after Covid that the prices had dramatically increased. I had hoped this would eventually reverse but it hasn't. Some of the prices are ridiculously high... smaller items worth a buck are priced sometimes as much as $5. And clothing? Don't get me going. I just don't bother any longer as the prices are so high. Today I went in and immediately noticed a change.... The shelves were jammed with so much stuff you couldn't even see anything. (Things used to be displayed so they could be seen.). Frames were piled on top of each other, glasses crammed on shelves, etc. and the store was filthy. I expect thrift stores to be a bit untidy and not so clean but the store was actually gross. When I walked down a clothing aisle huge globs of dust and dirt floated underneath the racks. Ugh. I don't know if the changes have to do with getting rid of the staff (it's all self checkout now) or a general attitude of Just not caring but sadly I won't be back. read more

Never had a good experience in this place. Employees are extremely rude. I get with this essentially being a thrift store, the attitude is that us unwashed masses should be so lucky as to be in the store but customer service should be the same anywhere you have a legitimate business. There is a small, maybe 5' tall, black woman who always wears a headdress who is always extremely rude. She always seems to be in the way putting things back and will snarl at you. One time I was looking at books and she ABOUT crammed the cart up my rear and then yelled EXCUSE ME at me as she walked by. As a 90% disabled war vet who served 21 years for this country, i've never felt welcomed in this place. This woman I speak of isn't the only rude employee but she definitely seems to be the rudest for sure. Always giving me dirty looks when I'm in there and I only come up this way a couple times a year. Prices at Savers are higher than Kohls and Old Navy. You are better off shopping sales at these stores than shopping at Savers.

Most of the staff on the inside, they are very kind people and helpful. However a lot of items are priced very expensive recently because now they look online to see prices. Everyone puts different prices on items. The problem is online has a such a vary of prices. This is supposed to be a donation center, not a consignment/retail store which it's looking like it's turning into. Rented a van and took a load of toys and clothes in packages to Savers. The guy who met up was rude beyond belief at first just saying "we don't take that stuff here!" This was a van full of totally salable merchandise. He then got his manager who was a woman with a nicer disposition. I get that people bring junk and drop it off but the idea that this old geezer is the first person you meet - not exactly a great ambassador for Savers read more

My wife was asked to leave the store without an explanation. The manager would not come down from her office to discuss it and told the front cashiers not to discuss it either. They said they did not have to say since they were a privately held company. I reminded them that even privately held companies must abide by state and federal laws around discrimination. A few hours later, the manager called my wife and apologized because they make a "huge mistake". Horrible customer service and this could have been avoided if the manager would have just told my wife what she allegedly had done. Manager is horrible and a fish rots from the head. I have been going to both the Savers in Hanover and the one in Plymouth. It used to a fun day, especially when I shared it with my sister and sister-in-law. Neither of them go anymore. They now make you wrap your own items, they charge for a bag and you have to ring in your own items, yet the prices still continue to go up each week. Their tabletop is scratched, shipped or worn and clearly visible AND YET THEY STILL PUT IT OUT!! Their prices have gotten so high, it is no longer fun. I feel as if I am getting slapped in the face by the weekly increase in prices. Years ago, I bought a solid desk in great condition for $4.99 and it was 1/2 off if you picked it up the same day!! Now there is very little and what is there is ridiculously priced!! The price of a cup WAS .99 cents but now, even if they are chipped, their lowest ones are $1.99. I have filled out many of their "We'd love to hear from you" surveys dozens of times but nothing changes. I have spoken to several managers numerous times. In one case, I asked if I could get a percentage taken off a glass salad plate because one of the set had a chip it in, which I showed the manager, and she said it was "priced that way"! I even spoke to a guy from corporate about all this and again, crickets!! I also left a message with the person who deals with the public, but I think you guess what resulted in that! As stated by another person, their clothes and shoes is nearly or as high as retail stores and their stuff is NEW!! I went to the Plymouth store once and there were FIVE employees just standing up front chatting with each other instead of providing service for shoppers who now have to do everything themselves AND BE OVERCHARGED for what used to be nice bargains!! What used to be fun now feels like we are all being taken advantage of with regard to items DONATED!! As I walk up and down the aisles, I hear the same thing from people I pass by who remark about how expensive everything is. My advice for thrifters is go to local church thrift stores who can make better use of making a bit at prices that make it fun to shop there, like you found a treasure! There are many (and growing number) of thrift stores that give you the fun of finding something great at a good price. And when I have the chance, I mention it to everyone, even those at Savers which I hardly ever go to anymore. read more

I used to be an employee at this Savers. I had to leave in preparation for college. Being one to have experienced the store for several hours at a time, I am very familiar with the conditions and the clientele that shop here. Many reviews have stated that the items are overpriced. The area where the store is located has a little bit to do with the prices. The South Shore is made up of several wealthy towns, so at Hanover Savers, we tend to get more name brand items then some other locations would. I would suggest going to the Norwood location if you are looking for extremely low prices, please don't take your frustrations out on the sales associates by yelling that "the prices are ridiculous". Along with that, if the item is from a moderately expensive brand like JCrew or Loft, it will be more expensive than a lower quality brand like Mudd or Forever21. If it's more expensive in the "real world" of retail, the prices will increase in a secondhand store. If you are unhappy with the price, don't purchase the item. That's it. Find the exact item on Ebay, or a similar item at Salvation Army (there's one Hanover) or Goodwill. Mark down the brand name for future reference. Management will not likely reduce the price if you merely think "it's too much." We mark down an item if it has damage to it, such as a tear or stain. We are a thrift store, not a flea market. We will not haggle with you to reach "a more desirable price". The price that is on the tag is the official price. Well, sometimes. It's also possible that an unlawful person switched the tags on the item with something else. It's very common. Sometimes, when someone thinks an item costs too much, they'll rip the tag off and approach a staff member. They'll say that the item had no tag, and will ask the employee for a price on the item, hoping to get a lower price from the original one. That, or they replace the tag manually and put the more expensive tag on something that might not make a whole lot of sense. (Like a $70 tag on a Charlotte Russe dress) A friendly reminder: when you make donations, do so at the pair of green doors at the appropriately labeled side of the building. Ring the doorbell for assistance, and have patience if someone doesn't open the door right away. Do NOT go to the fire escape or leave your donatiosn there. Have realistic expectations when coming to a thrift store. Naturally, it will be messy, you should expect that. We assist every possible person imaginable, and a lot of them don't have respect for cleaning up after themselves. If you drop something, pick it up. Put your shopping cart away, you should know where you got it. Have some courtesy towards others and towards the staff, especially in the dressing rooms. We have red clothing racks for you to hang your returns up onto. Do NOT leave a pile of clothes that you just put on your body within the dressing room. Other shoppers will get angry at us employees, and it's not fair that we get yelled at for your messy behavior. Act like an adult, and please clean up after yourself. If you have any questions during your shopping experience at the Hanover Savers, speak to one of the cashiers and they can help you, or they can summon a supervisor to give you assistance. read more

It's not like others that I've visited. I've been to about 14 now throughout the country. This one runs the gamut from simple clean stuff to crazy designer labels. Because of their location, it appears that you get higher level donations in affluent communities. Most of the employees are super friendly, helpful and good meaning. There are a few full timers that can be really difficult and outwardly unhappy to be working there. Overall, pretty clean and decent pricing. One of the employees is a "picker" however. Not only does she like to price labeled designer items way too high, she also likes to insure that no one gets their hands on stuff, like "customers". I'm not saying she's a re-seller, but I've personally witnessed several questionable transactions. Hey, it's gonna happen, right? Love the manager, she's nice, helpful and super sweet!! read more

Always a fun time, even if I don't find something to buy. The furniture and knick knack section are my favorites. Everything is organized and it's a nice, big space. Easy to donate here and get a coupon or two. It's all about luck here. I got a great cashmere sweater for $15, which I thought was expensive for Savers until I realized these usually go for a lot more. I get tons of compliments on this sweater as well. I try to visit at least once a month to purge stuff from the house and browse around looking for treasure. read more

the lady at the front counter harassed my friends and i. there were three of us minding our business and checking out our things. with all of the many people around, the older lady working at the front stood behind me and my friends, looking over our shoulders, counting our items, made me show her my receipt when i was done. there were multiple people checking out, but she singled us out, made us feel extremely uncomfortable as if we were doing something wrong and we will never be returning to that savers. read more

I love Savers! You can find great outfits for inexpensive prices. Records, furniture, and shoes are also sold here in addition to an array of home goods. I love to go here to buy strange and unique clothing pieces. You can find a lot of awesome vintage things here! I bought a ball gown recently that reminds me of Mad Men and a very unique Loft pantsuit. I come here too much but at least my wardrobe rocks! read more

I have been a frequent shopper here since the store opened. This is a nice thrift store with helpful employees. The selection is usually good, mainly clothing and furniture, but also some nice accessories. Store is large and spacious. Only reason I cannot give is a higher rating is from a very noticeable price increase, mainly in clothing. Seemed to happen last spring/summer, when items I normally saw for $7-$10 now were tagged at $15 and higher. Mainly on brand names, but a several year old used Under Armour T-shirt that sells brand new for $25 is not worth $15 simply because it has the Under Armour label. Same goes for jeans, a pair of Lucky's with holes and marks on them are not worth $24.95. read more

And not to mention the racks are over over flowing with merchandise. Slash those prices and move that USED clothing back into people hands. The changing rooms complete chaos with no formed line and a limit of 6 items at a time, then they want you to go back in line(what line?) to try on the next 6 items. Compared to Plymouth the prices can be crazy overpriced here. I have seen them ask almost retail for used clothing or $50 for a collector Barbie in a beat up box which goes for $10 online. The location is smaller than others in Massachusetts and mostly is clothing. Also it can be difficult to get out of the parking lot onto Rt. 53. read more

I collect cookbooks and I have shopped at several stores in the Savers chain but most of my visits are at either at the Plymouth and Hanover stores. They're thrift shops not high-end Boston retailers. I understand that. Some are better than others. Savers Hanover has a staffing issue...there isn't enough staff and there has been a lot of turnover...specifically, it seems, with overworked, under-appreciated supervisors getting fed up and leaving. It's too bad. There is definitely a morale issue. If this past Wed. was any example, it's easy to see why. My guess is that it comes right from the top. Between 12:30 and 1:00 there was ONE checkout line open. One line with 15 people waiting and one very overworked cashier, "Danise," who somehow managed to remain calm and pleasant to customers. A woman in line told the rest of us she was going to get the manager (a man named Mark) to request that the poor girl some help. (We too wondered if perhaps everyone else was at lunch and why HE wasn't coming up to operate a register.) The woman returned reporting that he was not answering the door of his office. He obviously was not on the floor either. If he was, he should be ashamed of himself for not coming to this cashier's aid and for creating dissatisfaction with his 15 waiting customers. Prices on the items are all over the map. Some things are marked with a Christmas Tree price tag of 99¢ but are priced with a Savers tag of $1.99. Huh??? There ARE good buys to be had, but as with any thrift store, it is hit or miss and some things are outrageously priced just because they have a well-known (like GAP or LL Bean) label. Books are overpriced...hardcovers that would be 50¢ to $1 at a yard sale are $1.99-$2.99, mostly $2.99. With all of them donated and a glut on print books nowadays, one would think they would price them right and keep the books moving out the door, but nope. To end on a positive note, one huge asset the Hanover Savers does have going for it is its book department staffer, "Walter." Personable, knowledgeable, a gem. Customers love him. Hmmmm. Maybe HE should be this store's manager! He sure is a lot friendlier. read more

Savers is one of those places where sometimes you can hit it and get tons of good items and another day you find nothing. It's always an adventure, my daughters are still happy to shop here and find so much more for our $ than going to a mall store. I look for name brands and have gotten some great deals on very lightly worn higher quality brands. We love donating here (recycling clothing) as well as upcycling "new" clothes into our wardrobes. read more

I went in to purchase a rocking horse , I took it up to the cashier since it didn't have a price and she priced it at $5.99 same price as the other horse . I politely asked her if she could hold it for me while I shopped around and she did . When I finally went to pay a different cashier rang me up and asked if I knew the price . When I gave her the price of $5.99 she called over her manager and told her they're wasn't a price if she could price it . (Pointless ) the manager said it was $10.99 . I told her that one of her cashiers had already priced it at $5.99 . She acted as if I was lying and told me that there wasnt anything wrong with it, so it wouldn't be $5.99 . Really? I told her I no longer wanted it. When I left her fat ass decided to talk trash . Very unprofessional, I will never shop at this location .
