This place is such a rip off, poor quality garments with rips and stains, whomever is inspecting these clothes cares more about label pricing than actually looking at the donations they receive by the carload. They resell poor quality used brands for more money than they cost on clearance! Add to that you can't try anything on, rude staff, no bags to take your things (only self checkout with a bunch of staff standing around "supervising"), and carriages you can't even take out of the building to bring your unbagged stuff to the car?? ridiculous, go to goodwill in quincy for reasonable prices and a whole lot more. read more

It's hit or miss and often overpriced, but I've found some nice pieces, especially in the bedding and comforter sections. I go early on Tuesdays when everything is 30% off for seniors (it's mobbed and picked over if you go in the afternoon on Tuesdays), which brings prices more in line with what items are really worth. I've also had luck with special clothing needed for a funeral, for example, things I'll wear only once and can donate or consign elsewhere when I'm done with them. It's also nice to bring the grandkids for a shopping spree, I tell them they can buy anything they want up to $X, they love the toy and knick-knack departments. read more

This place is labor work at it's finest , plus they treat employees horribly. They will fire someone for a customer's kind gesture of purchasing an item as a gift for them. I hate that I ever worked there. I was very sick at the time and dealing with mental health issues. They did not treat me fairly. and then unjustly fired me just to get rid of me. I waited eagerly all year for my Birthday, Jan 2. I went to the Plymouth store and told them at the register I have a Birthday discount. They asked if I had a digital notice, or a printed one from the computer. I said no. I have my License and when I put my phone # in it will show for I am a club member. The girl at the register said it has to be digital coupon ( I have a Flip phone no internet on it) or a print out notice ( I do not have a printer). I told her never before did I have to show that . I am 71 today. I shop at the Plymouth store all the time. It is a my favorite shop. But then I get treated like this. I am sick of the elderly being cheated because we can not afford nor use those stupid phones . I was horrified and left without buying anything. It also ruined my birthday for me!! I am writing about the donation portion of this store. You pull up to the front and wait for your turn. You put your items in the bins while a friendly, masked employee guides you to the proper bin and provides you with a receipt for tax purposes and a coupon. Very well organized and quick. read more

Plymouth Savers robbed me $30.94. I paid for my items and because their machine wouldn't print a receipt I was told that I couldn't take what I was charged for and had paid for. They then tried to double charge me, causing my account to overdraft. As I was explaining to the manager that I had already paid and showed him the charge to my account. He denied it was a valid charge, tried to say it was a hold. I was sent home, told they couldn't hold my items, charged $30.94 and had to call their corporate offices to finally speak to someone to get my money returned. This took over a week to resolve and was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I highly suggest shopping elsewhere. If you do happen to go here don't use your credit/debit. This place will steal from you. They will lie to you. They will then ridicule you in front of other customers. Do Not Shop Here! read more

The store itself isn't as nice as the Hanover store, and I wish they organized their books alphabetically by author instead of loosely by genre, but what really gets me is they need to train their employees not to yell at the customers. As I was trying to leave the store with a heavy bag I started pushing my cart and had a woman start repeatedly yelling, "Hello! You can't take the cart!" I checked the door.. no sign. Instead of yelling at me, the employee probably should have walked over and politely told me while maybe asking if I needed assistance with the bag filled with books,etc.. Love this savers I go all the time. Few cons though: For a thrift shop, some of the items are ridiculously priced. TOO HIGH. Why does a T-shirt cost 10$? Because it says American eagle? A used T-shirt??? The middle aged woman who works there with the short brown hair, is super rude. Going in there if she's working makes me uncomfortable. A lot of the items they put out are disgusting and should be trashed not sold in my opinion. Besides those few things, I always find items I DO enjoy and for a good price. read more

Love love love Savers! I love my Salvation Army stores too but this is bigger, better and cleaner. Big selection. Nice colored glass, cool converse sneakers, a pretty wool scarf and some quality furniture, knick knacks, housewares, bedding (I got a nice down quilt that was from Ikea for just 15 bux), VHS/DVDs/Records, craft supplies, toys, games, clothing, electronics, old cell phones...etc.etc.etc. YMMV. Better location than Hanover. The items do have a good turn over and the prices are reasonable. One key thing to remember about Savers is that it is a company not a charity. The partner charities only see a very small percentage of their profits. One thing about this location is avoid it on any of their 50% off days, it is swarmed! The staff is friendly and helpful. Savers is the BEST! I get all my kids clothes here. (Mine and my husbands as well) They grow out of their clothes too quick to buy new stuff. Sometimes stuff has tags on it still. You may think you're getting a bargain... this is only true on rare occasion. Most selections you can find elsewhere for the same price, if not cheaper. Let me explain how this company works, for I am a former backroom associate. Through our partners, we would receive a truck loaded with donations. That truck is then unloaded and packed onto a large tall Cart which is weighed, and that's how our "Quota" was measured for the day/week. Depending on the time of year, we would go through 8k-11k pounds of donations. From the Cart, donations are separated from Furniture, Hard Goods, and Soft Goods. Hard goods included electronics, toys, books, etc. Soft goods primarily consisted of clothes, more commonly Women's clothes, but also shoes, scarfs, socks, etc. From there, specific categories are sent down and checked out by a line of staff members, who make a split second judgment on whether to send it down the line, or throw it away. The problem with this process, is how poorly we treated perfectly good items, that became poor items due to the lack of care. Millions in value, could have been lost to rushed quotas. This store had unrealistic policies for disposing of brand new items, however there has been new management since, and may have changed things. I would watch as mint-condition work uniforms were "recycled" along with wedding dresses that had a single wrinkle, overcoats with one missing button, hoodies with a missing hood-string, regardless of the quality of the fabric, we ended up tossing out over 90% of our donations. I reveal this for any potential donators, who think that their former possessions will be put to good use. It's unknown even by managers what Savers does to "recycled" donations. The rumor is that they are sent to "countries in need" via cargo plane, but like I said, we're talking about over 10k pounds a DAY from a single store, the legitimacy of these rumors has yet to be proven. I was written up for arguing with employees over throwing away perfectly good coats and sweatshirts during winter, for having missing a single button or zipper latch. My argument was that there were homeless people in our town that could use such items, the response was punishment on my end. My complaint as an employee, was the ridiculous labor that each employee had to sit through, for minimum wage. Backroom employees (Production team) was completely separated from the front of the store (Operations) and we all take breaks at the same time, however, they would severely penalize you for being so much as 2 minutes late coming back from break. Regardless of never coming into contact with customers, even before the store opens, the use of cell phones is strictly prohibited, even if you are using hands-free devices allowing you to work while talking. And 'speaking' of talking... Talking was also strictly prohibited from this establishment, a simple verbal warning was given if you spoke a single casual sentence to an associate. The use of headphones was not allowed, regardless of the isolated circumstances. My biggest complaint was the wrist injury that was caused from the repetitive labor required for 9 hours a day. I developed a very severe case of Tendonitis, as diagnosed by my doctor. Contacting him was nearly impossible, due to the schedule, and strict policy against cell phone usage. I also broke my toe due to an unrelated accident outside of work, but management did their best to ignore this sudden impairment, and had me doing things that other employees were more than capable of doing, and even had THEM leave work early because there was nothing for them to do. Make the cripple do all the walking, thanks Savers. Often times I would take off my shoe and sock, and show them the bruising that all of the work was causing me, and they would still refuse to allow me to leave work early, or find something else to do that involved being immobile. Why does this matter to the customer? You are not getting the wide selection you think you are getting here. The prices are calculated by a minimum wage associate, most likely one newly hired, that's required to maintain a fast pace and make quick judgments. They do this by quickly scanning the item, determining its "Quality" on a scale of 1 being terrible, 5 being high quality, and 0 being brand new. The numbered quality of the item, combined with whatever category it fell under, automatically generated a fixed price for that item, and a tag would be produced. Before tags were put on the items, they would be finalized for a thorough check by a manager specifically hired for that role, and... she discarded about 60% of what was sent to her. This opens up way too much room for disputable prices, and often leads to poor customer service. This specific store location has terrible selections, a store SO dirty that you will actually see fabric/dust on your glasses after you leave, none of the clothes are clean, and the prices are not as amazing as they seem. read more

In disbelief of the utter incompetence of the staff, especially the manager. Rude and unprofessional way of going about business, if you can even call it that. Two times now I bought furniture one day which they sold to someone else after I had already paid. I bought a desk here on a Saturday and paid in full, said I was going to come back the next day to pick it up. So I did, I got the truck and I came back on that Sunday, and to my disbelief, they had sold what I had bought! The "manager", who mind you had zero qualities of a professional, told me they had a "24 hour policy", where if you don't pick you what you buy within 24 hours they can sell it to someone else. Never heard of that, and when I asked him to show me that policy he rudely told me to "have a good day". I kept trying to talk to him so he could explain to me how this was possibly, but he kept turning away from me and walking away. So I angrily left, thinking that it was absurd. I then decided to test that if that made up rule applied to me it should apply to others. I came back then next day after 24 hours and the table was still there. I then found same guy and told him that I wanted to buy it and he tried to make up another excuse by saying that it had to be over 24 hours. I was treated with downright disrespect and ridicule, and I'm honestly surprised that store is still standing with the complete lack of customer service. It has been a while since I seen something so unprofessional like this. Looking into suing them for selling something that was technically mine at that point. It's the second time something like this happens in this store, and I won't let it come cheap this time. Their headquarters will hear about it too. Bottom line: AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS. They do not run a clean business and the customers are clearly the least of their priorities. read more

I really enjoy coming to Savers in Plymouth. It is a big consignment store, although you would almost not even know it because the place is clean and bright and all the items are in good condition and nicely set up. Sometimes I end up going more than I should. Primarily I come for the video section. Where else can you really buy VHS tapes anymore?? Their selection is huge. You can find almost any movie you want, all at $1.99, which isn't bad. They do have some DVDs as well. The book section is the same. They also have a lot of knick knacks and odds and ends for around the house. It's a good place to go to replace a plate or cup, find a new painting or pick up some extra pieces for your Christmas village display. They also have TVs, DVD players, printers, etc. and some nice furniture. You may also find some brand new items in their original packaging, like I did with a iPod carrier that attaches to your arm for only $4.99! Savers is really a nice store to spend a couple of hours. You can almost always find what you're looking for and generally at a good price. read more

I have been going to Savers since they opened a few years ago. When they first opened the prices were outstanding, but now the prices are way to high for used goods. I also have stopped donating to them because when I go back to the store and see some of the things I donated out on the floor they are asking more money than I paid new for them! I have started donating to Catholic Charities in Plymouth were I know people like me that don't have a lot of extra money can get a good deal. When I was in the store recently a woman walked up to a employee and started ranting to her about what they were asking for a old wooden table.
