I'm excited Inglot has arrived in Toronto. I'm not sure if it's recent or not, but I never noticed…read morethe store until this week. Inglot is a little like MAC, in that the system is mostly modular. The company's term is "freedom system", but they basically sell singles (eyeshadows, face powders, blushes, concealers, etc) and their own brand palettes to put the singles in. All the pans and palettes are magnetic. The system is nice because each person basically can customise exactly what they'd like. You know those makeup palettes that you bought for that one colour, on which you have hit pan and love dearly, and the rest of the palette has barely been touched? Yeah, I know we've all been guilty. That problem doesn't exist at Inglot. Their products are also pretty high quality (I believe some professional makeup artists use Inglot). They also have tools such as makeup spatulas, flat metal palettes, sponges and other applicators, train cases and storage... in short, everything I need to pretend I'm a professional and I know what I'm doing. My one problem here is the condition of the testers. Obviously I know it isn't realistic to expect them to be pristine, since all sorts of customers will be sticking their hands in them, but some were downright gross. The cream products especially--these sticky kind of products naturally trap dust and hairs, and some also had large chunks missing. The sales associate was also a bit hovering, which always makes me uncomfortable, but some may prefer having someone there to answer questions. I guess it's a matter of personal taste, and I can definitely overlook it for the great products in the store.

I am a big fan of the product Inglot. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. However…read morethis store has been nothing but disappointment. I have recommended this product to friends and they go to this location and come back asking why I like inglot! The customer service is the worst. Twice my friend and I have had a defective product and twice we treated like assholes with no help at all from anyone. Today I ran to the store in -10 temps arriving at 12:30 pm only to find the store closed. There Store hours stated it would be open at noon and it wasn't. So again I can't get the product I need or want. I'm ready to give up on this brand as MAC never treats their customers like this. I will try online shopping just to avoid the the staff in this awful store. I have shopped inglot in Europe And Quebec and it's a greet brand and a great company. It's too bad the downtown Toronto location can't be the same.

They are doing curbside pickup due to COVID-19 so I ordered online. The ordering process went very…read moresmoothly and was ready the next day. It was all packaged very nicely and all the soap bars where marked with the smells so I didn't get them mixed up. Glad I can support a local shop especially during the holidays.

I first learned of Demo Soaps from the One of a Kind craft show 2010. They were again there this…read moreyear, but I didn't buy enough of their bars while at the show. I have many friends who are both vegetarian and vegan; I learned that pretty much all of their soaps were vegan. :) Prices are reasonable for these heavy and large bar soaps. All products are Canadian, and locally produced. Perhaps among my favourites would be Spearmint? or Peppermint (made with real essential oils), as well as their Chocolate Mint. Mmm... how else can you spread dessert over yourself and not worry about making a mess? ;) I contacted them in December. I was in definite and desperate need for some more Xmas gifts. I explained my personal reason as to why I wasn't able to make it a second time to the craft show again (which would have been basically to pick up more of their soap). The owner accommodated me, which I hugely appreciated. I didn't know what I could have substituted for Demo's soaps, so I'm glad that things worked out. I received the scented goodies in time for an early family Christmas gift exchange. It really meant a lot to me that this owner went the extra mile for me. When a business owner already has a superb/marketable item, priced reasonably, and then offers exemplary customer service to boot, I think those qualities merit true positive gain in the business' profile and a realistic increase in customers, and customers' loyalty. (Thanks again, Thomas!)

This beauty supply store was recommended to me by a certified MUA & friend. She told me it's…read moretotally worth checking it out & that they also give out free samples w/ purchase. Debbie is located inside the Galleria Supermarket plaza, where there are some other shops as well. I have been here on at least 2 occasions now. First was for a bb cream (approx $40) & second for false lashes (forgot price) & glue ($ 5.99). Each time, sales associate Esther helped w/ recommendations. Very nice lady & gave me a lot of samples to try. I was not familiar w/ the lash glues at all. Honestly I used to use it once and that's the end of it's life. But the glue they have in stock at Debbie's was absolutely amazing! First off, it was in black (thought it only came in white?!), so if you're a newbie applying lashes, it will be perfect since it hides any mess you make. It stayed in tact for hours & is a good quality glue. Smooth & not clumpy...like a new bottle of white out (if anyone uses those anymore). The price was excellent as well, much lower than any local pharmacy, MAC, etc. The lashes purchased have been reused on at least six occasions. They also felt very comfortable on. Make sure to clean it thoroughly & take care of it after you have removed it. Love it! Lots of other beauty products (skin cream, makeup, tools, etc.) Definitely worth checking out!
