Really can't say enough good things about this place. We came in mid-afternoon after hitting the beach and Brandon was there by himself holding down the fort. Cooking and working the register all by himself but he really was doing fine. Wife and I got the garlic shrimp and were blown away. So delicious and enormous value for what you get. My son got the Imu (pulled pork) sandwich and downed the whole thing despite the massive serving. Daughter got the Menehune Mini with Teriyaki beef and loved it as well. I've tried the shoyu chicken, huli huli chicken, salad, and cheesecake and all were so delicious. The macaroni salad is top tier, and it's free to sub scoops of rice for it or vice versa. It's homestyle in a good way and although I feel like I could make some of the dishes myself, I'd still go back and would like to try their chicken katsu or shrimp dishes as well. What we ate: * Teri Beef Sandwich (teri beef sandwich) * Chicken Katsu * Ono Teriyaki Beef * Don't remember the 4th dish one of the kids got First and foremost, let me say my wife chose this place and she and the kids loved it. I am very plain so the teri beef sandwich sounded great to me (teriyaki beef "piled high" on a king's hawaiian roll). For me, this place was a miss from a portion standpoint. Our bill totaled $76 with the tip and I left feeling unsatisfied. I quoted "piled high" on the Teri Beef sandwich directly from their menu. Their idea of piled high is 2 strips of teriyaki beef on a bun, which isn't worth $13.50. The flavor of the beef was great, just definitely not enough the money. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. We were the only ones there so we were able to sit indoors and enjoy our meal. It's located in a strip mall so there is a decent amount of parking. read more

Our experience here was a real bummer. It started out with them informing us that they didn't have complimentary waters available, so we overpaid for bottled water. The food was not great. The only food we enjoyed were the ribs and the shrimp plate was decent. The rice was stale and kind of crunchy and over cooked or it had been sitting in a rice cooker way too long and dried out. The kahlua pork was over salted and also dried out. The loco moco was cooked ok, other than they didn't ask how we wanted the egg and my husband dislikes anything but scrambled eggs. The issue we had with the loco moco was the gravy was a tasteless, gloopy, unpleasant experience. This meal was super expensive for what it was (around $80 for 4 of us) Hawaiian food is one of my favorites, but unfortunately this is not a place I would return if I was in the area and craving it. read more

I had the Huli Huli Chicken and it was delicious. This is a hole-in-the-wall kinda place with a limited menu but totally worth the visit.

Seen this place on TikTok, was in the area and decided to give it a try. So happy we did because WOW, the food, service and ambiance were amazing. The young man who was working was very attentive and made sure everything came out well. The Huli Huli Chicken plate was enough for two people. The chicken was so moist and delicious. The macaroni salad was also so tasty and refreshing. The Killa Kilauea Fries were amazing as well. The basket was clean after my husband ate them! I definitely recommend Aloha To go! I was craving a poke bowl so I thought I'd try this place out. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. The poke bowl was plain. I was really hoping that I could pick what went in the bowl such as veggies and different kinds of meats but they only had tuna and spicy tuna. It came with only rice. I guess I should have looked at the menu/pictures. Anyway it was ok. There were a few tables inside and outside. Service was pretty fast. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one other table occupied so not busy at all. I will say that as I was walking out another customer was letting the server know there was something sharp in his chicken and it definitely kept him from finishing his meal. I had the big kahuna $15 (over priced) with double macaroni and up charge for fried rice $17. The macaroni was ok lacked flavor. The fried rice was too mushy and also average. The meats were slightly overly salty, not sure which was the culprit as It came with chicken, teriyaki beef, and pork. The food doesn't keep well for warming up later so definitely plan to finish it. This places has a few different yelp locations, originally tried to go to the food truck location by Indian Rock but couldn't find it, so we ended up driving to the actual restaurant location. I shared the chicken katsu, kalbi, and kahuna plate. Out of the three, my favorite was the kahuna plate. The kahuna plate has the ultimate trio (chicken, beef, and pork). The meats were all really tasty and it came with so much meat! All the plates come with scoops of sticky rice and macaroni salad. I was literally driving by and spotted Aloha To Go, turned around, pulled into their parking lot, and went into order. First, how often do you see Hawaiian food offered in this area and second, who in the world would want to miss out on some Aloha! We need more Aloha on this world. I got the Big Kahuna because I felt it was necessary to try many different selections and this seemed to be the ultimate combo platter for this restaurant. This was outstanding! The pork was great but the stand out for me was the Huli Huli chicken. I was expecting to not like it because it would be overly sweet and have some sort of goopy glaze on it but nope. It just had a hint of sweet from a marinade possibly. No goopy sauce or glaze. So tender and delicious! The cole slaw was absolutely divine as well with small pieces of pineapple mixed in! This is big and I ate 2 regular meals and a small meal just from this one platter. Even though I got my dinner to go, I went inside to pick up and they have a nice size dining room. The employees were wearing mask and everyone was very nice and immediately gave me some Aloha as I walked in and out of the joint! It was nice, so I did take some of that Aloha to go. If you are in the area, give this place a try. I hope to stop back by when I'm in the area as well. Disclaimer: I grew up on the plate lunch in Hawaii. I had to come out this way to pick up my daughter from a party, so my son and I decided to get my hometown food for dinner. I was excited for the menu because the items were typical Hawaii diner/café style food. I think anyone expecting Lau Lau or any luau style foods are people who were once tourists who didn't explore what people who actually live in Hawaii eat...Aloha to Go has a very typical menu...Hawaii is a mix of many cultures and the food reflects that. Made up local dishes like Huli Huli chicken and loco moco, Korean kalbi, Filipino foods and of course traditional Hawaiian food. That being said I enjoyed my food. Some of it brought me back. I'm not a mayo lover but I did eat the macaroni salad for nostalgic reasons and enjoyed it because it's like I remember...not dripping in mayo like you get on the mainland. I also liked the kalbi a lot. In Hawaii it's made a bit sweeter than you get at Korean restaurants. It was close to my Mom's recipe. My son had a Hawaiian burger and he liked it, but I must say I'm not a big fry eater, but I couldn't stop eating his fries! They're very addictive. I liked the Huli Huli chicken that they served...but that's not Huli Huli chicken. I'm sure these girls may have tried to make a version of Huli Huli that they had in Hawaii. However the original Huli Huli that you once could only get on the side of the road on the non-touristy side of the island (wainae, north shore...) has been tainted over the years. Not their fault. Degradation by the New generation. The staff is so friendly. Definitely felt the Aloha spirit. I only wish this was closer to Tampa. I get extremely homesick and Aloha to Go is a nice reminder of what a simple plate lunch from my childhood used to be. read more
