Specifically THIS butcher shop! They know what they're doing here at Milford's Village Butcher, and whatever you want, you get! Pick your bread, add your meat, select a cheese, throw on some toppings... and you've got a 5-star custom sammie that's literally the best in town. N O. J O K E. Once you've had a sandwich here, you'll never step foot in a Subway ever again. That's a promise. We like to add a bag of Great Lakes potato chips to our pile of goodies, specifically the Parmesan Ranch flavor (soooo good!) They carry a wide range of local and Michigan-made products, including Great Harvest Bread Company's delicacies and Grand Traverse Pie Company's pies. DO NOT leave without a bottle of Dearborn honey mustard, Srodek's pierogies, Pop Daddy pretzels & popcorn, and some freshly-made sausages and brats. Any meats you're looking for, they've got it. Unique sauces, dressings, and spice mixes... they've also got you covered. The store is small, but everything they sell is top choice. If they don't have it, you don't need it! Staff is friendly and accommodating, and will offer suggestions if you're unsure of what you want to eat, make, or try! I can't say enough good things about this butcher shop! Please stop here if you're in or around the Milford area-- you won't be sorry! Grab a custom sandwich, some groceries, and head over to the park to enjoy your lunch (or dinner) at a picnic table surrounded by nature :)

By and large I find Marv's pastries and breads to be mediocre, but the one major exception is their…read moregingerbread cookies which are absolutely phenomenal. Their pastries are reasonably priced and they always have deals of the day although the discounts are negligible - eg something normally $4.89 might be on sale for $4.29 or so. I haven't found the service to be particularly friendly either which seems unusual for a longstanding mom-and-pop with loyal customers who have been coming for decades (I'm the third Marv's generation in my family). I do think it's sweet how they offer free coffee with any bakery purchase. It's by no means gourmet but it's a nice touch. They also sell some miscellany like cheeses, pickled goods, meats, etc. About half the physical space is all baked goods and the second half is the rest. I can't imagine anyone doing significant shopping here but if you needed an item conveniently you can get it here.

Love the nostalgic pictures and memorabilia decorating the area.

Decided to park & go in to just see what they had. They were in a major remodeling process and once I walked in, I stopped in my tracks. OMG!! How neat!! The place carries anything & everything a person could or would need to make their own jerky, sausage, etc. You want seasoning? It's here!! You want speciality pots. pans, knives? It's here!! Now, they even carry fresh meats that are fantastic & they are poly packed. Vacuum sealed air tight! NEAT!!! And yes, they carry all kinds of jerky such as elk, venison, buffalo, chicken, turkey and naturally beef. Want it hard or soft? Got it! Want it spicy or just plain? They got it!! They also carry fish and different sea foods such as frog legs (yummy). You may have to take a leisurely drive here but it is well worth the trip. You won't be disappointed. One more thing. When you walk in - look up & around to see all the displays of animals mounted on their walls. They even have a few stuffed armadillos around.

They vacuumed packed the meat. Expertly trimmed the steaks and left no connective tissue that I saw. There was no hair on the meat. It was a delight to be able to use the meat right out of the package! Many places, when it gets busy just get so sloppy on the meat you get back. I had become so disgusted with the amount of work I had to do to re-trim the same meat that we already had paid to have done, that for a few years I made my hubby do his own processing. He gave this place a try and I was very doubtful. When he came home he was so excited to have a proper job done. Because of the clear vacuumed sealed packages of meat I could see the difference. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for deer processing.
