However, I've had the doctor cancel multiple appointments on me. While life does happen, when you're dealing with medication that can cause adverse side effects it's really frustrating to then not be able to get in touch with the doctor for days at a time to either reschedule or refill. He will only see weight loss patients on certain days as well. This last time, I called on Wednesday ( over a week after the office cancelled my appointment) and Ella told me she would not message the doctor about my medication but would message his scheduling assistant to reschedule. She seemed incredibly annoyed that I couldn't rearrange my entire work day with 3 hours notice to drive to the office to wait at least 20 minutes to see the doctor...so then she would get back to me. I call Thursday, and she said she left a message with the scheduling assistant and she will NOW get a message to the doctor's medical assistant about my medication...something she couldn't have done the day before apparently? Friday comes and she calls again to say she's putting a message in, which is what she said the day before. Now it's Monday, and I haven't even been called back after calling twice and leaving a message. I've run out of my medication, and so will start to experience negative side effects. The doctor knows all this, but apparently it's more important to gate-keep who gets their messages to the doctor and who gets their medications refilled and who doesn't. I'm shocked any receptionist is allowed such power. Especially when combined with the cost of visits and medication, since no insurance is accepted, I would highly recommend not using Marina Village Medicine for your weight loss journey. This is the fourth time Ella has prevented/tried to prevent me from getting a message to the doctor, which is an absolutely insane business model for a paying patient. The actual women at the office are lovely and very helpful, but it is near impossible to reach them during business hours the majority of the time.

I called last week to get an appt. was told Dr Lowe was out till mid-July. So i asked to get an appt with Dr Chin as she is notes as my primary care physician on the card. I was told I cannot make an appt with her as she is not my doctor and is not taking new patients. First i find it unethical that the medical profession would put that doctors name on my card - if I am never going to be able to see her. I was told someone would call me back that day to let me know what can be done. No-one from this facility called me back. However, when I went online and made an appt, they were able to call me back within 10-mins to tell me i can't make that appt. I filed a grievance with Medical regarding this Dr and facility. I finally got a call on the Thursday of that week from someone in the office, i called back friday morning and was told someone would call me back - no-one did (there's a surprise). Finally on the following Monday i speak to someone who refers me to the Rhode Island location that does not have residents and you can see a real doctor (that actually works - unlike those at 3801 Sacramento). Why they could not have done this the previous Monday is beyond me -i've had to be in pain for an additional week due to their sheer incompetence and unhelpful ness of this office. Avoid this Dr and location at all costs. Head to the Rhode Island location -where the staff are 100 times nice and the Doctors too!

Between my husband and myself, we have had a myriad set of very complicated health issues, and have worked with 20+ doctors throughout the Bay Area. In all that time, Dr. Carie is easily the most attentive, thoughtful and caring doctor I've had the pleasure to meet and rely upon. She never makes quick or unthoughtful recommendations, and seems to count upon me as partner in maintaining my health, not a lofty doctor on high supplying wisdom for me to accept without question. Granted the office support isn't always on top form, but they do in fact care, listen and try to improve when you bring issues to their attention. Also, I was surprised by one of the comments about the lack of notes. Each and every time I work with her (in person or online) I see careful, detailed records. In fact, before she lets me leave the office, she prints out the notes from that appointment and confirms I'm clear about next steps and makes sure all my questions are answered. Myself, I'm thankful to have her warm and supportive care, and know I can count on her for any issues big or small that require medical assistance. Just wish all doctors cared about the people they treat as much as Dr. Carie cares about her own patients. She's a true gem in an increasingly impersonal medical world.

I can not imagine having a more personable experience with such a kind hearted, knowledgeable and patient physician! Dr. Hudson was able to diagnose and prevent some serious issues with me over the years of which I am in her debt of gratitude! Dr. Hudson is always consistent to discuss good healthy eating habits and exercise on most visits. She always inquired on how things were going personally in my life and would offer useful advice. My office visits never felt rushed and I actually felt like she spent more time with me, if she felt it necessary. I think Dr. Hudson really cares about people and wants only the best for her patients. Please indulge me and allow me to expand on just a few of my experiences with Dr. Hudson over the last 25 plus years of her being MY doctor! For example, the year my mother passed away in 2001, she was extremely kind and very patient with me by allowing me to express my grief, without rushing me, in my appointments, during that difficult year. I am sure some of my appointment times went over the allotted time frame, but she always seemed to know what was important and needed. Dr. Hudson was a VERY busy woman, in her Walnut Creek office at that time, with a full waiting room of patients, yet she made the time to help me cope with my loss. Another example is when I lost my medical insurance for a period of time, Dr. Hudson was so gracious and worked with me and gave me discounted visits to enable me to continue seeing her and still receive excellent services. Also, she did NOT skimp on those visits, either, as she still provided the same high quality level of care! During that time, I would request basic short office visits, to help minimize my cost, but I feel she did extra services because she knew it was important, at no additional charge. She always tried to give me advice on places to get labs and tests at a lower cost, when possible, too. I can't thank her enough for her kindness and generosity as she really helped me financially. It was a bit disheartening to read some of the negative comments regarding Dr. Hudson, as that has absolutely NOT been my experience with her at all! She is a good, decent human being and an expert in her field and I think she only wants the best for her patients! Dr. Hudson is also a Fellow of the American College Of Physicians, which Fellows are considered a distinguished group of doctors dedicated to teaching, research as well as medical practice! She is always well versed on current medical matters and procedures and I feel that I am in VERY capable hands and have full confidence in her abilities to keep me healthy as she has done all these years! Dr. Hudson is great for being able to make same-day appointments during regular M-F business hours…read more If you don't typically require care after normal business hours, don't travel frequently and don't need a specialist, you might be happy with Dr. Hudson. Unfortunately, I've had two occasions when I've needed to see a doctor and I didn't time my sickness during a M-F business hour. Dr. Hudson has no after-hours call service, so if you need attention after hours, you will be directed to an urgent care center or the emergency room if it's after-hours for urgent care (which is even more upsetting that a patient's only option is to head to the emergency room - since emergency rooms are already overfilled and the staff has much more important things to attend to than someone who just requires an antibiotic!). Dr. Hudson also won't call in a prescription for anything without seeing you in person first. So, if you have a recurring medical issue which she's previously seen you in the past and all you need is an antibiotic called in for you - she won't do it. I might otherwise be fine with this policy, however, on the most recent occasion I was traveling and unable to get to her office until later in the week. The receptionist indicated no exceptions can be made to this policy. Once again: my only choice was to head to a local urgent care office or emergency room. My other frustration with Dr. Hudson as my primary (which she is no longer - because I need a primary doctor that I can actually reach after hours and who will be able to prescribe an antibiotic for a recurring medical issue when I am traveling) is that she comes across as knowing most everything. She purports to be a sports doctor (in addition to everything else), so on a recent visit I had her take a look at a lump on the back of my leg. She diagnosed it as some sort of cyst or other "common" mass that she could take care of in her office. Luckily, I already had an appointment scheduled with a knee specialist - and it turned out I had a tumor on the nerve that required surgery (with the assistance from a spinal doctor due to the location on the nerve!). I've had relationships with many doctors in my 1/2 century - and other than Dr. Hudson, I have always been able to reach my primary doctor after hours and have never had an issue with obtaining an antibiotic for a recurring medical issue. Although I haven't found another primary doctor yet - I will happily visit my local urgent care before giving any more of my business to Dr. Hudson!

He is happy to consult with my specialists, and recommends both medications and lifestyle changes I can make for a range of issues. He's also really great at responding to emails, and makes sure to circle back to check on how I am doing for a particular issue we talked about last. Before Dr Fakhouri, I didn't have a regular primary care doctor as most issues were handled by specialists. But I am so glad this has changed! He certainly makes my life easier, and is a trusted resource. My only complaint is not about him, but the office, I think. Once I asked the office to give me a couple of appointments with him as I had a lot to cover. It turned out I had all of 15 minutes. I'm not sure if this is a problem with this office or with insurance, but I felt a little rushed. That aside, Dr. B. is one of my all time favorite docs.

He listened to what I had to tell him and I was amazed because some doctor's wouldn't even listen if it's about workers comp. He listened and diagnosed the injury right away. He was very kind and he also taught me a few good tricks to loosen up my muscles so I can prevent future injuries on the job. So far it really helped and I am thankful that I have picked him to be my QME doctor.

Karin D's review in 2020 was what I based my selection of Liana Vesga, MD on and Doctor Vesga did not disappoint but rather went far beyond what was written in the prior reviews. Doctor Vesga was amazing. She was beaming positivity, assurance, compassion, concerned you are feeling at ease and assured all will be well. I was scheduled to see a male doctor, but I wanted a female doctor. Doctor Vesga gave me that maternal covering I was looking for. (No one takes care of you like a Mother) The Oakland Building is a Beautiful Location! ** So here is my experience ** * The Lemon Lime Drink wasn't bad. There must have been some changes with the pre-drink because most comments said it was horrible. I found that playing a game of " How Fast Can You Drink It" got the drink down. I chased it with Sparkling Mineral Water. The bubbly helped. ** Stay close to the bathroom and tell your family members to use the bathroom and get out quickly please. It really processes quickly through your system in a hour. No Joke!! * I have fasted before and took on that mind set when it came to no eating. I did drink chicken broth. I did chew on a piece of steak and savored the flavor and spit out the meat. It worked for me.. Jedi Mind Trick ** After getting into my gown, I began to breath deeply to relax myself. The nurse who monitored my vital was rubbing my arm to calm me because of my pressure number (176). I told her it was the moment for the elevated number. It worked.. my last look at it was 146. All the staff was very pleasant. Very focused on what is to be done. Not a lot of talking. That was impressive to me. * Doctor Vesga walked in the room saying ... "There she is" " We are doing a Colonoscope and a Endoscopy" "I am going to have you bite on this bite guard put this around you ears" ..... and the next thing I was hearing my name and I was awake and feeling great. Not dizzy, Not sick, Not sleepy. Very much alert and speaking clearly. ** I asked if I could go to the bathroom and while walking I side stepped a little bit but the nurse had me be the arm. * I got dressed and wanted to use the bathroom once more for the ride home. I waited in the lobby for my daughter to pick me up and that was it. The End Very please to have had a great experience to share for this year of May 2022 The next morning, I had a little sore throat. So I gurgled with baking soda and ate soup for a few days. I did have some mild stomach irritation. I felt nothing when sitting down and resumed back to business as usual by Tuesday. My procedure was during the Fourth of July Holiday. Dr. L. Vesga is a gem!

I went to Dr. Vesga for a second opinion after another GI Specialist said "not much we can do…read more.. you're own maximum therapies" (ie. Tylenol & Omeprozol), yet in severe pain still. Dr. Vesga spent over an hour reviewing my symptoms, my charts/labs, and exploring options. She gave me multiple options but advised gathering more test results to be cautious. She called me directly to report normal lab results at 6pm a few weeks later. She created a plan of action in case pain comes back. She was very attentive and recalled even minor details from our first discussion. I felt heard, respected, and taken care of. Fantastic doctor.
