Times are hard and people are short on cash Mike understands that and is willing to work to get you the best job and pricing available. His crew is very professional, quick, and reliable. They know their work and stand behind it, it's reassuring that if something doesn't look or feel right they will let you know and give advice. I had them come out and repair my dry rotting front porch that had been badly put together the first time years ago. Even though thats not their specialty they came out built it according to how I wanted and was done in a day. I will absolutely call them again for wood work of any kind. If I could give zero stars I would. I called him to get a quote and I assumed he was very busy due to the hurricane. I did leave a voicemail and say I would try emailing him because sometimes I know that is easier to respond to than a phone call. My husband and I did build this fence and I advised him that we did. I sent him an email asking for an estimate and attached some pictures so he could see what he was working with, I knew he would still have to come out to do an estimate. He responded back "All estimates are $50.00 at this point. I have done over 160 after this storm and just started charging but long ago getting raped. I have over 40 more estimates to do. That means I am extremely busy. $50.00 is the estimate fee." That's a direct quote he wrote "getting raped". That is disgusting to me. After that email I said thank you for letting me know, but I will not need your services. He wrote back "Ok. I understand why you need a fence company. Look at what happened to what you installed. It was done completely incorrectly from the start. I can see that from the pictures. " I was in complete shock from the unprofessional comments he had. For being a retired Marine I was expecting a lot more respect and sensitivity considering a hurricane has just happen. I do like to support small companies in the area when possible, but I refused to give any money to someone with that disgusting of a personality. read more

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job installing the fence at our new home! We went with the 3/4" cedar boards based on his recommendation, and I can't be happier (especially after comparing it to the 1/2" boards on our neighbor's fence done by another company). Mike was a pleasure to work with. My schedule is difficult to work around, and everything was performed while no one was home. He worked directly with our HOA to get approval for the fence work, making the entire evolution an absolute breeze. Pricing was more than competitive, all the more so when you see the quality product in the end. Other than maybe a handful of orphaned wood screws in the yard (totally expected and understandable) there was no evidence that the crew had been there, other than the awesome fence. I had them come out and fix my gate and leaning fence awhile back. Beautiful very well built gate. Repairs were done pretty quickly too. No shady business dealings either like large deposits up front, actually he never required anything upfront. The job was done in a day and I paid him that day. No stress, I loved it. Then the hurricane came. Florence. I needed everything BUT the gate he had replaced! I'm so glad I knew exactly who to call for the job. Considering the insane amount of work he had lined up it took a bit of time to get to me but I knew the quality work was worth waiting for. My fence is not just beautiful it's stronger than before. Don't even call this place. I wish I hadn't. So one morning, I called and left a message. Got a call later in the afternoon and started talking to the guy, telling him what I wanted, etc. conversation was going good. Then he started rambling about stuff I didn't even care or need to know about. Like, I just want a fence built. I already had my measurements. Just tell me what it's going to cost and when you can come. But no, he kept rambling. Repeating himself. But I'm patient, and courteous, so I let him talk. Then I guess I made one heck of a mistake by answering a couple questions with "yup, uh-huh" instead of "yes." ... He proceeded to lecture me for like 5 straight minutes about how he's a retired Gunny and I should talk properly to him. Who does he think he is? My husband is a SSgt, soon to be Gunny(fingers crossed)...so what? I would have hung up but it was just so entertaining, I was laughing to myself about how crazy this man is. I didn't disrespect him at all while he was on his rant. He then said he doesn't want to come out and build my fence because he has no trust in me. Because I said "uh-huh" instead of "yes." The last thing I let him say was "if you can have a proper conversation with me then you can call me back and we can talk business." My answer to him was "No, that's ok, I'll just pay someone else thousands of dollars to build my fence. Bye." *click* Rated 2 stars for the entertainment. These guys are amazing. I just moved into the area and needed a fence pronto to keep my dog in the yard. Mike came by to take measurements and provide me with an estimate the same day. The estimate was super reasonable and his team was able to get the work done in one day as well. It was a small, wood picket fence... they worked through the night to get it done! This company works using large equipment after 9:00 pm. I was kept awake until after 11:30 pm while they worked behind my house. When I called to ask the company if they planned to continue this tonight, the owner stated that his business license doesn't state that he can't work at any time he pleases. If you hire this company, beware of work completed in the pitch black of night and angry neighbors. read more

Stellar, from start to finish. Installed a 4 rail and post fence. Price was equal to others in town, however the other guys use thinner lumber and nail all connections. Sawmill recommended a 5/4 deckboard (which had rounded edges...very nice look) and uses screws for all connections. Great service, great product, great price. Thanks Sawmill. read more
