My husband and I hosted a post wedding after party for our daughter and her new husband at Sawyer Park this past Saturday. My communication with the event coordinators, Haley and Emily while planning the event was amazing. Haley helped me put together a great meal plan proposal and Emily assisted in executing the plan. We decided to serve the appetizers package: wings, sausage, sliders, and fried pickles. We were hosting about 75 people so I decided to add french fries and coleslaw to the order. Everything came out in a timely manner, and it was hot and delicious. The fried pickles were a big hit! My husband kept raving over the wings, he said they were perfectly flavored. In retrospect, I would probably double up on the wings and leave out the sausage. Our servers, Shelby and Ashley were very attentive and made sure everyone was properly libated at all times. Both servers maintain a happy and joyful attitude while serving our guests. At one point a manager came over to make sure everything was going OK and to check in, I really appreciated that. Everyone loved the venue, Many of the guests had not been there before, and said they would definitely return! It was game day, which made it more fun!! Waited 15 minutes for the bartenders to wait on her friends who walked up long after I was there. No , hey, wait a secc or"be right there " when it was so obvious she gave an empty sorry. I just wanted a long neck and a menu. I was given the buzzer box and told to come get the food. 40 minutes later , still no one even walked by the table that stopped to ask if I wanted anything. I finally went to the bar since my beer was empty for 15 mins. Another I can't see you act went down. Then the Mgr walked from the kitchen, and I shared an elusive food story. Turns out my food was sitting behind the bar for Lord knows how long. And my blinking light box never went off. The Mgr asked around but finally had my meal made again. Surprisingly, it was good . The Mgr started to say I didn't see the box activate until I reminded him the need to be turned off once active. He tried to make it right. In these newer food drink spots if you're older they don't see you.. I was in the service industry for yrs so now I tend to tip a stupid amount... so the girl screwed herself out of a big tip. My issue and problem is my husband asked our female, Caucasian American waitress if they took cash, and her response was yes. Then her next statement was "If you try to run off then I am going to tackle you because people try to leave without payment." Yes, I do understand that people do that. Been coming here for about a year and I can say the service has gone waaay down from what it used to be. If you're sitting inside you'll get great service, but if you're sitting outside you'll likely not even meet your server for 20-30 minutes...and when she does come take your drink order it'll take another 30 min to get your hot beer. Good luck getting any food. They used to be pretty great about taking orders and delivering in a timely manner, but the last 5 times I've come, we've ordered food and either: Been forgotten completely, Had our order given to another table, Received someone else's food, or had to wait over an hour for food and drinks that never arrived, so we left. It seems to not matter what day or time that we come, the outside service simply sucks. What's worse is, going inside to order drinks so we actually get them, and seeing a crowd of servers standing around chatting and joking with each other while tables outside are being completely neglected. Sitting here, I just saw the table next to us get fed up from the neglect and leave. I had to get up and ask for our server twice just to get any service, and it's a Sunday evening, there's only about 15% of the tables sat. Ended up here as it was close to a softball tournament down the road and seemed like a great place to grab food and beer afterwards. We liked it so much on day one we came back the next day. I will start with the venue is awesome! Indoor and outdoor (covered and open) seating. Lots of TVs to watch your favorite team(s) and it looks like they have a stage for live music. Service was fantastic both days...at least they tried to be, but have been a bit understaffed. The menu has a good selection of beer/drinks, appetizers and food...many of which looked very good. I heard the 3-meat plate was decent. Now, for my other observations and recommendations. While the menu is promising and the appetizers are good (especially the pretzels), much (not all) of the food is lackluster. Specifically, the bacon burger lacked flavor, the jalapeño ranch on the Hippie Chicken tacos was underwhelming (hard to taste ranch or jalapeño...the chicken was juicy and flavorful). The pork belly was chewier than it should be. Having said the above, the most disappointing was the beer was nowhere near cold. With "icehouse" in the name, you would naturally assume COLD drinks...not in this case. At least not the case this weekend. I would go back again but there are places they could improve. read more

We visited for the first time on a low-key Sunday afternoon. The vibe was chill. The patio was breezey. The service was excellent. I had the Sawyer's Summer drink. It was refreshing and just the right amount of alcohol. I'm paleo plus (gluten free, dairy free), and I had a hard time with their menu. I had the pork belly and fries (they were out of sweet potato fries). I'd love to see some grilled dairy free options. (Even the sausage had cheese in it.). I'd also like to see some healthy sides like steamed or roasted/grilled veggies. Some fish offerings like boiled shrimp, shrimp cocktail, etc would be an awesome menu addition. Otherwise, this is a great place to hang. Pool tables, music venue, dog & kid friendly (before 9 pm). read more

We had been wanting to try this place, but had not because of the drive. We finally had the opportunity. We showed up at 5:47pm on a Friday to be greeted by the doorman who said in a slightly annoyed tone, "why are you here?". Confused we said, " to eat and drink". He said, "we aren't open until 6pm". We can see a bunch of people inside (and per their hours they are open). We inquire and he tells us it is a private party. And he just stares at us. Held my husband's 40th surprise party here. Event was great, waitress & even the manager. The bouncer Chris clearly has an ego problem & relishes in the little power he has in daily life. So be warned they won't monitor how much is being served to you then the moment the party time is over- "tough guy" Chris will come barging over to throw you out bc the guest of honor was over-served.. BY THEM on his birthday & should have been cut off sooner. We don't normally go out, but he was not causing a disturbance, wasn't sick, bothering anyone nor was he asking for more alcohol. He was trying to compose himself/get it together, but wobbly yes & so visibly intoxicated. Not arguing that we were asked to leave, we were going to anyway, I was just about to order an Uber. However, I was so taken aback how rude/aggressive the bouncer was that I lost my cool as well. Which I shouldn't have. It was just so unnecessary & I was in shock especially after our total was $1909 to treat us like rowdy random drunks when it wasn't like that at all!! It should have been handled so differently & all would've been fine had we been approached calmly the way the manager did AFTER we had been thrown out. GM had come out & apologized for the "tough guy" Chris handling of the situation (as we waited for our ride in parking lot). The bouncer literally ruined it all & was so gleeful about it which still infuriates me after we spent so much there. I have many friends/family that go here regularly & have since been told Sawyer Park can get like that with non regulars. Wish they would've mentioned that sooner though as I never would have held it there had I known this. This all said, if you are a regular I guess have at it! If not- beware if drinking is involved. They will be super nice, over-serve & then Chris will come barging over on his power trip to throw you out.. after they get their money of course! On 3/15/25, I visited the bar and sat at the bar. I place an order for food 30 minutes had passed, I asked the bartender the status of my order. He replied, " the kitchen is backed so it gonna be a little longer." There was a gentleman (white guy) that sat next to me he placed an order for food as well 15 minutes passed the gentleman asked about the status of his food the bartender went to the back to check the status of his, but didn't go to the back to check the status of my food. I only got an excuse as to why I haven't received food. I asked the bartender about the status of my food again, he immediately got an attitude with me. I expressed to the bartender what I observed with him going to the kitchen to check the status of the white guy order, but didn't bother going to the kitchen to check the status of my order. I asked for the manager, I explained to the manager what I observed from the bartender. The manager made excuses for the bartender behavior. The white gentleman received his order before I received my order, I placed my order before this gentleman even sat down. The excuse the manager gave was that what he order didn't take long to cook, I was there before and placed my order before the gentleman next to me. This was under handed discrimination at its finest from the bartender and the manager. If you are black don't patronize this establishment they will treat you like shit and make excuses for their behavior. As I expressed to the manager my money is as green as the next person, you all are not giving me anything I am paying for everything that ordered. read more
