The office staff were quick to greet me upon arrival, friendly, efficient and helpful (I hadn't registered them as my dentist choice with my insurance provider). The exam was quick and stress free and the dentist explained exactly what I needed for treatment. Cleaning was pain free and after polishing and a fluoride application I was out. So glad to have made this choice for my dentist!

But Dr. Shin strikes the perfect balance between holistic care and traditional dentistry. She focuses on healing and prevention rather than jumping straight to intervention. Everything is explained clearly, and I always feel like a partner in my own care. Honestly, if I had found her sooner, I might've avoided a root canal altogether. For my kids - Dr. Shin is incredibly gentle and patient, especially with my 7-year-old who has a hard time sitting still. I also want to share that now Dr. Patel rejecting to accept me as a patient despite the fact she should be available for the emergency appointments and completely defensive and maybe even a little aggressive about discussing what happened. I might be wrong, but I had an impression, that in her last mail when I asked for the emergency appointment, because I'm still suffering from her "treatment" she tried to be sarcastic and even make fun out of this situation, which I think is so unprofessional and unacceptable for the doctor. Nevertheless, Dr. Patel, you asked me to avoid contacting your office unless it's emergency and I comply. Unfortunately I said nothing about Yelp, other social media, California Dental Board and Civil Court ;) You'll hear from me more and more. Stay tuned. And btw, I'm surprised that: 1. I vowed not to go back to them, but when I had a dental emergency arise, I called them in pain and desperation. They were now rude to me, and told me they didn't want my business because they thought I was coming back just for the pain, not to be a regular patient. That might or might not have been true; my decision about whether to return long term was going to be based on how they treated me this time. I sure learned the answer to that question. I'm not happy about having to find a new dentist on short notice while in pain, but I guess I was going to have to find a new one anyway.
