I found this location off of a list that my dental insurance (partially) covers. I had an abscess on my wisdom tooth and was in excruciating pain so I called and made an appointment with Lisa, the sweetest receptionist I have ever spoke to on the phone. She was able to see me a day and a half after I called, which was amazing!
I showed up 1.5 days later, a bit nervous. The last time I've seen a dentist was when I got out of the Marine Corps in 2015... Now, I love going to the dentist, but going to see one after 3~ years was a bit nerve wracking.
The office is easy to find. Up the left handed stairs and directly straight back. I was greeted immediately by Lisa. She had me fill out some forms and once everything was taken care of, I went back.
The dental assistant, Jake, took all of my xrays. He is SO personable and sweet. He's also a Marine Corps Veteran so we had a topic to bond over. He was very gentle with the bite wing (I think that's what they're called) and made the process go smoothly.
Once the xrays were done, he and Dr. Satar did an exam on my teeth. After the exam, Jake cleaned my teeth. Once that was over, Dr. Satar came in and discussed my treatment plan.
I am a teeth clencher. I know this already and didn't have to have confirmation ( although having professional confirmation was nice). With that being said, I had chipped a few very old fillings that I've had since I was a child. Fixing those fillings and fixing a very old silver crown I had was apart of the dental plan. I also had a couple cavities. Don't get me wrong, I brush my teeth at LEAST 2 times a day. Sometimes an obnoxious amount of times because it's lowkey therapeutic to me. HOWEVER, the cavities I had were because I don't floss. I can't remember the last time I *actually* flossed. So while I was disappointed in myself, I wasn't surprised.
Lisa broke down EVERYTHING regarding insurance. She answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. She gave me print outs and let me know that there are different options of payment. I truly appreciated that because a lot of places are very hush hush about the final cost. We all know dentist work costs a pretty (but absolutely worth it) penny. Being able to know exactly how much X costs and my different options truly meant a lot to me.
Now you see, the difference of Dr. Satar and other dentists I've seen through the years is this: Dr. Satar went through my xrays with me. He showed me where the cavities were and explained how they got there. I asked him a bunch of questions (not to undermine his knowledge but more to pick his brain and understand how teeth/cavities work on a basic level). He answered each and every question with extreme tactfulness and eloquence.
As of now, I've gotten all of my work done by Dr. Satar and Jake (I'm going to pick up my night guards very soon) but I am sad that I won't be spending more time at this office. I've been there every week for the last month~ish. Each time I am able to shoot the sh*t with them, have friendly and normal conversations and have a *genuine* good time. I honestly wouldn't mind hanging with them all in the office but that would be weird looool.
Now back to my wisdom teeth that were the main issue from the get-go. Dr. Satar referred me to Dr. Haan, an oral surgeon, who is right down the hall from their office. I trust his referral 100%, however, if I was able to choose to get the procedure done at Dr. Satars, I would definitely choose his location. I am not nervous showing up to his office at all because I know him, Jake, and Lisa will take care of me. :)
If you're considering this team to do your dental work, I 1000000% recommend them. I will be telling my family and friends about them...Ok lets be real, I already have; BUT, I will continue to recommend them to everyone I cross paths with.
