But I've always known TWM has way better selection. Walking in, honestly, the sheer variety kind of overwhelmed me at first. That said, the aisles were laid out really well, so once I got my bearings it was easy to browse around by type. That's about when Justin, the floor/wine manager, came over and asked if I needed a hand. He ended up walking me through a bunch of different spirits, taking the time to actually explain things rather than just pointing at bottles. What I appreciated most was that he wasn't pushy at all - no upselling, just genuinely helpful recommendations. That's honestly what got me to trust his suggestions, and I walked out with more than I planned on buying. Zero regrets, though.

To-go beer cans can be drank here for a corkage fee of $2.50. We came Thursday around 4:30pm and it wasn't busy. Only 2 other men were there but later came more men. She was clearly not in a good mood. The line behind me grew to about 5 people during her complaining. She then finally decided to help who was next in line. She (with quite a bit of attitude) waived the next person in live over who was me and I had my ID and CC ready. She didnt ask for either of them - she only said "number please" - so i replied with my phone number. She then said that didnt work whats another number. I asked why she needed my number. And she just asked for one that worked. I assumed it was for some type of membership program so I let her know I wasnt interested - SHE THEN TOLD ME TO TAP MY CARD - no letting me know the price, to this point she had said a total of 12 words to me. So I tapped my card and then the full price popped up on the screen and it was 88$ At this point I contested the price and said this bottle isnt worth 88 dollars to me. She became disgruntled and slammed the cash register closed and said "Well then youre going to need a refund because I already charged you." At this point I was 100% done with her, this bevmo, and allllllllll the terrible service this store is paying her to provide. So i said whatever i dont want to spend another second with you, and took I took the bottle and left. For sure never coming back. Bevmo, Hire better.

It's a much closer drive for me than San Jose and is conveniently located right off the freeway. They have a fantastic selection - oils, bakery items, breads, linguica, and cheeses. I was on the hunt for some stinky cheese from mainland Portugal, but no luck on that one. The owners were super friendly and helped me find a few things, though they were unfortunately out of plain salad vinegar at the time. Overall, it's primarily a liquor store with a massive selection from around the world. But you can also find a variety of Portuguese food items and some very affordable Portuguese wines.
