Today, I had a pleasant experience at Mission Liquors. I walked in and saw good quality tequila. Sonya, if I am not mistaking her name, is the nice lady working behind the counter. Sonya was very polite and was happy to answer all my questions. By the way, the 2008 bottle of Corazon was fantastic !! Furthermore, Mission Liquors has a large selection of non-additive Tequila. The brands include El Tesoro, Tequila Ocho, Fortaleza (some of the best right there) Mijenta, and Pasote (NOM 1584). As of 04/30/23, THEY HAVE FORTALEZA 2023 WINTER BLEND. I hate liquor stores because I tend to get followed around since I still look/dress like a teenager, even though I'm in my 30s, haha. I was greeted right away and, unfortunately, the guy kinda followed me around and kept looking over his shoulder. He did stop though and I didn't feel uncomfortable anymore. I came in here looking for Mexican Coca-Cola in the glass bottle since the taqueria a few doors down didn't have any. They had ONE left, omg. Totally saved my dinner! I make my way up to the register and the guy greeted me again. He was very nice and even offered to open up my bottle for me (never had been asked this question at a liquor store, definitely a plus). I had declined since I was going to drink it at home. This place is very clean, not OVERLY cramped with crap, and doesn't have that weird liquor store smell to it. Even the front in clean (sometimes there's cigarette butts and garbage everywhere). Not only do they take care of the inside the outside is well maintained. One star...... for not greeting me when I came in. One star.... for not know their products. I told him before he rang it up. This drink is 2 for $4, and he told he it has to be the same flavor. I said ok I will get the same flavor, when I got there, he said come back I will give it to you for 2 for $4. So, he wasted my time going there just to tell me I can have it for 2 for $4. My rating is solely due to their price gouging principles they are using. So there has been a bourbon craze off late and a lot of good bottles fly of the shelf. It's not uncommon that retailers add a 10 to 20% mark up over retail price for the good bottles. I completely get that and I have no issues with that. Where as at Mission liquors, they have a 500% markup for Blantons bourbon (retail price is $60 and they have a bottle marked up well over $300) I was able to get the same bottle for $69.99 at a store which was 4 miles away from mission liquors. They had the Weller's special reserve which has a retail price of $25 for $89 LOL. I wouldn't pay a $1 over retail for that bottle but they had no shame in marking it up by 350%. Liquor shops like these are causing the problem for the bourbon shortages. When someone sees such ridiculously high pricing, they tend to hoard the bottles when they find it at retail price or at a reasonable pricing. They need to stop this now. I have a few ideas for them. 1. Mark it up by a reasonable amount 10 to 20% over retail 2. If you have only a few bottles of something good, conduct a raffle. Spend $x, you get x amount of tickets to be entered in the raffle to win those bottles at retail price. This way you can increase the $ spent in your store and not mark up the bottles so high! I sincerely hope Mission Liquors change their price gauging techniques they have in play. read more

Granted, I haven't (yet) been here in person--during Covid I've just been ordering from here through Drizly. But their selection and service has been fantastic! They have some harder-to-fine favorites (like Barr Hill gin, which is excellent) and have been prompt & responsive. It's obvious the current owners treat this not just as a liquor store, but as part of the community, and strive to make their customers and partners happy. I needed to send a payment via Western Union and Sonia guided me through the entire process, step-by-step. She was very kind, helpful and friendly. Five stars for a liquor store? I've known about this place for a while now, but BevMo is right down the street from me so they tend to get most of my hard-earned alcohol money. I recently found these guys on Facebook and was seriously impressed by all the new and interesting beers that they're constantly adding to their shelves. I've asked the owner a few questions on his Facebook page and he's always responded very quickly about what they have left or if they're getting a certain beer anytime soon. This place is just a short drive from Fremont BART, so I took a little detour when I got home from the city last night. Picked up two chilled bombers of excellent beer and the guy behind the counter was super cool too. If you live nearby and consider yourself a connoisseur of real beer, check these guys out! Where are these recent 5-star ratings coming from? The previous owner, Rail, deserved them. The new owners? A far cry from the old establishment. First off, the tap board is not even updated. I asked for a stout and out came golden liquid. That is definitely not Ten Fidy, my friend. Then, after a good amount of convincing that it is indeed not Ten Fidy, the owner grabs a new glass and tests a few other taps. That's nice, he's trying to figure out if his lines are mixed up or not. Oh well, I'll just have a different stout. I ask the man if I can have a taste of another beer... Normal practice at other bars. "what do you mean you want a taste?" he asks me. Ooook... Nevermore, I'll just take a full pour ($5). The owner has the balls to take the same glass with all the tester beers still mixed in it and pour me a glass of pumpkin porter. No thanks, sir. I finally just accept an unadulterated beer glass half full of foam and chug it just to get out of that sorry excuse for a tap room. Also, they have a $3 corkage fee. Way to derail business. The tap room isn't horrible... They just need to staff a bartender with some knowledge in beer and beer etiquette. I managed to get away with Firestone 17th anniversary for $25 out the door, which isn't horrible. So I got that going for me. Oh! They make you use your debit card cause they are too cheap to pay for the small fee that comes with using a credit card! read more

This place have great quality selection of sprits, wine and beer. There is also a in house bar which offer great beer tasting. Would highly recommend to check this out this local gem. My friends and families come here for specialty beer and we have never been disappointed. Furthermore the customer service here is phenomenal. It's stellar to see that the 6 reviews posted previous to mine say what desperately needs to be said about our fantastic Mission Liquors. Simply put, Rael cares about beer, he know how to run a shop, hire knowledgeable employees, and develop/maintain relationships with some of the best craft/micro breweries out there. The ONLY reason I ever venture to BevMo now is to pick up something average that ML doesn't have, or has run out of. Mission Liquors trumps BevMo in unique selection,and price to boot! They make it easy to support a local business. As another review noted, if you can't find it elsewhere because it's supposed to be "all gone", check Mission Liquors, you'll likely be pleasantly surprised. Mission Liquor sees the changing tied, and they're right on top of it. Thank goodness I don't have to always go to Oakland for my craft beer needs! It's so sad to write this review. The old owners were fantastic and had a genuine appreciation for the craft beers that were on the shelf. The new owners know nothing about craft beer, and really don't care to educate themselves. I used to love coming here. Not only was the staff really knowledgeable, but even the clientele knew a lot about different craft brews. My wife and I have gotten many a good recommendation from other enthusiasts who just knew a lot about beer. I've given the new owners a couple of chances. It pains me to say it, but I hope they tank and they just sell the place. They have no idea how great this place was. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, don't come here. Guess I caught the tail end of the old owners...new management are penny pinchers, quite literally. It's always empty now, and I'm not surprised after the changes. There's now a $3 fee to drink your beer...that your purchased there...if it wasn't on tap. There's paper signs everywhere with hiked up prices for the same products, and honestly I don't even think the new owners know/have tried the beers they have on tap. Never once have they walked over to the tap area with you--they just kinda let you stand there...looking at their inflated prices. They've also moved the porn stash up to the tap area for easy viewing (used to be next to the loo hahah). I went back this week to pick up something to go and the owner said my total was "$2.48", then as I was reaching for my wallet whispered "$2.50"..so he didn't have to give me $0.02. C'mon now, I'm not gonna argue over $0.02 but that's just weird and unprofessional. Not even night market vendors in Asia are that cheap... They've also closed down the restroom for customers. We rented a keg from them for our housewarming...when I called to inquire about it, they told me they delivered. When I went to put down the deposit, they said they couldn't deliver. Oh well, that's alright. I guess it wasn't too heavy...they helped put it in my fiance's car. We gave them a second chance. We were gonna order a whole bunch of liquor from them for our wedding. I went there to inquire on price. They told me they'll get me an estimate by next week. Ok...I called and they said they'll call me back. I waited for that call...weeks went by and I called back. I don't know why I bothered..I guess it was because they delivered. I left a message and they said Rael would call me back...um I believe he did...2 or 3 days later. By then, I already gave up and went to Costco. By the way, I got a waaayyyyy better deal there than what Rael gave me over the phone. Hell..Bevmo had a waaayyyyy better price for those remy martins. A seriously legit liquor store boasting a craft beer tasting bar in the back that includes awesome picks like Sierra Nevada's Hoptimum. The bottle selection here is one of the best I've seen and not far off at all from some favorites like Beer Revolution. Found myself down on Mission Blvd. today and thought I would pop in to Mission Liquors and check out the beer selection and see if there was anything that caught my eye. Well, it's a good thing I checked in via the Yelp App because there was a 5% discount offer if you bought three 22oz bombers. (Great promotion guys, I went in thinking I would only buy one or two bottles, but you got me to buy 3!) -- Pro tip: Always check-in with your Yelp App, you will never know if or when you'll see a special offer for checking in! At the back of Mission Liquors they have installed a small tap room and bar for tasting an ever rotating list of craft beers from all over. I'll have to come back again when I have time to do another sampling. The guy in store tonight (forgot to ask his name) is very beer knowledgeable and friendly and makes it a place you want to come back to often to restock your home beer supply and sample the rotating beers on tap. Although they have13 different micro brews on tap (changes all the time), I recently picked a bottle of coffee beer here and it was spectacular :) when you walk in you have to go all the way back to the far right or you will completely miss the bar area. otherwise you think its just a liquor store. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by after a friend told me about this special liquor store and beer bar. We were NOT disappointed. We were planning just to check it out and buy a couple of beers but, as it turned out. they were having a "Collaboration Brews" Tasting starting in 20 minutes, so we decided to stay. It was definitely worth the $5/ea. The theme of the tasting was beers from craft breweries that collaborated together to make unique and special beers. We tasted ten beers. The pours were more than what you get at a typical brewery sampler selection. What also set the pours apart is they are served in a Champaign glass which allows you to get the full aroma of the beer along with the taste. For me, 1st place Collage, then Reunion and Brett Draft. I walked in and I was actually greeted with "Welcome in!" With a great positive vibe by the guy the working the register. The beer selection is amazing! Some of my favorite breweries such as Moonraker, Russian River, and Alvarado Street are here. The guy was wearing a name tag, Raj helped me picked some beers, very knowledgeable about the beers. I also found some rare whiskies such as Nikka, Yamazaki, and the Erich Church Jack Daniels. The store was clean and had prices on all the bottles. The prices are ok considering it's a convenient/liquor store and they also have to make money, I don't mind the prices since the service I got was very pleasant and the knowledgeable staff, a Plus! They actually have a automatic hand sanitizer dispenser for customers, Wow, what the great way to let the customers know that you care! There's also a beer/wine bar, I am excited to check it out once it opens after COVID. Keep up the great Service! I will be back again! read more

Hands down the best craft beer store around. They even beat BevMo. I took a beer trip a couple of months ago around the north coast (Eel River Brewing, North Coast Brewing, Lost Coast, etc) and was so bummed when our supply ran out. Lo and behold this store carried these specialty brews and much more. I was like a kid in a candy store. I stocked up on my favorite beers and bought a whole bunch more for christmas gifts.
