I don't get to Total Wine and More nearly as often as I probably should .. most of my stuff usually comes from Costco during regular grocery runs. But I've always known TWM has way better selection. Walking in, honestly, the sheer variety kind of overwhelmed me at first. That said, the aisles were laid out really well, so once I got my bearings it was easy to browse around by type. That's about when Justin, the floor/wine manager, came over and asked if I needed a hand. He ended up walking me through a bunch of different spirits, taking the time to actually explain things rather than just pointing at bottles. What I appreciated most was that he wasn't pushy at all - no upselling, just genuinely helpful recommendations. I've been to this location a few times in the last few years. This time, the service was amazing. I was looking at some seltzers and a staff member came and asked if I needed anything. I was looking for Seagram singles of the Jamaican Me Happy. They unfortunately only had a case. In another aisle, I was looking in the tequila section when another staff member approached me. He gave me a quick lesson on the difference between blanco, reposado, cristalino reposado, and anejo. This location always has a wide selection ranging from the type of spirit to the price point. Everything you expect from a well managed store and what we've come to expect from total wines... JUSTIN! He was an absolute value add to my customer experience. Not only did he try and search for the mead we were looking for, he walked around the store with us making sure all resources were exhausted to find what we needed. Although we didn't leave with the Charm City Meade we were looking for, Justin's approach to customer service impressed on us that we forgot to be disappointed. Total Wine is my go to store for wine and spirits. Sometimes I search online trying to find a better price. Driving way out of the way to save a couple bucks and deal with rude people just isn't worth it. In the end I come back to Total Wine if they have what I am looking for. The staff are always courteous and professional. Unlike other stores every time I have a question somebody is walking around offering to help. The shelves are stocked well. This is the Total Wine location that I go to often and during my past two visits there has been a gentlemen names Shavar that has been oh so pleasant and helpful. During my most recent visit I had an issue with an on-line order and he was so patient walking me through gathering the necessary information to replace the order. Visited this location from out of town with my wife specifically to purchase a hard to find mixer she had been looking for. A rude old man there refused to sell to her because only she had her drivers license, and I didn't have mine with me. Mind you, she was the one making the purchase and I'm a 40 year old man. This updated review, with the severely reduced rating, is referring to only *ONE* issue - the Delivery process that they are advertising and pushing so assertively... I was very interested in this service, as driving to my local Total Wine shop (Fremont, CA) is really a headache; I was willing to pay them to just deliver for me... Sadly, they have managed to make this service essentially useless to me, with one stupid decision: about a third of all their ale offerings (and I am *only* an ale drinker) are *NOT* available for delivery, nor for in-store pickup, IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT THE PRODUCTS *ARE* AVAILABLE IN THE STORE!!!!!!!!! So I can drive over and buy them in Fremont, but I can't ask them to deliver to me in Fremont... nor can I purchase them for pickup... I've tried discussing this issue with the managers in the store, but they've all basically said "duh... I dunno...". So here's a message to TW&M, from a customer who has sporadically visited over all the years since this store opened: "You might as well stop sending me those emails and ads, because your service is unusable!! I had no idea there was something better than BevMo! TWM has more of a variety of all alcoholic beverages which are very reasonably priced! After discovering this amazing place, I made another discovery.. They offer WINE CLASSES! This is the main reason I'm so in love. I love it so much I wish they offered a bunch of classes for a cheaper price but $20 a class which is about 2 hours is also a really good deal. I joined the wine and cheese pairing glass that included 8 tastings and different cheeses to pair. The instructors were very knowledgable and hilarious! I learned a lot and had a blast. Lastly, they offer a discount to everyone in the class - I believe it's $10 off $50 purchases. I can't wait to join another! read more

I noticed the Total wine shop when my friend and I pulled into the Pacific commons shopping center. I thought maybe Costco doesn't have the selection I wanted, so we went here to check things out. First impressions was like it was a small but large enough grocery store that catered to wine, spirits, and other adult beverages. The decor inside of Totally Wine seemed like it was similar to Whole Foods, but for wines. It was interesting. My experience here at Totally Wine took at most 30 minutes, because everything seemed to be centralized and that I asked store employees where things were. In the end, I purchased 3 bottles of wine for the Christmas weekend 2021. One Pinot noir, one merlot, and one suvonyon blanc. Im not a wine connoisseur by any means, but I think they're the main groups of wines that I know of. I was surprised that the prices here was surprisingly not expensive. Even for California standards. Must be good to source wines in California that is readily available. For 3 bottles of wine, I spent only $20, which is pretty crazy to me. All in all, I found my purchase good and happy. Just happy that we found a wine store that was in the vicinity of my Costco stop and open on Christmas Eve. The overall experience here at the Total Wine store here in Fremont California was quite nice, awesome, and casual. While they had some expensive wines, they had wines that were made for budget friendly customers like me. In the age of Covid-19, face masks are required in California, which is cool, since it mirrors Hawaii in that respect, where I am from. The staff here was friendly and helpful, since I had to ask about 3 times before I found what I was looking for. The check out lady was nice too. Most Californians drive here, but if you're the one who uses public transportation, that's cool too. For the most part though, it was nice that Total Wine was in the shopping center where Costco was. I had thought about buying the wine there before I realized that Total Wine was nearby. I would say Total Wine & More is a great spot to find wine....and more. Ha! Well it's been quite a little time since my last review and the last time we went was back in December. L O C A T I O N Total Wine is located in Pacific Commons, in the block near Costco. It's in the same plaza as Gen, Panda Express, 85 degrees Bakery and Firehouse Subs among other restaurants and shops. Parking is shared with the other places, but we haven't had a problem finding a spot. There's also some electric car charging stations here too. C O V I D P R O T O C O L I haven't been to this spot when there's been someone outside to make sure there's only the right number of people inside. But the registers have plastic shields to protect the employees and customers. It's a large high ceiling building so lots of air flow. There usually isn't a lot of people here so it's easier to dodge people if needed. I T E M S We've always come here for our favorite sparkling red wines. Then if I can't find something in store for baking, I can come here and there's usually 1-4 different products in terms of liqueurs. I also appreciate that they have a selection of beer and ciders. There's a fridge section for ready to go cold drinks if you need it! S E R V I C E The service here is superb. When we needed help on a particular wine, they had great knowledge of what we needed and gave us recommendations. It's been really easy to also check out and they also do have a rewards program but we don't really drink that much so although we do have it, it's kind of lost on us! With my bottle getting low, it was time to get a new bottle of limoncello for a limoncello cake that I've been making. Went to Total Wines' online site and decided on Gabriello. They also had it in a gift pack with included three glasses that was $1 less than the bottle itself. With their Spirits Direct discount, it was a deal. Since it was a limited inventory item, the order was placed with pick-up at the Fremont store. The store is located at the Pacific Commons Shopping Center. Entering the store, I was greeted by an employee and I inquired where the online pick-up counter was located and she directed me to proceed straight ahead. Due to social distancing, the tasting counter has been converted for pick-ups. The employee asked for my name and pulled the order slip from his binder, checked my ID and went to the back to retrieve my order. My limoncello was brought out and I was on my way. My friend graduated college, and I thought, what better gift to send him off into the world than some good ol' liquor. I arrived at Total Wine on a busy Friday afternoon. The place was packed, but store associates are encouraging social distancing, wearing masks, offering sanitizer, and wiping down carts/baskets upon entry. I did not know what type of liquor to purchase, but the store is designed and labeled in an easy way. There is a huge variety of liquor categorized by type of liquor and place of origin, and there are even other party items available to complement your purchase (i.e. party snacks, chase, cups, gift ideas, etc) I walked out with a bottle of whiskey, whiskey glasses, and a bag to gift them in. I'm satisfied since I got all my shopping done in one store! The convenience of having everything needed for a party under one roof was the highlight of my week lol. The comparison you're going to have to make with this place is location, location, location: are you willing to take the car around the corner for a trip to this place in addition to costco or not. The best part about being so close to an actual retailer like costco is you could make only one trip for all your party needs, but if you're going for selection it's worth taking an extra trip here. The truth is, the parking lot for Costco is HUGE so you can easily make one parking stop here to get both of your errands in. I'd recommend parking on the left side of Costco (left if you were standing facing the entrance) so you could theoretically keep all your groceries with you until you drop them off at your car. Probably better to come to this place first before you go into Costco so you can actually have fresh groceries by the time you're home. If you're a procrastinator, a total gem of a pro-tip I've found is to bring a cooler in your car if you have one and start chilling your wine & champagne soon as you buy it. Most of the time you can buy it already chilled from this place but be warned the cheapest buys will be in bulk in the unrefrigerated section. The outside sign is in huge letters so you can't miss this place- finding it and a parking spot will be your easiest hurdle! I have been using the Total Wines and More app and I see I get frequent "deals" on their alcohol. I wanted to take advantage of the $2.00 off offer on Elijah Craig Bourbon. I picked one out at the store and at checkout I showed the cashier my discount on the app and she replies that a lot of those discounts don't apply for the Michigan stores. The offer details on the discount clearly states "Valid only in MI". I activated my discount prior to coming to the store. I also have that particular store set as the default store on my app. I never got my discount. So this company basically lured me to their store with fake advertising. Do yourself a favor and support your local liquor store instead of these scammers. I don't need a corporate scripted response from you yahoo's at Total Wines either. Thank You! read more

Dare I say Total Wine is better than BevMo?! I definitely think so.. and this particular location is awesome!! They have a wide selection of everything you need - liquor, wine, beer; you name it, they've got it. One of my favorite things about this Total Wine location is that they carry my one of my all-time favorite beers - Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat. I first tried this beer on tap at the California state fair many years ago and have always been searching for it since. Most stores I've been to don't carry it.. and on the off chance they do, it's only there for a short period of time as a seasonal beer. So you can imagine I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this particular Total Wine and saw that they carried it year round!!! (Had to give them 5 stars just for that :P) The employees at this location are always helpful and the prices here are pretty competitive as well! If you sign up for the rewards program, you can accumulate points (but it takes quite awhile to accumulate enough points for a reward). Regardless, there's no downside in signing up and they email coupons out regularly. read more
