I normally prepare my own taxes but because this was the first year filing as a full time FL resident I was a little stumped but how to file with having my property up north, so to be on the safe side I decided to get my taxes prepared by a professional. I contacted John via Yelp message one week prior to the filing deadline. I told him my situation, filing status, dependents, number of W-2's, etc and asked for a quote. He responded to me almost immediately and stated I can call him to set up an appointment. Although his quote was higher than I had hoped, I do think that it was less than big retail giants. I've never had my taxes filed with them before, however my hubby did when he was single and I remember it being really pricey. John was very personable and a pleasure to with with. He asked how I found out about him and I said Yelp (of course). What I didn't tell John was I had actually contacted a different place prior, Tax For JAX, since it was one of the other tax place that had 5 stars review. I emailed and left a message for Stacy and did not get a response. I contacted John and the rest was history. John gave me the option to stay while he did my taxes or drop it off and pick up the next day. I went with the latter just because when I do my taxes, I like to be able to concentrate and triple check the information is correct without any distractions. He took the time to review my old taxes and pointed out a credit I missed and said he can do an amended return however the cost of doing that really wouldn't be worth it. My refund amount was very close to what I had gotten had I submitted it myself but the way I would have filed it was slightly different. John sent me an email from him once my return was accepted by the IRS and that I would receive my refund within 2 wks. I received my refund within a few days. Previously John worked for someone else for 5 years, but this is the first year working on his own. If I decide I need help with taxes next year, I wouldn't hesitate to go to John again.

I've called and emailed multiple times. He has refused to issue a refund and keeps saying he will get everything to me tomorrow. He's been saying this for months. I left a review on social media, warning others about his behavior. He then sent a text message on my personal cell phone threatening to destroy my company and make sure I can't make a living. This is scary because he requires new clients to sign a POA. I do not recommend Keith. He took payment and did not provide the agreed upon service or products. To make matters worse, he is repeatedly sending threats saying he will destroy my business because I am speaking out about what he has done. Update: In response to Keith's reply: Keith's reply below is not true. He did NOT upload the assessment in April. When I emailed to inquire about it, he told me it was in my portal. When I informed him that it wasn't there...he then messaged to say he would upload the documents later that day. (See screenshots) They were never uploaded. It wasn't until AFTER I fired him, requested a refund and sent a written request to dissolve the POA that he scrambled to put together the documents. In an effort to cover his tracks...he uploaded the assessment yesterday afternoon. I paid in February. He uploaded them on July 10th. I called twice yesterday and he did not return my calls. He had time to sending threatening texts though. Telling me that if I keep up my bad reviews...he make sure I can't make a living. Keith, the ONLY way to make this right is to issue a refund of $1,750. Actions speak louder than words. As of now, you have stolen from me and then went on to threaten my business.
