I ordered the chicken parm and was charged an additional $7 for a sauce substitution that was never mentioned when I placed my order. For example, if you order the gnocchi, you're given a choice of three sauces, one of which is the Rosa sauce. The portion of gnocchi is the same regardless of which sauce you choose, so I was surprised to see an additional charge for a sauce substitution without being told about it upfront. I was also charged $7 for a small cappuccino, which I found to be quite expensive. I appreciate transparency in my dining experiences, especially when I make a point to support small, local businesses. If there's an additional charge, customers should be told upfront. The pricing for dining here leans more expensive for what I would consider a mediocre dining experience. It's disappointing because we've always enjoyed Scarpinato's, but based on this experience, we will not be back.
