The escarole and split pea soups taste better than my own! (To validate, look in my pantry and find dozens of Meloni's soup containers.) Try the eggplant parmigiana and stuffed pork chops--melt in your mouth heaven! The deli potato salad always tastes fresh and again tastes better than my own. Love this place! Everything is always fresh. The people are furry friendly, but it does get crowded now and then so you have to be patient.

My sister got a ham pie from here as an appetizer for Easter dinner. O-M-G!!! It was SO good!!! It had a cheese flavor I could not pinpoint. There was not too much ham which I loved. The crust was flaky and buttery. The egg part was creamy. I asked my sister and she said it was seasonal. I'm not sure. All I know is I want to buy a few of these and bring them home !!! They would make an excellent appetizer to bring to a party. Have to check this place out in my next NJ trip! read more

I often stop by Melonis on my way home from work for a quick pick up of dinner. Their pre-made, heat & eat meals are delicious and so convenient. I feel it's a great way to have a "home cooked meal" without doing the cooking. We have had their soups, the chicken noodle being a family favorite. We love the scalloped potatoes, meatballs, and chicken cutlets. I also love that they have a variety of sauces I can grab and just boil some pasta when I get home. Their meats are always so fresh too. I've had lunchmeat to steaks to chip steak. Everything is reasonably priced for the great quality of food. The staff is always so friendly and very open to giving suggestions on their favorites which I absolutely love. The place itself is very clean and doesn't have the "sour meat" smell that most butchers have. It's spotless and always smells clean! read more

My wife and I regularly patronize this business. We enjoy the friendly service and delicious prepared foods as well as the deli items. Many times we have purchased the prepared foods for friends and family who have been I'll or recently had surgery. They can easily heated them up and have a tasty meal prepared with no work. It has always been appreciated and then they want to know where it came from so they can go there. I highly recommend them to friends and family. read more

Struck out today at melonies. Picked up 2 meatball sized crap cake , 2 pieces of fried flounder , and 12 fried shrimp , the bill came out to 43$. Come on guys that's like Manhattan prices , i was to embarrassed to say no thank you at check out , way to high and got yelled at by the mrs ,, Not buying fish on Friday there anytime soon lost two stars , and the people there are super nice too , I'm sad now !! Wow. First time coming here after driving past it for years... what a mistake, we only stopped in for the deli (ham, salami, and cheese) but I must say we will most certainly be back for more. Not only was the lunchmeat so fresh and delicious, but everything else in the shop looked fantastic as well and we can not wait to go back to try more. A real butcher! This place is great for prepared dinners in addition to the meats. Just pop them right in the oven. They even have some produce for last minute side dishes (potatoes, onions, tomatoes), pasta, and sauces. One of my favorites is the asian marinated salmon. I know! It's not meat, but is is delicious. But they so not consistently have it. My only gripe here is the hours. I wish they were open later. They days I get home late are the days I want to just stop in and grab dinner. Their hours make it difficult with my job at least. Also, their prices are pretty high. I wouldn't do my regular shopping here (I couldn't afford to) but it's good for quality meats and for certain occasions. read more

Everything is high quality and they take immense pride in everything they do (for good reason)! Their customer service is absolutely unbelievable and the product quality is just as amazing. Everything at Meloni's is great. They carry really great fresh mozzarella and other cheeses. Even beeter is their selection of premium delicious Italian deli meats. Spinach dip here is really good, too! One of the best butcher/deli's in the area. Good prices and friendly staff. Delivery for a fee but if you're getting them to cater your event it's a must. Went for my first time since I just recently moved into the area... One of their busiest days of the year (December 23) and they still provided the best service. I got two beautiful steaks for my husband and I and met a bunch of really nice people that work there. I'm looking forward to making it a weekly stop. I was given two meloni's ready to eat meals as a gift. Was told that they were very good quality. I beg to differ. I tried the eggplant rollatini first. Worst eggplant rollatini I have ever eaten. Spinach was very bland and over cooked. It had a miniscule amount of chese. Over all the whole meal is bland. read more
