I went to Scandinavian Design and bought a $7000 Sofa and scheduled delivery for August 17th, Escrow did not close for me on that date so I was not there but the sales office w gave permission for delivery crew to enter using keypad at front door, I spoke to driver and instructed him where to set up sofa and asked that he FaceTime me when he's done" when I didn't hear from him I called him and no answer, so when I moved in on next day I walked in and my sofa was thrown on the floor not assembled at all!! When I called the store the manager pretty argued with me that they should have never come into my home if I was not there" if that's the case they should have taking the Sofa with them! So the manager gave me a date a week after I move in to come back and assemble my sofa! So we would have no where to sit for a week! I had to hire someone to come and put together for me, and when the guy was unwrapping the sofa the leg on one piece was broken, as if someone dropped it! I spoke to delivery guy and told I paid to have put together already, he claimed he would tell store manager to reimburse me" that never happened. So I lost $75 I paid for that service. read more

Went in on the recommendation of a friend for good prices on wall art. Saw a piece we liked for 399.00 as we browsed the clearance center we saw a copy of the same piece marked 189.00z went back to check that it was indeed the same piece but when we returned the salesman who had been working in that area and the sale tag were gone .asked our salesman if they could ship and he said he'd check but came back to tell us that the clearance price was actually. 339.00. That's not even 20 % off.what about the price we saw ? Well it must have been a different item he said . But no it's there now had that price on them . What a waste if gas and time. F for failure & follow through. I called and ordered two stools early in the week- plenty of time for SD to place the order by the following Sunday so as to have them shipped to the store on the following Wednesday. I received an email stating the items had been ordered and would be delivered (to the store) on time (1/29) and I'd receive a call. Needles to say, no call on Wednesday or Thursday. I finally called only to find out they'd not been delivered/ordered and initially implied I had not asked for them to be shipped (this is wrong as I i have email confirmation of my order with a personal notation above confirming they would be to the store on (1/29). Their only (lame) solution was to place the order again and wait until the following week. My only reasonable recourse was to now cancel the order and buy stools from a reputable business. read more

Great store. Staff is helpful but allowed me to roam around undisturbed and I like that. Some prices are reasonable and some a little too high; but I did find some bargains there. Not sure about the quality, though. I bought a furnished condo and the sofa in my condo is for sale on their floor. The one in my condo shows a lot of wear for 3 years old, possibly the victim of owner's dog, I don't know. I'm still going in there looking for certain items and when I find exactly what I want, I will buy from them. The style of the furnishings is really great, they've got the Palm Springs desert vibe covered without being too hip and overpriced. Comparing them to stores in downtown Palm Springs, they are the bargain and worth the drive. read more

I bought a houseful of furniture here and was initially pleased with the design and pricing. (Their home delivery and setup of the beds was terrific.) But I bought an expensive leather sofa and two matching swivel chairs based on the saleslady insisting they were made in Germany using Italian leather. As it goes upon delivery I see the tags "Made in China." Materials made in China often deteriorate quicker leaving me wonder about stitching, cushions and dyes used. That was the reason I bought that furniture--because German quality is far more dependable. Also the frosted glass dining room table scuffs too easy. Buyer beware of this company. read more

I worked with Mary who was extremely helpful and never tried to hard sell me on any item. She was patient and offered many helpful suggestions throughout this process. Plummer's Furniture is new to the desert. Located in the shopping center just north of Home Depot, It is not the typical, overpriced, snooty furniture store that is so typical here. Very reasonably priced, good quality. The staff is very friendly and helpful.... and no one gets your name and follows you around. But, they are there if you have questions or need assistance. I'm still furnishing a new house and have been looking for something cool and contemporary. The inventory is mostly that. If you are looking for heavy Old World stuff this ain't the place. They have a huge showroom that has a sensible layout. The only con is that nothing is in stock. They have to order everything... It's usually available for delivery in a couple of weeks. So the manager asked what I would like to do with this situation. I told him that I would unfortunately need to return my entire order because if I had any problems in the future I would not want to deal with their customer service. The furniture was collected last Thursday afternoon and it is Tuesday evening. I did not see a refund on my card and called to check on it. A sales associate asked if I had received a phone call in regards to collecting my card ##. I can't say enough good things about the folks at Scandinavian Designs and their furniture. I purchased a home a few months ago, and have stopped in the store several times to shop for various pieces. I was helped by Mary throughout the several-month shopping process. We tried many, many, combinations, and Mary always showed me great options that I hadn't thought of that eventually made my home comfortable and stylish. On many occasions she encouraged and helped me to move furniture to other locations throughout the store so I could see how various combination worked together. This saved me from making more than a few bad decisions. Each time I visited the store, I made sure to work with Mary, and found her to be genuinely friendly, and interested in making sure I made the right choices. At one point, I had made an inappropriate choice, and Mary took care of the substitution with no hesitation, expressing that it was no bother at all. I moved into my new home last weekend, and took delivery of eight dining chairs, a leather Francesca sofa that matched my love-seat, a swivel chair form the same line, two end tables from different lines,and an Italian-design desk that is a work of art. The delivery folks were on time, friendly and careful (despite the triple-digit heat). One of the pieces, a credenza to match the desk, was on back order, and I was assured that there would be no additional delivery charge when it arrived. The Francesca line is truly high-quality furniture. The new sofa and swivel chair exactly matched my Francesca love-seat, despite my having purchased the love-seat two years earlier. The love-seat gets constant use, and this kind of durability is truly a sign of quality. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the style and quality of the pieces. The store is well laid out and I especially appreciated that items were well spaced and and creatively arranged. I will be purchasing several more items over the next few months and Mary and Scandinavian Designs will be my go-to place to shop! read more

This store offers well made high quality contemporary furniture at reasonable prices..I like their showroom with the natural lighting unlike Mathis Bros. where you can't tell what color something really is. The very best thing about this store is Quinton. He's a designer that gives you honest answers and suggestions. I was not impressed with the quality of the outdoor patio furniture we purchased. Many of the pieces had laminated wood boards that warped and became detached. I will say however that Scandinavian designs did stand behind the product and repaired, replaced or otherwise satisfied my concerns. To Scandanavian designs i would recommend that you source only good quality outdoor products even if that means charging more. I went to your store expecting better quality then what I received. I'd rather pay more for quality and not have the problems I had. read more

I have furnished two homes and most of the furniture came from Scandinavia. Quality is ample. We Did have some pieces need repair or replaced. My big disappointment came in the customer service and having to fight for a refund. It took 2 months of phone calls, going into store and eventually finding the company administration office. It was clear the salesperson and her boss the manager were fighting me the whole time. Never treating us like loyal customers. Sticking to the big excuse ...our computer system is so old. We have to look into it. They couldn't figure out they did Not Credit my card the refund....hard to believe but that was their story. Finally we called corporate office. THE BEST FURNITURE STORE IN THE DESERT. Normally I avoid chain furniture stores (WEST ELM, Crate and Barrel, etc.) because most of their stuff looks pretty for a while but wears quickly because its all overpriced particle board and their delivery companies are awful. That's not the case with Scandinavian Designs. I bought some beautiful pieces here including a solid wood bed, custom sofa and solid wood dining set at very fair prices. The merchandise they care is all made from top quality materials. Mary helped us pick out the perfect furniture for our home. She wasn't pushy or overbearing but was there to make suggestions and answer our questions. The sales team know their products. Mary was able to give detailed information on each piece we wanted to purchase. Her input was really valuable and made our decision making process easy. This store uses their own in house delivery team and doesn't contract it out. All our purchases arrived on time with no issues and Mary even followed up with us after. I will be a repeat.
