This place is quite expensive, but I found the results to be minimal. I waited one year before writing this review to see the effects. The virtual consultation cost around $375 and was conducted with an assistant, not Dr. Hazany or his sister Sarah (PA). In the first appointment, Sarah performed a patch test using a "cross" method to check for allergic reactions to the chemical. This test cost $600, but they informed me that I could apply the consultation fee towards my first procedure, which is normally $975. During the second appointment, Sarah performed the phenol cross treatment, charging per area of my face. For me, this was $900 per cheek, totaling $1,800. For the third appointment, I received Sculptra injections. They recommended one syringe per cheek, which resulted in a total cost of around $2,900. In the fourth appointment, they suggested subcision. I chose to only have the top layer of my skin treated, which cost $800 per cheek, totaling $1,600. They also recommended that I undergo the middle layer treatment (approximately $900 per cheek) and the deepest layer treatment (about $1,000 per cheek). However, I've decided not to return for further procedures. 2 Months after my last procedure, I noticed there's a line under my eyes, above my cheek bones and immediately contacted the office. Not sure if too much Sculptra was used but after 1 year, I still have these lines under my eye area. I got subcision for the top layer of my skin only so I don't think it was the subcision that caused this. I came in to see Dr. Hazany for a follow-up up and he said there's nothing they can do since Sculptra reverses my age by 10 years so it was likely that I had these lines when I was in my 20s ‍ I didn't ask for two syringes of Sculptra, it was a treatment plan they told me I needed! Sarah performed all my procedures and she seemed very nice. However, Dr. Hazany's attitude comes off as quite cocky, giving the impression of superiority. read more

Doctor Hasany is the most unprofessional and UNSKILLED doctor I have ever met, after admitting that there was hyperpigmentation due to the recommended treatment I was given, he goes in circles repeating himself and calling two different nurses to the consult to find blame. First he said it was due to my skin, that I was 1 in a million, later he said it was due to the cream I used for the aftercare; even though it was exactly what he had prescribed. When I told him that I didn't think it was professional to be calling his nurses to point fingers he got offended, he wanted me to take my money back, not treat my skin after what he did to it and to sign a 4 letter contract that would have unable me to WARN OTHERS. So please if you care about your skin don't overpay for this place just because of the location or the 5 stars. They are not legit. They were begging me for a 5 star review the minute I stepped in which I would have never mind given it but AFTER treatment. After many years of thinking if I should (and can) do something about my acne scars, I found the Scar Healing Institute on google, i read the reviews and decided to for consultation, I was told that the consultation is $380 and I agreed, I asked how much this adventure is going to cost me (roughly) and the guy said between 3 to 5k and I decided to go for it. When I met DR Hazany he was very nice and confident that he could really make a difference in my scaring condition, the only thing, it's going to require 5 sessions and he absolutely can't do it for less then $15000.. After all those years of thinking about it and the confidence of DR Hazany thought I wouldn't forgive my self if I wouldn't try ( even though it was a little over my budget) So..the first two sessions was Those vile injections, and they paid $980 to test which chemical my skin reacts best to. When I came to the third session that was supposed to be the chemical peeling, the doctor told me that my skin doesn't react to the chemical and we don't need it and we should proceed to the subcision. I told him that if I paid almost $1000 to test which chemical is going to use and he's not gonna use any of them. Why did I pay the money, he said he's gonna refund me for that. Never did Another treatment that was supposed to take place was laser , I called about five weeks after the subscission to schedule the laser treatment, I was told that it's too early and we need to wait at least two months after the big procedure, and they will call me to schedule that. Never did. I would also add, I have a bump on the left of my face that is still there..and 30% of my face is still numb.. If I would be able to go back in time, I would never go to through all of that, the change is not significant, it was very expensive, and definitely don't worth the downtime and the pain. read more

Dr. Hazany and Sarah did an amazing job revising my TCA burn scars. I had an unfortunate burn accident which caused disfigurement on my cheeks. I later originally treated for my scars with the use of energy devices by other practioners which unfortunately yielded not nearly as much improvement as I wanted. I was pretty close to giving up hope until I decided to give the Scar Healing Institute a try starting August of last yr. These scars have caused me a ton of agony and in the past I felt like other practioners had zero empathy for me with this accident. However, I felt like the team here at SHI truly cared about me. In addition to them being meticulous in their work, they are also all very fun to talk to btw! I had Phenol Cross, sculptra, and multiple subcisions done ~ including the liberator once ~ across 10 months and the improvement has been game changing. I would say around 80% - my scars have been lifted significantly and blended with the surrounding skin. Some of the scars have seemingly disappeared while the deep ones look much more shallow. I still want to pursue a dermabrasion to go to polish off my skin for further blending, texture, tone, and collagen regeneration (honestly I could skip this step as I am getting compliments for my skin already but I want to get my skin to a degree where it is as good as possible!) This is an invasive procedure but I have faith in Dr Hazany and his team to do a good job I will update the review with pictures to show my dermabrasion once I get it done and allow the redness to settle a bit. Currently started a new nursing job so gotta find time! All in all I'd highly recommend this treatment center and team for any skin issues ~ but especially pertaining to treating scars. I came to Dr Hazany because I was so insecure about my breast augmentation scars! They are massive painful keloids. I went in for my consultation a few days ago & the first thing I noticed was how GORGEOUS his office is! WOW! If you love luxury, you will definitely appreciate his space. It is also SPOTLESSLY clean- I would eat off his floors (LOL!) Moreover, his staff was so comforting, friendly & informative! I had SO many questions & concerns & they were able to put me at ease. After a long, hard year of being on Accutane and having severe nodulocystic acne, I was left with scarring all over my cheeks. I was so hopeful that Dr. Hazany was going to help with my scarring, but he ended up making it so much worse and treating me so poorly throughout the painful process. I met Dr. Hazany at my subsicion and sculptra appointment, where he became upset because I had stated that I felt like I had 10% improvement from the phenol cross. He made comments like "Your energy is just so negative" and "we might just have to cancel your appointment," etc. I started crying because of his sudden hostility. He handed me a mirror to watch the procedure. As I was crying, I saw blood running down my face, and I overheard him saying, "This will make you more positive." I was sobbing and asked him to stop the procedure because I felt so uncomfortable, but he continued. This was the first red flag I wish I would've listened to. Despite this awful incidence, Dr. Hazany's glimmering reviews and before and afters had me convinced that he could deliver the long-lasting results I was hoping for. So I called the office to continue with the Taylor Liberator surgery. I regret this with my whole life. Because of the surgery, I have experienced the following complications: droopy skin, a deep nasolabial fold, loose skin, loss of definition in my smile, constant stiffness in the right side of my face, as well as the formation of a deep linear line. He went very deep on the right side of my face, and now my skin has lost all its grip. Nothing is keeping it suspended or deeply attached to the base of my face. Because of this, all my skin is gathering at my smile line, making me look so much older! I seriously didn't understand what I was getting into with this surgery. Please be aware that you're cutting through your nerve endings, tampering w the fat that contours your face, and potentially cutting your retaining ligaments that keep your skin securely attached to your muscle (SMAS) layer in your face. My scars were shallow, and I had little to no sculptra on the right side of my face, so all the deep tissue he was releasing must have been my own connective attachments (ligaments, fascia), keeping my skin tightly bound to my face. Please know that you have very important attachments in your face that run the risk of being cut through this surgery :( Nobody told me that. Also, the more sculptra they add, the puffier your smile looks. Healing from the surgery took about a full year. On top of this, Sarah injected the majority of half a vial of sculptra after the surgery in the wrong area of my face, which has grown over the months since then and has literally destroyed my spirit because my scars now look thicker and more prominent than they ever were before. I have been struggling to work and have kept my face under a mask since then. I am in so much emotional pain because of how negligent this office was with my particular case. I really hope Dr. Hazany can improve on his standard of care and play a greater role in his patients's treatment plans so that mistakes like this don't occur right under his nose. He failed to assess me at the majority of my appointments, which made it easier for me to have complications. At one point, only a set of medical assistants were evaluating me prior to treatments. I was so scared and couldn't understand what was happening to my face, so I set up a follow-up. The office canceled it indefinitely and has not allowed me to be seen since. My primary care provider assessed the damage and has referred me to a plastic surgeon for puffiness, and asymmetry. I think Dr. Hazany is capable of great work, but unfortunately, he did not add any care to my case. A round of HA fillers knocked out my scars with a local derm, which made me realize that all of this collateral damage on my face was all for nothing. read more

Acne scars are extremely hard to get rid of. As Dr. Hazany put it, he regularly cuts cancer out of peoples faces and reconstructs them, and treating acne scars is harder. I've tried pretty much everything, including expensive microneedling treatments (1k/session) at another doctor in Beverly Hills, and nothing really made that much of a difference until I went here. I think these guys are as good as any other office out there that specializes in this stuff. Not only are the staff members warm and personal, but they're thorough. It's very pricey, but I had great results throughout the entire course (the cross, sculptra and subcision). I went from having deep, pocketed scars on both sides of my face to having essentially flat cheeks and temples. Each step of the course produced significant results, with the subcision doing the most. This has done a lot for healing old trauma from my acne years. I would say the results are fantastic. I got the tiniest hypertrophic scar (barely visible) in the wrinkle between my eyebrows from the subcision but it's not a big deal at all and Dr. Hazany assured me it will either flatten on its own in several months or it can be injected or shaved off. I'm not worried, even if I never get it removed, I'm satisfied with my results. My face looks great and several people have told me so. If you can afford it and the scars mean a lot to you and your mental health, at the very least these guys are worth the consultation. Dr. Hazany is a very skilled surgeon with a confident, personable attitude. He knows his stuff and he's on the forefront of acne scar treatment. His entire staff is lovely, friendly and reassuring. I have suffered from pretty severe acne scars for the past 20 years. I pretty much gave up my journey until I discovered the Scar Healing Institute. Having a darker skin type (I'm African American), I felt like there weren't many doctors who had the critical expertise in how to handle my skin. They punished me because they didn't explain properly what's considered a "treatment vs product". Actually the receptionist who also responds via text actually said/texted me that treatment for my kind of scaring can actually be either lasers or lightening pads are both. Those are the methods of treatment for my type of scarring. Consultation fee is something like $375 can't remember exactly but somewhere around $400. It will go towards your treatment but is non refundable otherwise. Fast forward to me seeing the doctor (he's super loud. Walls are thin so you know everyone's life story if in a room right next door. Beside him being a dermatologist there are procedures being done or ppl who have had sensitive surgeries or issues that they don't want ppl to know about. Noting this so he/they can begin to take that into consideration and be a bit quieter just speak and repeat at a normal tone. I heard everything of my neighbors situation.) he didn't recommend me do any lasering felt it "may" make the situation worse and we should begin with the lightening pads. Ok I'm stoked to begin treatment because he assured me he treat a my skin type all the time and I'm going to love his pads and I won't even think twice about the scarring after them. The nurse is preparing the pads. I go out to the receptionist desk to sign out and retrieve the pads. The receptionist proceeds to tell me I owe (I forget amount but a pretty penny not cheap at all) for the pads. I said ok great you're going to take it out of my consultation fee correct? No consultation fee does not cover product he says on treatment. I said uh? You literally told me the pads are considered a form of treatment. He's just stuck looking weird. I'm like I can show you in our text when you said they were considered treatment. He still stuck, no apology. I say well I need a refund. I'm not paying 400 for a 5min consultation that just says use a lightening cream. I'm all good for the money to go towards the product. I said can you get the doctor I'd like to talk with him about this, get a refund for consultation and pay for pads with that money. Receptionist said I'll go get him. But instead he goes back and tells him who knows what. But I can bet a million he didn't tell him that he himself is where the issue really lies by not telling a potential client that product is not covered under the consultation fee. Seems like that would be the first thing you say to every patients so they know what they're getting themselves into. So I know he didn't share with the doctor that. Meanwhile he's back there for a while and I have another dr appt with my homeopathic doctor up the st so I have to leave. He comes back out and I'm immediately like I gotta go to my other appt. He says we're going to refund you come back for the check after you me next Dr appt. I agree. As I'm at my homeopathic drs office I get a text from the receptionist that stated there were no more pads they were all sold out so I couldn't buy any. And the rest of the text read to me like after this refund I could no longer receive services. So I say for clarity it sounds like you're saying you're banning me after this refund, is that correct? he replies saying no that's not what he's saying. I've been a patient of Dr Hazany and Sarah for a year. I had old acne scars on my face that affected my confidence and had started to look worse with age. Every time I went to a new dermatologist or esthetician they would try to sell me on something I had done before and/or knew was expensive and would have no real improvement on my scars. So, I decided to reach out to the Scar Healing Institute. With all of that in mind, I think it's natural for a lot of us to go into something like this feeling a little scared and defensive. Ask all the questions you need. Dr Hazany has been understanding of the cost of the treatments and has been very transparent in talking through which treatments are necessary. They aren't trying to upsell you procedures which is an experience I've had with just about every other office in LA. Over the last year I have received Sculptra, phenol cross, and subscision as well as spot laser and spot injections which I requested for specific issues. I have seen a significant improvement from each treatment. It doesn't matter if Dr Hazany or Sarah does your procedure, they're both excellent. My skin has never looked better. The recovery from subscision was harder than I expected but everyone's body is different. I'm so grateful for how available Sarah, Dr Hazany and their staff were in supporting me throughout the process. Whether responding quickly over text or scheduling follow up appointments to assure me that everything was healing nicely. It truly feels like the team are always available for you throughout your recovery which is huge. Post subscision I was one of the few to have collagen lumps and numbness on my cheeks for a few months that have since disappeared and all feeling has returned. So if you experience this, or have seen people talk about it on forums, don't worry, it really does go away. And nobody else really noticed it but me. This is the first time in my adult life I've truly felt completely confident without makeup. They've improved my skin in ways that I've always been told weren't possible. Be patient and committed to the investment in yourself. This type of treatment can be a large commitment physically, emotionally, and financially but it's worth it. I was diagnosed with discoid lupus erythematosus in high school. I didn't see a dermatologist for years since I moved to the mainland for college, and unfortunately my blemish on my right cheek get worse. I removed a mole on my face April 2023 with Metropolis Dematology located in DTLA. They pretty much left me with a huge dented scar that I didn't like at all (Picture below) & I went back for 2 laser treatments thinking it would fix the issue. It did not. Plus I had a third one booked. I'm glad I did not go back!!! From there I started looking on the internet and came across Scar Healing Institute with Dr. Hazany. He assured me he could fix my issue because I arrived sooner rather then waiting one year for that scar to heal. Plus he knew exactly who did my procedure at that place without me telling him who... which was insane to me lol. Honest to god going in. Dr. Hazany is the real deal. I don't usually post Yelp reviews but I'm sharing this to hopefully help people who struggled with acne scars like I did. I have been to other dermatologist who have "upsold" me on product, procedures and solutions that were only temporary and didn't really do much. I decided to look into a more permanent solution and came across Dr. Hazany and his staff..the people involved at this place are genuine, and they made me comfortable with the whole process. I was in an accident and had some bad scoring on my right cheek and the kind of extended up almost above my eye on the right side and although the doctor that stitched it up was a plastic surgeon this car was still very visible and significant and made me feel self-conscious. So I heard about scar healing institute and went there and after the treatments the scar looks more like a slight wrinkle or just a line like an age line. I can barely notice it.
