All doctors and staff are dedicated in their job of taking care sick children. Front desk personnel are knowledgeable friendly and accommodating including sick visits. The accounting the back office is very helpful in resolving and helping me with my issues in billing with my insurance company. Altogether is a great and very busy pediatric office. read more

Dr Lee is our pediatrician and we love him! Almost more importantly, since you can't control who has availability if your child suddenly falls ill, we love every other Dr in the practice. We are happy here. The doctors are always available to answer questions (on call and open Saturday and Sunday!) and the answering service + front desk staff are surprisingly patient and kind. We like all 4 doctors from Scarsdale Pediatric Ass. We've been going there since our older son was born in May 2009. Although Dr. Halpern is my 10 year old's main doctor and Dr. Bookner is my 7 year old's, but they see Dr. Lee and Dr. Menco as well whenever we need to make a same day (emergency) appointment and the other two doctors are not in that day. We used quite a few on call service when kids were little - we were inexperienced parents at the time. And we can't always find and trust the info we search online. There's always a doctor is on call during off hours there. Last December when we took kids to visit their Grandpa, my 10 year old had an asthma attack and I didn't pack his inhaler. I called the service agent and asked to have the doctor to contact my husband directly while he was on his way to a local pharmacy with our son. Dr. Halpern happened to be the one on call that day. After she spoke with the pharmacist over the phone, my husband was able to get the prescribed inhaler and a spacer. We're so thankful! After all these years, we know the office is closed from 1 to 2 pm for an hour lunch break. Luckily, we haven't had any emergency situation that my kids need to see a doctor happened to be that lunch break. I think if it does happen, I would just take my kids to the ER at White Plains Hospital. Hey, doctors need a break, too! It's 9 o'clock, gotta go schedule an annual checkup... read more

Here's the quick rundown on this place: Staff is great Doctor Bookner: Great Doctor Lee: Great Doctor Menco: Great Doctor Halpern: Awful. Horrible bedside manner. Nasty, unpleasant, rude and obnoxious. Terrible to deal with. The last person who should be the on call after-hours doctor too. Sorry lady, but your JOB is to be understanding and patient. We hate to bother anyone after hours and rarely do so (we're working professionals who don't like it done to us either), but TOO BAD. If you didn't want that kind of responsibility, you should have become a dermatologist. It's hardly scientific, but I know many of our friends are like minded. Based upon the body language and facial expressions, I think the other doctors and staff feel the same way too. I really don't know how the other doctors keep her in the practice. They should boot her and find a professional who observes the same professional standards they do. She's a disgrace and true detriment to their business. read more

My experience was relatively bad.. bad enough for me to leave comment online. We had just 1 appointment for general checkup, and we felt offended when the doctor made nationalist/discriminating comment against my country of origin right on my child's face.. I didn't say anything, left with bad mood. Later on, I decide to call in and change to another doctor, the receptionist lady was rude and she smashed to hand off while I was still talking. And on top of all that, that's not a nice facility after all, the place is dark and the nurse does most of the work. I don't even want to give one start. read more

I would stay away. Long story short, went in 8 mins late (no parking anywhere) and doctor refused to see my child who was sick. Manager came out and told me he was instructed I couldn't be seen. I told them that in the past I've waited up to 45 mins patiently to be seen by the doctor and being 8mins late was not a cause for the doctor not to see us. The next day they called me and apologized and said my daughter can be seen, but the damage was done. Most doctors are good and seem that they care, the rest of the staff see you as a number. But that one experience left a bad taste, not going back ever again. read more

I can not recommend this group enough for the excellent care my son received for his recent illness. The office initially helped diagnosis him and then made recommendations for the specialist he needed. The doctors and staff called on a daily basis until he recovered, checking in on his recovery status and continually offering excellent advice and service. This group has been pediatricians to all 3 kids over the last 20 years and gratefully we have not used their service that much but they were present when our family needed them.... very grateful!! read more

Love love love them!! The staff and doctors are absolutely wonderful!!! The office closes at 7pm I had called 5 minutes to 7 because my 2 year old was spiking a fever for a couple of days and I was nervous if she had the flu. The woman at the front desk said come now!! We will wait for you ( I live about 20 min away) when I got there the receptionist was extremely patient and so was the nurse!! I usually see Dr. Halpern who wasn't there but Dr Bookner was. He took his time did not rush did all tests for the flu and strept ( results take 20 min) and everyone stayed with smiles on their faces. We have seen every Dr and every single one of them accommodating, professional and most importantly amazing with my children. Dr. Halpern completely gets my neurosis and takes her time to explain everything to me!! The nurses are all wonderful!! I would highly recommend this practice!!!! read more

Before giving birth to my first child I did tons of research and interviewed Pediatrians all over Westchester and was impressed by Dr Lee. Very intelligent, kind and had great referrals and reviews. And, for the most part the nurses are quite lovely with a caring bedside manner. The office is small, including waiting areas and patient rooms. It was always just a little uncomfortable finding space for a diaper bag, baby, myself and the doctor in the patient rooms. That wouldn't have bothered me if everything was great. My biggest issue with the office is the front desk staff. They are more often then not simply rude. Whether you're calling to schedule an appointment or checking in/out, I always felt like I was inconveniencing them. I never felt welcomed and they never seemed like they were happy to be there, just busy, rushed and bothered. Without going into to many details, I had the exact same experience as Ann G's post. Had an appointment at 2pm for my 5 months old breathing problems, he got worse so I went in a half hour early, kind of freaked that my infant was having trouble breathing. When we arrived I and was told they were closed for lunch and to go to the ER. I understand offices have rules and people work hard and need breaks. But kids and babies don't always follow rules and they don't close for lunch breaks. If we hadn't moved out of the area we would have definitely looked for another Pediatrian despite having a good relationship with Dr Lee. read more

My daughter is a patient of Dr. Halpern and she absolutely loves her. I found Dr. Halpern to be very patient with me me and my daugter. She was very knowledgeable. Dr. Halpern wrote down step by step instructions for me to follow. She made sure we understood everything prior to us leaving. My daughter has to see 2 specialist and Dr. Halpern and her front staff was able to get her an appt with them prior to me leaving the office. I love love love her. read more

Our son has been a patient at Scarsdale Pediatrics for about 3 years. On September 29, 2015, I called to make an appointment for him because he was home with asthma problems. I was told I could come in at 2:15 that day. Our son then started wailing from the pain of trying to catch a breath. He was gulping for breath so hard that it caused projectile vomiting. Terrified, I carried our nearly 6 year-old son to the car and raced to Scarsdale Pediatrics, then carried him across the parking garage, up 3 flights and down a long hallway to their office, arriving breathless sometime after 1 pm. I was so relieved to see that the waiting room was empty, I was hoping it meant a doctor would be able to see our wailing son very soon. Instead, we sat there for 10 minutes while I rocked my son back and forth, in a futile attempt to ease his distress. I had no idea why he had deteriorated so rapidly. Eventually the woman behind the front desk reminded me that my appointment was at 2:15. I said, "yes, but my son is very ill." "We're closed." The woman replied. "Well, where is the nearest hospital?" I asked, my sense of panic was starting to overwhelm me. The woman shrugged that she didn't know where a hospital was. "You don't know where a hospital is?" I said again, my voice probably rising. "No" the woman confidently assured me, she did not know of a hospital. Now, we live in Northern Westchester, but I didn't think I had enough time to get our son that far away, so I reiterated that I needed the nearest hospital. Another woman came out of the office area when she heard my voice rise. "My son is very sick, I have to get to the nearest hospital. I can't leave here without the address to a hospital." "Right. We see sick children here every day." The other woman stated, in a voice filled with sarcasm. Could this really be happening? It was completely surreal. Desperate, I pointed at her computer. "You can look up a hospital on your computer." I said, practically begging. After what seemed like a few more minutes, I was able to convince the woman to get the address. Then, she refused to write down the address for me so that I had to fumble desperately in my bag to write down the address. Then I carried my desperately ill son out of their office. (And you can be absolutely certain that nobody held the door open for me to make it any easier to carry my son back out of there.) The good news is that when I got my son to the White Plains Hospital ER, we were admitted IMMEDIATELY. The ER doctor, Dr. Mayer, told me he took one look at my son and he was, "all over it." I was so grateful that everyone was so good to us that I kept thanking them. They determined that my son had a bronchial virus (RSV) that triggered an acute asthma crisis. The care was superb, and once he was stabilized, they transported us via ambulance to Westchester Medical Center where they have a pediatric ICU. The care here has been absolutely outstanding, and we are hoping to be discharged later today, October 2nd, 2015. It is an ancient Chinese proverb that, "The fish rots from the head down." I have absolutely no idea why the women running the office were so indifferent and sarcastic. Their behavior can only be described as depraved indifference. What is apparent is that this attitude is obviously acceptable at Scarsdale Pediatrics. I am still so profoundly traumatized by this surreal experience that there is no chance we will ever return to this practice. The only good news here is that there is so much top-notch care available in Westchester that there is no reason to ever encounter such vile people. I will never again visit a doctor without carefully reading his reviews. read more

We LOVE Scarsdale Pediatrics! Our doctor is Dr. William Lee, and he is great. Dr. Lee is always warm and friendly with my two kids and happy to answer any questions I have. The office staff is friendly and accommodating. The office is a little outdated, so I was delighted to hear they will be moving to a new space across the street above the CVS (near Citibabes) this fall. I would happily recommend the entire practice. I like that they have two waiting rooms - a sick room and a well room, so you don't have to worry about your kiddos catching a cold from another sniffly tot when you go in for a well-visit. read more

My wife and I absolutely love Scarsdale Pediatrics. We have four children and have been going to this practice for 14 years since they were born. All of the doctors are great and really care for their patients. Especially Dr. Judith Halpern, who takes her time in knowing each child and understanding them. When we make an appointment with her, she takes us at the exact time we are scheduled. So we make sure not to be late. When we bring our children for sick calls, she always comes up with the right diagnosis. We feel so comfortable with Scarsdale Pediatrics that we would never go anywhere else as we have found great doctors who really care about their patients. read more

I was reading through some of the reviews and felt compelled to write something because some of the reviews were nothing like anything I have ever experienced. I have 3 children and having been going to Scarsdale Pediatrics for the past 13 years. I don't think in 13 years I have ever waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. I read one review that said she waited 1.5 hours. There must have been some major emergency that day because that is not usually the case. Whenever I have called to speak with a doctor, someone always gets back to me promptly. I have seen all 4 of the doctors over the years but usually see Dr. Halpern. She is very thorough and asks questions about my child that I may not have thought to ask her. I also like that she talks directly to my kids and asks them questions as well. Now my kids are getting older, but even when they were very young she would talk directly to them and include them in their care. I have complete faith in this practice and they have always steered me in the right direction. They have made appropriate referrals when necessary and always seem to make the right diagnosis. One time I took my daughter in to be seen when she was just a few months old and Dr. Bookner picked up on something and referred us to a wonderful cardiologist. Thankfully she is fine now, but did have to be seen by the cardiologist for a number of years after that. They don't try to over-medicate which some places do. They prescribe medication when it is really necessary. Dr. Bookner, Dr. Lee, Dr. Halpern, and Dr. Menco are all calm and reassuring. I have absolute faith in any one of them for the care of my children. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an excellent pediatrician for their child. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Bookner for the last three years when my oldest was born, my son also is a patient since birth. I trust Dr. Bookner implicitly and am so thankful that I have him as a resource while trying to raise two healthy children. We have never had an issue getting an appointment as soon as possible, a call back from a doctor during out of office hours, or issues with the front desk staff or nurses. With two young children, one of which is in nursery school, I feel like I am at this office every week (literally) so my experience with them is frequent and I am always pleased with the service and care my children receive. I highly recommend Dr. Bookner and the other doctors in this practice (as we have seen all of them at one point or another..). read more

The doctors are average at best and the wait times are always extraordinarily long (I've waited for up to 1.5 hours). The reception staff is quite rude and the nurses are careless. On one occasion a nurse insisted the doctor wrote down orders for blood work my 18 month old which he never mentioned to me. After refusing three times to allow her to draw blood, the nurse finally double checked with the doctor and realized she made a mistake. I need to find another practice. read more
