Dr Hough is the worst trying to bully me into give my 3 month old 6 shots; told me that if I didn't my "baby will die"

I wish I could split the review into the on-site and online/phone experience. The doctors and staff at the facility are amazing, but God forbid you need to contact them as you can't. Need a prescription refilled, good luck. Need to contact a doctor for a question, maybe within 4 hours a cold nurse lacking empathy will call you. I miss the old pediatrics on Hudson pre-merger as that was an amazing practice - and those are the people in the office still which is why the on-site experience remains outstanding. read more

Moved to Westchester and came here on the advice of a respected friend who is a doctor. So happy that she told me about Dr. Hough and this practice. Ive been three times now, and saw three different doctors. Dr. Hough was my favorite, but all three doctors were extremely patient, knowledgeable, and very warm towards my children. The office could use some upgrading, but the doctors and care are top notch. One Of my children needed to see a specialist and Dr. Hough recommended the most amazing specialist. I had tried WestMed in white plains prior to coming to this practice, and has a terrible experience there. I definitely recommend Pediatrics on Hudson! read more

I am so glad I went with this office. I love everything about it but here are the highlights. 1. All the doctors are women. 2. They have nurses you can call. I haven't taken advantage of this yet but I love that it's a thing. 3. They have been great during Covid. The curbside check in helps make sure that I can be properly distanced. 4. The front desk staff are all lovely and helpful. 5. Walk-in Telemedicine visits! My little one had some weird gunk in her eyes one morning so I immediately requested and received a telemedicine appointment in which the doctor told me it was just a clogged tear duct. Such a relief and I didn't have to leave my house. If you're not sure about it, just go with them they're great. read more

This office is the best . I called first thing on Monday morning to see about bringing my four year old grandson in for a COVID test since he developed a cough and cold. He would not be able to go to preschool without one. My son recently moved to Hastings and had pre registered my grandson into this practice. My son was also away and not able to bring his son himself. The receptionist explained that a first visit needed the parent to be there. I explained to her my situation and was very anxious about having him seen since I did not live here and needed to go back home. She put me on a short hold and told me I could bring him in. Phew ! I also pleaded for an ASAP time frame. She had us come in an hour later. We were promptly seen by Dr.Hough. She was wonderful and could not have asked for a more pleasant experience for myself and my grandson. This seems to be a very busy office , especially with children and COVID. I highly recommend! Pediatrics on Hudson came recommended to me by a good friend. He and his wife are a physician/lawyer couple and I figure if they liked it, it must be good. For the record, my husband and I are also both physicians and we just had our first born. As you can imagine the neuroticism between the two of us is through the roof and it's going to take a special group of pediatricians to handle us. Pediatrics on Hudson handles us, and more importantly our baby, very well. So far I've met 4 out of the 5 practitioners. They have 3 MDs and 2 NPs and have been impressed with all of them so far (I've met 1 of the 2 NPs). My big thing for health care providers is that they be thorough and up-to-date and so far all have been wonderful. Kathy Shea is a stand out NP and has the perfect personality for pediatrics. My baby loves her. When my daughter was a newborn we had a bit of a scare in the middle of the night and had to call the on call provider, Dr. Whalen. Thankfully we got a prompt response, with sound advice, and plenty of encouragement. We also got fit in for an appointment first thing in the morning for follow up. Being a new parent is terrifying enough, but to also be physicians who know the worst case scenario just adds to the hysteria. I am eternally grateful for the words of encouragement and reassurance. Appointments are relatively easily made, but Saturdays and evenings being harder to come by for obvious reasons. At least they have Saturday and evening availability. The staff was very helpful in resolving an issue with my insurance company when they were being a bunch of morons, as insurance companies tend to be. Groups are available for various common issues. I attended the breastfeeding group when my baby was 6 days old, which practically saved my ability to breastfeed. I showed up looking like a complete mess, on no sleep, crying through the whole thing and no one judged me. My husband and I joke that you know it's a good private practice when there is a fish tank in the waiting room. There is a fish tank in the waiting room. But in all seriousness, it is very difficult to trust someone with your child, so to have found a place that lets you relax a little bit and know that your child is in good hands is a big deal. I started bringing my children to Pediatrics on Hudson after doing extensive research on pediatricians in the area after moving to Tarrytown about a year and a half ago. The doctors and nurses here go above and beyond caring for our 4 children. Our visits are long and comprehensive. Any time I call with a questions the nurses are thorough and patient with me (I call a lot!). They are extremely knowledgeable yet nonjudgmental and very easy to talk to. This practice is wonderful! All physicians, nurses and staff are committed to helping our children. My son had a recent injury and had a narrow window to be seen by a specialist. My son first started off when Dr. Siegler had his practice in Yonkers, and then it was changed to Pediatrics on the Hudson. He's been going there for 19 years now and generally I've been happy throughout the years. I chose to have my son continue, even though we travel from upstate, just for continuity and to reiterate, we were happy. However, recently, I called into the office to dispute a bill because with my insurance, there is no co-pay for a routine wellness visit. The woman who I spoke to who's generally pleasant, was rude and cut me off numerous times. They also don't tell you that outside of normal business hours, they charge a fee, until you get the bill. Due to the aforementioned, I am now moving my son to another Provider. read more

Great doctors and nurses! They spend quality time answering all the questions I have.. which is probably why we do have a longer than average wait time. But it's worth it. Would love to see them make the waiting area more kid friendly with a few toys and books. read more

You know you've found a great practice when you don't mind which doctor your child sees for an appointment - and I mean *any* type of appointment (annual, emergency, pre-op, etc). Every physician is kind, smart, up-to-date on the latest news (and medical "rumors") and treats your child (and parent) like an individual, considering both physical and mental wellness as part of a whole. And we've never been rushed. The support staff is super helpful and patient, especially with last minute needs, prescriptions, questions, insurance issues and appointments (very understanding and flexible). We followed them from their former office in Yonkers and will never switch. The ultimate compliment: our 9 and 12 year old boys never complain when we have to go (even when there are shots involved!) read more

My first interaction with pediatric on Hudson was in 2010 while I was pregnant I scheduled to meet them on a Friday unfortunately the week before but I ended up giving birth the Tuesday before. When I met the doctors the first thing they told me is "Never be afraid to call if you feel like something is wrong its my experience that moms are right 8 out of 10x" My appointments and wait time have never been more then an hour and if they thought I would have a long wait time they always let me know especially for sick calls. Every Doctor and NP is absolutely amazing. My sister took my daughter to the doctor one day and left with an appointment for her kids. She was so amazed at how wonderful they were she switched her pediatrician. My daughter had Coxsackie virus 2 years ago and because of it she had some respiratory issues they call to check on her during the weekend and made sure the pediatrician on call was fully aware and familiar with her and although they could have done this behind the scenes she wanted me to know who was on call and know that they knew what was going on so I wouldn't have to explain to them what was wrong. I was glad to see that they were truly understanding of our needs as a parent. I love them so much I don't want to move to far from them so that my daughter knows what great pediatricians she has. read more

After moving from the city 8 years ago, Pediatrics on Hudson came highly recommended to us. Honestly, I was skeptical. We loved our drs in the city! Clean and beautiful office, and the doctors are amazing especially doctor Engelbertz he is the sole reason why I continue to go there. The nurses are great to however I can't say the same for the first desk staff apart from Amanda the other two receptions are HORRIBLE one girl named Sarah and a Shakiera are the least helpful and should not be answering the phones nor working the first desk. Especially shakiera who is rude and always has an attitude, she always looks miserable and never seems to want to help. She never looks happy to be at work and they constantly make me feel like I'm less than them and unwelcome. It's been multiple incidents where she has been very rude and I've had about enough of the nonsense. My son was born premature and constantly gets sick and suffers from respiratory issues so he constantly needs to be seen. Every time I go in its always an issue and they make a fuss every time so I always try and avoid them two ,but it's hard because they always there. Although I love my son doctor I no longer will be taking him there it's unfortunate because the doctors are great but I don't want to go where my son & I don't feel welcome. My child's care should be their number one concern and clearly it not. read more

When we first moved to Westchester (with only one child), a friend recommended Pediatrics on Hudson. The staff were great (Doctors and NPs), but I was irritated by the long wait times. However, three children later and more visits than I can remember, let alone count, I have come to love and truly value Pediatrics on Hudson. Dr Hough and Dr Whalen are wonderful. They are incredibly thorough and have sensible advice, not to mention being extremely down-to-earth and friendly, always putting the kids at ease. Eileen and Leslie, the nurse practitioners are fab, and everyone is extremely patient and kind. The receptionists too are lovely and Maria in accounts is also extremely helpful with insurance stuff - nothing is ever too much trouble. I highly recommend Pediatrics on Hudson and whilst they could update some of their systems a little (booking appts on email etc or sending records electronically), it's a great practice and I always feel in very good hands. read more

I love this practice. We have been with them for over three years, and couldn't be happier. We have had excellent experiences with Drs. Hough, Whelan, and Siegler and have found all to be knowledgeable, empathic, and patient. They take their time during appointments and never make you feel rushed. They are wonderful about answering questions over the phone and through their after-hours emergency line to avoid unnecessary visits or trips to the emergency room. Even with an anxious first-time mom, they were great about taking even my most minor concerns seriously and taking the time to discuss all of my questions thoroughly. An example of how they go out of their way for their patients: Once my daughter broke her nose while playing in a park down the street from their office. They skipped their lunch to let me bring her directly into the office and saved my already scared daughter from having to wait for hours in the emergency room.
