They see the child as a whole person and not just a cough or a rash. I have often had to wait (ex a 2pm appointment can often turn into a 3pm appointment or once for me, even turned into a 4pm appointment when a child with an urgent issue came in). If you hate to wait (or have a tight schedule), it might be frustrating. When my child is sick or has an issue - I don't want to feel like I have to go home and look things up on the internet to confirm the pediatrician gave me all the options and was up on the most current guidelines, research etc. I trust Westchester Pediatrics to tell me what I need to know and that's it. For an anxious mom who is a compulsive looker up of things, that's huge. I trust the care - no need to look anything up.

I was afraid she might have an ear infection brought her to PM pediatrics was told she has a really bad ear infection and that there's pus in her ear so I went and got her antibiotics. She was refusing to take the antibiotics so we called her regular doctor for her regular doctor. Check her to see what can be done. Turns out she has no ear infection. The receptionist was uncaring, dismissive and downright nasty when I asked her for ways to help me get her my daughters insurance info since I did not have physical card on hand. I was all ready exhausted with being up all night and worry about my childs issues with breathing . I hope that in the future they can hire someone compassionate especially when dealing with anxious parents and their children. A little empathy and guidance go a long way ! That being said i do want to acknowledge th enurse and doctor in the back - they were icredibly kind, patient and supportive . The truly made up for th epoor experience at the front.
