Recently went here with my friends and I was so scared the entire time I immediately needed to go get a drink after because I was out of breath. There's 3 different attractions you go to and you can get your tickets online which makes it super easy. There's even one if you pay a little more you can skip the line and get to go any day/time. We did the regular one and only waited 10 min until we went on the hayride. The Hayride wasn't as scary as the rest of it but was actually really cool to see everything set up, you can also tell when someone is about to come out of the woods and run towards you because the entire vehicle comes to a stop. Once you get off the hayride you go to the first walk through "the burial grounds" which leads right into the second one "the curse of the bayou". The only thing I didn't like about this is there's no break in between and I was so scared from the first one I was out of breath and literally running through the place. At the entrance and end of the last haunted walk through they have a few games set up, a bull ride, food truck options etc. They also put you back on the hayride and bring you right to the parking lot so you don't have to walk all the way back to your car. Scary acres is a must if you love haunted attractions. I had gone yearssss ago but it has definitely changed and grown over the years as this was my first time back there since forever ago. I went on a Friday night where it was insanely busy, you chose a time slot online so I figured there would be some structure and assigned lines per the times but it was just one LONG line of everyone. At first I was like ummm I don't think so but I stuck it out and the line to get on the hayride moved quick enough. It's worth the wait trust me. The haunted hayride was a blast..so much to see and so many scares I had so much fun. Once you get off then you go through the corn maze where it's just as eventful. The actors were awesome, great detail in every aspect of the haunt..very impressive. Once you find your way through you hop on another hay ride back to the beginning. I like how Rockwell amusements were set up with some rides, games and food that was pretty cool. Surprisingly the crowd wasn't overly rowdy or rude, everyone was "behaving" and enjoying the night. Definitely one of the better haunted attractions in RI and worth checking out!! read more

Dead not in a good way. Not many scares. Went along with what one of actors said in the maze, they said "your blood would look good In a chalice" so my significant other and I both agree saying "yeah it would" because we laugh anxiety off. To that I'm assuming his girlfriend got mad or insecure another female even spoke because she was hiding in the corn essentially slut shaming us thinking we were into her little boy toy? We came to start off our October with a visit to scary acres!! I am sure glad we did!! We noticed it when we went to confreda farms for their amazing fresh food and awesome decorations and pumpkin picking. This place is amazing!! There will be no spoilers I. This review but I will say it doesn't get any better than Scary Acres!! Just to say a bit! You take a Hay ride through a very haunted path the leads up to the Haunted Corn Maze!! So, pros first: The actors are great and I commend the heck out of them for offering the same enthusiasm show after show even with how cold it gets. The blue clown who walks the line, I'm looking at you. They get a five out of five stars. Cons: Do not, and I really truly mean this, do not go here unless you can shell out the thirty dollars for the VIP. On a busy night, us peasants who paid 20 for general admission were repeatedly and unrepentently ignored for VIP. For who got on the hayride, for who entered the corn maze, and maybe the most aggressively, who was allowed to go home (since you need another hayride to get back to your car, and we were told we were not allowed to walk it). And when the GA line is standing in the cold for thirty minutes while the VIP line is shepherded into the tractor, filling it three times, people tend to get annoyed. And the worst part was they weren't checking the tickets--they had no way of knowing if those people had actually paid for the VIP status that was so clearly bestowed upon a very. Important. Person. After waiting for two hours when we arrived at 7, and having most of the VIP line allowed to go before us (which, I understand. If you paid more, your wait should be shorter. But their wait was practically nonexistent) the actors almost made it worth it. It was fun and the actors got into character, but weren't afraid to break it if a child was honestly scared to tears. But then when the actors were done and it was all over, we were reminded just how little they cared for general admission. Just how much they didn't care if we waited while VIP walked into the line and promptly out of the line, into the tractor. And in fact, they didn't even check the tickets until a few too many GA people had shouted "but are you even checking their tickets?" Funny how quickly the VIP line thinned with people shuffling over to GA when he asked for that first ticket. It wasn't until the GA line had a full out French Revolution moment with "Can You Hear The People Sing" practically playing in the background as we got out of the line and physically stood by the tractor that was allowing people on that we were allowed to leave. When taking my 10-year-old nephew out for a night of getting spooked, I did not expect to take him back to his mother as a popsicle who has been taught that you either need money or to be utterly dishonest to get anywhere. I created a Yelp specifically for what happened tonight because it was disgusting and the staff ruined what the actors had done such a good job in doing. 1 star for staff. I evened it out for three stars. So, please, don't go unless you have the thirty or don't care about cutting lines, because they apparently won't even check if you have paid or not. I'm personally never going back. There are too many events around Halloween to ever return to such a bad experience. read more

I would give this place 5 stars. I went tonight for the first time. Line was about 1 hour long, $20 per person. Haunted hayride was about 30 min long and the haunted maze another 30. It was scary, fun, and defiantly worth $20. The reason I didn't do 5 stars was the cleanliness of the port-a potty's, and because some parts had little to no scares:employees (not many but about 1/3 of the hayride). Also, the no backpack rule is dumb. Should do no purses if that's the case. It's 2019, purses are backpacks. read more

For once I agree with everyone else , this was terrible. It was an absolute waste of money. I been looking forward to this all year and boy was I upset. There was a group of 4 of us , my boyfriend , and his 2 brothers and we all thought it was terrible. We went on a Sunday around 9pm so there wasn't a line which was great, would've been pissed if I paid VIP for this day since there wasn't a line. Any who the hayride was boring , the sets were boring and the actors didn't scare anyone at all. I think the hayride had major potential but they didn't have many actors at all. I think the actors were bored themselves. They weren't scaring anyone more like just trying to be funny. I think this whole place is low on staff! The set ups could've gave serious potential , like we went though 2 places with no actors I was severely confused. So we get off the hayride and wait in line for the maze. We get to the line for the maze and I made my self afraid for nothing. My anxiety worked me up and I was sadly let down.( I enjoy being scared ). The thought of the maze was scary but like someone else said they only scare the people in the front. I was in the front , but the people I was with didn't get any type of scare. And I was in the front and still wasn't afraid. I was more afraid of the corn making the spooky noise it makes. I would save the money and not go here. Only giving 2 stars because this place has potential if they hired more people and made sure the workers were dedicated to scaring and not taking it as a joke. I visit multiple haunted attractions every year in New England. I can say without a doubt that "Scary Acres" is the only one I have ever visited that I will never ever revisit in the future. It's been a few years since the only time I've gone. Judging from the more current reviews I can tell they have changed absolutely nothing, which is completely pathetic. Any seasonal theatrical attraction that just keeps doing the same thing year after year the same thing as them shouting at you "We Don't Care!" I had other plans that night but I was sure that setting aside 2 hours for a hayride and a corn maze would be plenty of time. I bought the fast pass. I must have shown up at about 6:30 and already there was a line all the way into the street. And in the fast pass line was clearly a bunch of kids who were friends with some of the actors who had free fast passes. They were being annoying and loud the entire night calling out actors. Well the attraction was scheduled to start at 7 but the hayride didn't start till about 8 even though the tractors were on and running since 7. Once we finally got on the wagon the tractor moved into the field and the first scene was a werewolf transformation. Clearly the wagon was suppose to stop and watch the transformation but the tractor kept moving without stopping. I could see the kid in the werewolf costume run out of the door on queue and suddenly realize he did all that acting for nothing. And that was the only acting I saw the whole night. The tractor driver never stopped anywhere, just kept plowing through. The scenes were awful with no story or creativity, Just kids jumping around, most of them didn't have anything in the way of a costume or makeup. Pretty much if you but a kid in a black patriots hoodie and one of those $5 masks from CVS and have him stare at you, that's pretty much what you get at this place. At some point in the hayride they have this giant Haunted House facade that is actually impressive to look at. But there was no lights on it and I waited to see what kind of scene they might have here. I honestly was expecting more kids in terrible masks but ... nothing ... the best structure they have at this place and they decided to do nothing with it ... amazing. Finally after the terrible hayride, which had like 2 minute stretches in between scenes with nothing happening, we get to the Cornfield. Now it's 8:30 something and I'm itchy to get going, this isn't was a "fast pass" is suppose to do. We get to the entrance of the maze and there is nobody there that knows what to do with the guests. A guy is on a walkie talking with someone like he just punched in 10 seconds ago to a job he knows nothing about. Mind you, it's a corn maze, you let people in, and they find their way out, that's it. I don't know if there are actors in there and I didn't care anymore. The lack of professionalism in this place was the worst I have ever seen anywhere. I got back onto the wagon and they took me back to the front where I asked for at least a refund of a Cornmaze price because they couldn't get their shit together. I didn't get a refund. The thing that bothers me the most is how many people still go to this place, that line should be 10 times smaller. There are other places to go and have a good time, a good time is what you make of it but this place doesn't offer a show worth going to ever. And there was staff members everywhere! A Whole hour went by after the place was suppose to be in full swing were people on there walkie talkies were standing around talking to each other about nothing important. And at the Corn Maze, I still can't get over how many people were walking around doing nothing. After the hayride they had a full hour and a half to figure out something, We were the first group of the night and one guy goes "Oh shit, now what?" And this wasn't the first night of the season either! 100% The worst. Support other businesses that work their asses off the entertain you for WAY LESS of a ticket price AND MOST OF THEM for a good cause too! Cannot believe this many people go to this place. And this was years ago. Not to mention whatever the hell this "protest" thing was in 2017. I've known this industry for a long time and I've never heard of anything like that. Awful, terrible, unprofessional, disgusting place. I'm not one to tell people to NOT go to a haunted attraction ... but DON'T Go here. read more

To the owners of the farm that run Scary Acres what a disappointment. If you could not staff the event it should have been canceled or you should have at least offered discount tickets. I wish I would have read reviews prior to attending. Been coming here for many years and it will be our last . Waisted $200 taking the family on a night out to walk through a corn maze walk through with no scare at AlL. You should be ashamed charging $35PP . Just want to start off by saying if you scare really easy then this place is for you. Don't get me wrong it's fun, just wasn't as scary that I thought it would be that people hyped it up to be. Recommendations: To make it more scary you guys could possibly add a fear to touch pass for the people that don't get scared easy. Also add more scares in the corn maze. When your sending the groups through the corn maze try to spread out the groups better. But other then that this place isn't all that hyped up to be so I'm giving it a 3. It's a fun place to go to and have a good laugh but if you don't scare easy then this place is not for you. The ticket rate is deceiving and think that you're gonna get it's worth but it should be like $15.00per kid and $18.00 per adult. We came at the end of the evening when they didn't have a lot of actors. But the actors that were there really put on an incredible show. It's really hard for haunted attractions these days to actually have enough actors to effectively run due to the pandemic but as well as a labor shortage across the country but I digress, the light work was wonderful the setting was beautiful it did a really good job using natural elements added with modern technology in special effects. One of the most effective things was on the haunted hayride was a circus scene and this contortionist came out of a suitcase and it was just one of the most incredible moments of the show, Later walking through the corn maze without many actors in it made it a little bit more unsettling because when an actor dead come out at you it was by surprise. read more

Wow...what happened to this place. Last year was great and this year was such a disappointment. One of the workers actually told us they were protesting and not going to scare anybody. This guy should have been at the front BEFORE we payed our $20. The hayride was a bore and the only scare I got in the corn maze was a non worker who did his best to scare people. I really wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I've been coming here since I was a little girl and it never disappoints, until this year. I paid 40 dollars for my boyfriend and I (who has never been) and it was the biggest mistake I could have made. The supposed "haunted" hayride was awkward and boring. Only about 3 or 4 "scarers" even attempted to scare us. We finally got to the "maze" after that god awful ride and they didn't even wait to get us in there. There were tons of people ahead of us and behind us making the whole thing a mess. Apparently the actors were all on strike for some reason about new management and didn't jump out to scare anyone. Only about 2 or 3 attempted to. I basically paid 40 dollars to walk in a pathetic corn path. This is just so upsetting because we work hard for our money and it was overall a huge waste of time. I will not be returning next year and will make sure to tell anyone I know that thinks about going not to waste their time or money. I hope to get a refund, it was awful. read more

I've been going to Scary Acres for many years, but this year is definitely the best! My group of 5 friends, screamed through the entire hayride and into the corn maize. I don't scare easily, so I was very surprised to be totally frightened at every turn. We are all going back this weekend, again, as it was such a blast!!! scary acres 2023 where do I start well the haunt it's self is amazing so many cool sets and props and animatronics and the actors are amazing this year. my favorite scene by far is the hayride clown scene that one girl who puts her leg over her head and comes out the suitcase is so amazing such a great actor shes killing it i would go back just for her she was my favorite part the corn maze was also awsome some deadspots but the sets were so awsome read more

Very disappointed by this place. I ordered tickets for my friend and I. Their website was so confusing and to many different branches off of it. I tried to buy tickets for the 30th of October. The ease of clicking "Buy" was too good to be true. Unfortunately, I became aware that my tickets were for the wrong date. I lost 52 DOLLARS thank to their disorganization. I tried to call to figure out a different way to fix my issues, and a creepy sound played and no one was there to answer my call. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! I went with my husband and we had such a great time. I wasn't particularly scared during the hayride, but I still really enjoyed it. It was a good 20 minutes long and I was impressed with some of the infrastructure they put together for it. But the corn maze... Now this was something that definitely did scare me. People popping out of corn. And it is good that they only let a few ppl in at a time so that the thing isn't packed with ppl. Overall, I'd say it was great! If you want to bring kids, I'd suggest not bringing them if they are too young. I saw several kids crying. Haha. It was a bit too traumatic for them. After attending other haunts in RI and seeing what they charge Scary Acres has been the only one so far that reaches the value I paid for it. The tickets feature the hayride and maze for at least half an hour of scares. The atmosphere was very well done to be spooky and utilized the land they have very well. I would have liked to see some scarier attractions but I am relatively hard to scare. I was pleased by the effort that went into the attraction and plan to go again next year. read more

It was nice to go once, but I wouldn't go again. We showed up at 6:30 to beat the crowds which turned out to be a smart idea as there were only 50 or so people in front of us and once the hayride officially started (a little after 7pm) we waited no more than 5mins. The hayride is fun but not very scary...it was an overcast night which made the cornfields look really spooky, but the lack of scary music meant I just sat there waiting for someone to jump up on the cart. After that you wait in line for a corn maze, and that was fun but my brother commented that it seemed like there were less actors than in the past. It wasn't scary at all. If I had waited more than an hour for this I would have been disappointed, but as we got there early and flew through the line I'll say that it was enjoyable but more for small kids. BOO! Did I scare you? No? That's OK, I'm not very scary. But the haunted hayride and corn maze at Scary Acres is! I came with a large group of friends and it was a great pre-Halloween outing. With the online coupon code, it was $17 (including processing fee) for both the hayride and the corn maze. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a ticket before you get there to avoid standing in two lines - and PRINT your ticket out to avoid internet glitches at the end of the line! The hayride itself is pretty standard. People jump out at you, there are some creepy scenes. the wind rustling through the corn in the dark is eerie. If you've got younger kids, I recommend sitting in the inside seating of the hayride - that way nobody is jumping up RIGHT behind them! Unless you have really badass kids, in which case you should sit in the back of the hayride where the actors will jump up on and invite themselves right in. (The actors can't touch you, so do them a favor and DON'T TOUCH THE ACTORS!) The corn maze is cool and creepy. When we went it was a little empty of actors, but it was already after 11p - I am guessing some had gotten tired or gone home. We didn't arrive until after 9p, getting there earlier might get you a better experience. Expect a wait - we waited a little over an hour to get on the hayride. It was worth it! read more

Come here prepared to get scared. Its much more fun that way. Trying to be a tough guy in this place is like being the Debbie-downer at a shindig. Can you say party pooper? I ran into people like that on the hayride--ruined it for me. Comments like: "oh that's not scary." "Ha. you got scared?!" SERIOUSLY, just go home if you are going to be like that. It was a bit chilly and crowded when we went there. We were all packed into a wagon for the hay-ride. I'll admit, it wasn't too scary. If you are easy to scare or scream (like I was at the sound of chainsaws) then actors WILL hover over you and stare you down. Which is not only creepy-- but super uncomfortable. Which, hey... I can't complain, it's kind of the point. They then drop you off in the middle of the field. At one point you feel really jipped saying "That's it?!?" Then you realize that there is this massive line going into the corn maze. After waiting in line to get into the hay ride, I wasn't all too enthused having to wait in line again. After what seemed like a long time jumping up and down in the cold huffing warm smoke from my mouth... we got in. The corn maze made everything worth it. The confusion of where to go and dark dead ends made it spooky. The uncertainty was the killer. Every now and again the actors would come up and scare you in the middle of you getting lost. It's a bit of a downer if you are stuck or run into another group. So try to separate yourselves, you're more bound to get your money's worth. Overall the corn maze was the real seller. If they had removed it then it would have been a major flop. Not sure if I would go again next year since I would probably expect all the old tricks. It's great for a first-timer. Would definitely recommend for groups that don't have a "tough guy" complex. read more

Don't bother getting tickets online because there wasn't a wait at the booth but they did such an awesome job! We were at the complete end of the line and it took only about 45 minutes total to get on the hayride. The whole experience was about 1 hour and for the price it was well worth it! TERRIBLE! Don't waste your time or money! Not scary at all! I don't mind paying $30 for VIP if the experience is worth it but it wasn't ! We went 2 years ago and it was amazing... best hayride and corn maze by far BUT this year was so dull and boring. I wish I would have read the yelp reviews this year prior to wasting my time and money. SCARY ACRES should be shut down as they are promoting a service and not delivering! needs more workers! we were bored a lot of the time just walking with no scares. it has such a good concept with the hayride and corn field maze but it lacks workers. as of right now it's really only good for kids under age 13 or so. not worth the money if you don't scare easily or if you're older. with some improvement this place could be great. read more

I have been coming here for the last few years and loved it. I am easily scared and hate these type of things. (My friends love them so I keep going) During the hayride a clown danced and told us to "swipe left on tinder." No one came up to the tractor or even tried to scare us. Once starting the maze, a worker told us the scarers were protesting the management's new rules and would not be scaring us. We thought it as a joke. Sadly it was not. We saw maybe 4 scarers during the whole maze. You basically are forced to walk a dark corn maze. The only thing that saved this was my friends hiding ahead and scaring us. (The only scarer who tried was a woman in a tent with feet and hands on a board-she stayed true to her character and was great) We ended the night by waiting outside the ticket area waiting for a manager with a group of 20 strangers wanting a refund. Awful experience. Scarers did not do any scaring as they are obviously having some issues with mgmt. Wasted a few hours of time as well as $20. At the end of the night at least 30 people were outside demanding a refund. A couple individual's got to talk to mgmt and apparently have a phone number/somewhere to contact... I will update this response whenever (if) we hear back from them. Until then, DON'T GO! Use your time and money elsewhere. For reference, I came last year and thought it was great. This was my second time visiting and I am definitely impressed! The hayride is pretty scary, nothing too awful though. The corn maze is downright terrifying, it's hard not to run through the whole thing. The price is a little steep but it's understandable for the amount of work that goes into the production. My only complaint is the wait time. It was busy so I can't blame them, but waiting in line for a total of about an hour and a half seems a little ridiculous.
