The $10 extra we each spent on VIP was so worth it! I heard the wait was about 2 hours long and our group waited about 20minutes to get on our hayride. We didn't do this earlier in the season when we came, but I wish we had! We come here every year and have never been disappointed! The hayride was packed full but we enjoyed it because our whole group got on together. We had some great screams and laughs from the scarers which made the ride alot of fun. We thought the corn maze was even better with lots of creepy actors. We came earlier in the season and since then I noticed alot more scarers and scenes had been added (some of our group thought it had gotten way scarer). Here's my stance as someone who's been here for around 5 years. I've been to other haunts. I went up to Salem a few years back at their famous haunted houses and they just couldn't deliver anything. It was all so obviously staged and fake. Fun but no atmosphere. But i went through scary acres when I was a kid and they delivered true terror. Not much scares me but this place was just so good. I come here because this haunt delivers what others can't. They have people dedicated with their entire being to making scares happen. Last night I heard screams echoing throughout the entire haunt all night. All night. No other haunt I've been to can deliver that. I love this place and I encourage you all to try it out. We make it a point to go to Scary Acres every year. They put on a great show. Good scares, great props and wonderful costumes and makeup. Be sure to spend the little bit more for the speed pass. It cuts down the wait tremendously. It's completely worth the money. read more

Seems like a lot less actors than there used to be.... the hayride was not scary at all... the few actors that did jump out were not really scary... seemed like they aren't trying. The corn maze is not a maze wich is fine I don't want to get lost in the corn... it's more of a haunted corn path.. this was a little scarier than the hay ride. But if you end up right behind another group it ruins it.. you hear/see what's coming up so it ruins the surprise... the actors in the corn maze did a better job than the ones on the hayride but it still seemed like there should have been more... I will probably go again next year maybe they will have more actors.. if not they should lower the price a little. read more

this was my first time here and I am usaly scared very easaly and I was not scared at all on the hayride. The corn maze was scary and I did not like how the people dresses up in the corn maze got so close to your face because I hate it when people are in my space. Also in corn maze we were walking through the building that had a creepy witch in it and did not realize that someone was on the ground and tripped over the person.So be more carful where u put peopel. Man, I am in the wrong business! Went on Sunday, October 9, and there were thousands of people in line. It took us 2 hours after buying the ticket to actually get on the hayride. Costs $18, which I think is outrageous. Scary Hayride was OK. The Corn Maze is not a 'maze' per se - it's just a trail that goes thru a field of corn. Yeah, people jump out and try to scare you, but it wasn't $18 worth of scary, for sure. The scariest part of this place is the time and money wasted. As a person who is not keen on haunted houses and get freighted easily this was a joke. 20 dollars to get in 30 for VIP passes. My group got the standard 20 dollar pass. I was better off dropping my money on the ground and walking out. We waited in line for 2.5 hours. The ride finally started and it was a joke. Horrible actors. Horrible props. And it lasted all of 10 minutes. Then we get dropped off at the corn maze. Little did we know there's a line for that. That line is another hour long. I am NOT a person who enjoy these types of attraction, but after being convinced by my friends I took the leap and came tonight. It was a really good time!! The hayride wasn't too scary, but more suspenseful to watch your back and see what was coming next! The corn maze was what scared me the most! Actors pop out left and right when you least expect it and at one point I had a few give a good scare from following behind me! Even though I'm not a person to enjoy these types of spooky activities, for $20 general admission and 2 attractions, I did enjoy myself and the long lines being spoken about moved fairly quick! What a perfect night for a haunted corn maze! Glad to report Scary Acres RI delivers an entertaining assortment of jump scares and a good amount of atmosphere. The character out front who was working the crowd was doing a hell of a job and had some truly sinister looking makeup. That said, the line was long enough to warrant another actor or two. The hayride was as fun and hokey as one might expect, not a complaint. A suggestion might be to invest in more makeups like the one the guy out front had an rely less on workers dressed in overalls who are scary because they are rednecks, and obviously rednecks eat people. I'd love to see a haunted house with no Devil's Rejects or Clowns just other creeps and ghouls, more original or perhaps more old school. The line for the Corn Maze after the Hayride was daunting but led to one of the biggest successes of the night and truly ranks with one of the best experiences I've had at a haunted attraction. Congratulations on spacing people out as they toured the corn maze with an uncanny accuracy that in all my years of going through haunted attractions I may not have witnessed. A lot of time must have gone into figuring out how far to space groups apart. This causes a long line but ultimately is always worth the wait when you don't have groups running you down or passing you stealing jumps that were meant for just you. We spent most of our time in the maze completely segregated from other groups and only passed by other groups for the briefest of moments providing us with maximum jump scares. Pretty good for a busy opening weekend. Lastly I have to mention some of the sets were beautiful and truly works of art like this haunted house, I remember from past years, that the hayride drives through. This place is absolute cheeks please do not go. Not scary unless you're ages 5 and under and I don't think that age group is even allowed admission. It's very infuriating to spend 20 dollars on such a lacking experience. I looked at reviews that said this place was legit and cool. Wrong. Scary Acres is a horrible waste of money. It's the least scary attraction I've ever witnessed. The hay ride is pure comedy as maybe six or seven actors with terribly done makeup hop on and pretty much just crack jokes the whole time. Most of the hay ride and corn maze are traveling through the darkness waiting for a building or some scary person to approach which rarely happens. After waiting in line for an hour you get on the hay ride which lasts ten minutes then you get off and wait in another line for thirty more minutes and enter the worst corn maze of all time. Tell me that doesn't sound horrible. I swear this place either pays people to give it good reviews or writes reviews about itself. Such a disappointment PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. read more

Went here this past Saturday with a group of 5 of us and thank god we got the VIP the wait was over 2 hours and we passed everyone and got almost right to the front. Only 10 bucks more you cant beat it. I thought the hayride was great but then we got to the corn maze. That was awesome. Some really creepy sets with some great actors... Before getting on the hayride i heard some "scarers" called out sick but i was happy to find plenty of actors still in the corn maze jumping out. My buddies and i came down from Dartmouth, mass and we will definitely be back next year. read more

Just went to Scary Acres last night... and it will be the last time I ever set foot there. Which is sad, I've been going for almost 13 years now, and although it has had its ups and downs, this year was by far the worst. They hired some second rate security team that was just terrible. The crowd control for the hayride was even worst. The workers were friendly, but not very well trained. We got on the hayride, and nothing happened for the first 5 minutes (I am not exaggerating). Then when somebody finally jumped out, they were laughing and not even in character. The sets were so old and tired (they never updated them). Not to mention there were probably a total of 12 actors for the entire ride and not one jumped on the hayride. Very disappointed. As for as the corn maze... well it wasn't even a maze. It was just a path, with literally no lighting, no props and barely any actors. It was weaker than the hayride. I have a feeling this place won't be open for much longer. read more

DON'T GO. We know wait times are long for these attractions, which is fine when it is worth it. To have waited over an hour for the hayride then another 45 minutes for the corn maze and then be completely let down is RIDICULOUS. I have to believe that the positive reviews are fake. There is nothing scary about these attractions. Such a disappointment. The corn maze is NOT a maze; it's a path where you walk with people on your heels and once in a while there is a 'scary' guy standing there. this place is not worth anybody's time. I've been going to scary attractions for years every halloween season. I usually go to some attractions multiple times, but this one i for sure know i would never even think about going back. There's a huge lack of professionalism. Staff have no idea what they're doing and none of them could give a care if you were experiencing something negative. The line to get on a hayride was about two hours or more long that could've easily been 20 minutes if they knew what they were doing. It didn't help that kids were cutting the line and not a single staff member said anything, nor did the actors, who were out of character! I read past reviews and it seems the place hasn't changed, nor will it ever.So do not bother getting tickets due to not being able to get a refund. Went with a group of 10 and I have to say I am very easily scared i was so nervous in line but this was literally the worst haunted hayride\ maze I have ever been too it should be called not so scary acres ! The maze took about a half hour to walk through and maybe 3 people the whole time jumped out on us. Pretty scary just not for us. Went there with my boyfriend around 7:30 on a Saturday night. There was a huge line, hundreds of people. I thought to myself "this place must be good" there were a lot more people than at other places. We opted to buy the VIP tickets to bypass the line which was a good thing because if I waited 2 hours for what I got I would have been the scariest thing there. The hayride was standard, nothing special but not bad. The issue I have is in the corn maze. We heard lots of action going on, chain saws, people screaming. But rarely if ever did we get a scare. It's like because we were 2 guys no bother trying to scare us. I even came across one actor sitting down with the chain saw resting on a fence. For $30 a person I am pretty put off. We got much more scare for $18 per person at the new Spooky World in Cranston. read more

I must say I wanted to love it. I think it is a great time length but the lines are WAY too long. We got there at 8pm. Bought our tickets online and got right in line. We waited an hour and a half just to get on the hayride. There was ONE actor that "scared" guests during this long boring wait. And he didn't even scare anyone (Just stood there). I don't typically complain because many of the actors I am sure are volunteers but my Fiancé and I and my sister and hers spent $80 tonight to wait in a long line and then have a mediocre hayride. The cornfield was yet another long line to get in and there were barely any actors. I know that it takes a bit because they want to allow actors to reset, etc. but the wait was crazy! And not entertaining as with other places that have people entertaining you as you wait. The cornfield was not that scary with your occasional jump scare. I will say that I did feel safe though! With all of the security! So thank you for that! I'm not sure i'll return here especially for $20. Maybe next year if they fix it and improve it! read more
