The hype about the beignets is not overrated. They are fluffy, and light, and delicious sugary clouds. Definitely recommend taking the detour (if you are not staying at the hotel). I recommend going to Disney's Springs and taking the boat from there to the hotel. The setting is super cute as well. Disney never disappoints in their immersion experience. The beignets come with an option of Carmel or chocolate sauce (besides the powder sugar). I asked the server for suggestions, but he didn't have an opinion. We went with the caramel, which was good but honestly they don't need a sauce, so we didn't really use it. An employee gave us the scoop and said the busiest time is the middle of the day, so if you want to avoid the crowd come before 12:30 or after 3pm. read more

My daughter and me came here to try the iconic Mickey beignets. Just FYI, you can't just park at the Disney resorts - they don't have enough room. You need to utilize free transportation to check out the dining at the resorts, unless you're staying there. We went to Disney Springs and took the free boat over to the resort. We had to wait about 25 minutes to get on the boat (it was a busy weekend), but it was a really pleasant 15-20 minute ride and the view and weather were fantastic. Once at the resort, we worked our way over to Scat Cat. There was a long line, but don't let that deter you, it moves pretty fast. I think we waited maybe 20 minutes. The line was all the way into the dining room. The options are 3 or 6 beignets, or you can get a sundae with 2 beignets or they also have Bailey's filled ones. We went with the 3 beignet option. They are much prettier if you get them for dine in - they come out on a big plate, vs a bag. You can also pick either chocolate or salted caramel dipping sauce. Honestly, you don't need a sauce, but it's worth trying. We went with the salted caramel, which was good. The beignets are HUGE and delicious! The best I've ever had. They are messy - lots of powdered sugar, but so worth it. We took advantage of the pretty walking trails along the water, after we ate, to work off some of that sugar and check out Riverside next door. Beignets so good that I actually got them twice in a week! I visited Disney Springs and took a friend with me on the boat over to the resort. We visited mid day on a Saturday and surprisingly there wasn't a ton of people which made it just that much more enjoyable. This was during Halloween time so I NEEDED the spooky beignets. These beignets were coated in marshmallow drizzle and a cookies and cream dusting. They were delicious! They came out very hot and gooey. The perfect sweet treat to share for a mid day snack. The service was good here. The employees were nice and took orders swiftly. The wait was only a couple minutes. I was able to grab a table inside the lounge area. First visit here but likely not our last. We actually had dinner at the restaurant that used to be in the same space 30+ years ago on our honeymoon. The Pimento Cheese Fritters were delicious, Andouille Nachos (andouille, red bean chili, cheese sauce, trinity pico and sour cream on tortilla chips) were really good and the seasonal Ghoulish Beignets (Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with cookies and cream powdered sugar and a ghoulish marshmallow crème drizzle) were amazing! Everything seems to taste better when it is Mickey shaped. Unfortunately the Hurricane was pretty basic and meh. I would not order it again. Other tables seemed to have more attentive waiters. We were seated immediately and able to order timely (in part because we knew what we wanted before we even got there). The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time but tables seated after us received their food first. The wait for dessert was longer than other tables as well and long enough that we started to think it was forgotten. The longest wait was when we were done and waiting for the check, really did not seem to be an excuse for why it took so long. There was live music for part of the time we were there. Unfortunately our view of the stage was blocked, mostly because the space was repurposed into a lounge from a restaurant designed to feel like one in New Orleans. There really was no where good to place the stage without a significant reconstruction to remove the courtyard space in the center. The music was very good jazz versions of some Disney classics as well some soul standards. The musicians and singer were very talented. Since my wife was born in Louisiana and we spent our honeymoon at Port Orleans, Cajun and creole cuisine are a big part of special dinners and our lives as a whole. So we will definitely be back both here and the resort in general. If they would convert some of the buildings to DVC studios and villas would be tempted to purchase more points to make this our home resort. read more

Our order came out quicker than we thought and had plenty of powder on it. The taste was a little less appetizing than the Halloween Oreo marshmallow option. This one was raspberry flavored, and while I LOVE raspberries this one tasted very artificially. I wish it was a little lighter of a raspberry taste. Scat Cat's Club Lounge is a fun place to go if you're staying at French Quarter. They have live jazz band performances Fridays through Sundays starting at 7:30PM. We visited on a Friday at 9PM ish and it was packed. You seat yourself and then the server will come up to you to take your order. The drinks were decent, but the jazz band was really great. They do take 15 minutes breaks every so often in case you walk by and don't hear any live music. Scat Cat's Club Cafe right outside adjacent to the lounge has Mickey shaped beignets, which were fantastic. Easily the best beignets I've had across both Disneyland and Disneyworld. I saw a lot of people stopping by just to get the beignets, I don't know if I would resort hop all the way to French Quarter to get the beignets though. They have seasonal beignets it seems like, but we just had the classic powdered sugar ones and they were great. $7.99 for three, with one sauce (chocolate or caramel) - we liked the chocolate sauce more $12.99 for six, with two sauces of choice Great vibes, would go again! read more

I ordered the bbq rings and pimento cheese fritters which I've had in the past at riverside, and these were no different they were delicious. Plenty of meat on the wings, flavorful. All the food came out super fast, the pimento cheese fritters may have came out a little too late. Hidden gem in Disney's Port Orleans resort!! This was my first time visiting Port Orleans and Scat Cat's Lounge. The theming is on point with a New Orleans southern jazz club theme. I got the Hurricane which was a specialty cocktail for the lounge. It was delicious and fruity! The espresso martini was good, nothing special, but the real star of the night was the beignets. We were here for two reasons, the seasonal beignets (Haunted Mansion themed?) and the Kahlua and Baileys (three reasons?). My first visit to this resort was back in the late 90s. My family fell in love with the beignets. It was the only place I ever had them. So many memories with my family and grandma. We try to make a visit here every trip even stay at another resort. A while back they changed the beignets to a Mickey shape. They don't taste as great as the regular ones back in the day did that just melted in your mouth. So the recipes must be different. The staff here was so kind and friendly. It did take awhile to get my order done I had placed it. This was the first time I've ever heard of dipping sauce for beignets. They were still so good but I do miss the ones from my childhood. The chocolate sauce was a bit rich and bitter and the strawberry had some zing. I even picked up a shirt about these at the stop next door. read more

Needless to say I was very happy. Rest assured we will return again Especially to come out and hear the young lady. I believe her name is Olyvya Kells and the two piece musicians that accompanied her were also very good. Located within Port Orleans French Quarter. Simple parking, they will let you park if you tell them you are stopping in to the Cafe/lounge. This is one of our favorite locations to visit near WDW. We come as everyone does for the warm, pillowy beignets. The chocolate sauce is so flavorful, and the strawberry sauce is like liquid strawberry jam. I haven't tried the caramel sauce yet. We are looking forward to trying the Halloween special beignets - Cookies and Cream with marshmallow sauce variety on our upcoming trip. This place will offer you some amazing beignets! It's a very small location that is right next to the main entrance of the hotel. Truly a delicious snack! You can visit this place by taking a boat from Disney springs, by bus to the hotel, or in a car. Since it is right in the front of the hotel it makes it very easy to get in and out of quickly. The only downside to this location, they are very popular and do not have enough seating. Now you can take the food and go to a bench somewhere else. This is such a fun place with live jazz on the weekends. We live locally come here to catch the band play. The drinks are good and the boozy beignets are tasty. Our most recent visit was doing a Haunted Mansion promotion with "playful spirits" margaritas and " ghoulish" beignets. The margarita was ok but the beignets were a hit. Three stars for the food and service. One star for what they call "beignets." More on that later. The lounge opens at 5p so it was perfect for some dinner. We ordered the bayou wings and the trio of sliders. Bayou wings were delicious...nice touch with the seasoned fries on the side. The trio of sliders were surprisingly good. It's not your typical beef sliders. One of them was fried green tomatoes, one was fried pickle with fish cake. It tastes muchhhh better than you'd think. Service was attentive and our sweet waitress kept our drinks full and plenty of napkins & condiments which were brought to us in a timely manner. Now the disappointing part of this dining experience. We heard so much about the beignets here and it can ONLY be found here at Port Orleans French Quarter. Nowhere else in WDW property. I'm a west coast girl...grew up with Disneyland so I know my beignets from our New Orleans Square Mint Julep bar. I've also been to New Orleans, LA. Now these here at Scat's Cat Lounge are NOT beignets. What a disappointment when I bit into one only having the consistency and density of a freakin plain ol donut. Ugh....waste of calories. In the Disney Port Orleans Resort, you'll find this amazing beignet stand. So many choices, and they serve beverages too. There's seating in the cafe, outside, in the food court or in the lobby! The lines are managed well, and food is made to serve fresh. We are staying at Saratoga Springs resort and took the convenient sassagoula river boat over to the French quarter. Scat Cat is only open in the evening, around 5pm. They also only have a few tables inside and a couple of lounge chairs. Scat Cat's Club is a jazz lounge with a band singing all different songs. You feel like you are in a jazz club in New Orleans square. They offer unique cocktails and appetizers. Scat Cat's Club is located at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. We were staying at the next-door resort- Riverside- so we were able to easily hope over. We really enjoyed this club so I'm hoping we can go to the resort in the evening and security would let us through. Disney has become really Strick with parking at the resort without a reservation, so fingers crossed. Your other options are parking at Disney Springs and taking a bus over which is free or taking an Uber, if security does not let you through. We had 5 people with us and it was very hard for us to sit. The tables are extremely small and if everyone is ordering food and drinks there is no space. For cocktails my wife and a friend ordered the Chocolate Martini made with Mozart. They loved it and would order it again. My sister-in-law ordered a classic Cosmopolitan. Very good! A friend and I ordered the Old Fashion. We like to think of ourselves as a connoisseur and these were really good. They have a variety of appetizers, and we ordered a couple different ones. My wife and sister-in-law ordered the Mardi gras fritters- house made pimento cheese fritters with pepper jelly. These were pretty good. The first fritter the pimento had completely fallen out. She also said they were cold, but the flavor was there. If they were hot this would have been a really great dish. Our friends ordered the Bayou wings which were smoked chicken tossed in a sweet and sour BBQ sauce served with Cajun fries. These were very tasty, and the fries were very good as well with a nice little kick. We also ordered a side of the kettle chips which had a nice seasoning on them. I wanted to try to the sassy sassagoula sliders which was a trio of sliders- fried green tomatoes with pepper jelly, BBQ Jack Fruit with slaw and fried pickles and a "fish" cake with spicy remoulade and arugula. This was actually a plant-based dish and was absolutely delicious. I would order them again. They do have two different types of beignets, one savory and one with liquor inside. I think this place needs some regular beignets. I feel that is missing. They do sell them next door, but there are many signs that state no outside food can be brought in. For that, I believe they should sell normal ones with just powdered sugar. All in all, this is a really great "night club" jazz bar. The music was great, the food really good, the drinks fantastic. We will definitely be trying to come back here for a night out. You do not have to be staying there to go, just be prepared on a busy night you might not be able to grab a seat.
