While fast forward to a few years later, when I became a serious golfer and went in the place. It is a lesson, practice, and golfsmith shop all in one. I have been taking lessons there for three years and love the place. It is clean and tries to stay up to date with technology and always have the latest equipment and services available for you. This place is a godsend during winter. I play around 60-70 rounds in the summer so when it gets cold and I can't play I start getting stir crazy. I go here at least once a week during the winter to practice in their simulator and "play" courses and take lessons. This helps keep the swing going through the winter and makes sure I come out firing. Anyone looking for lessons or to find a place besides the domes to hit balls definitely try it out.

We became members right before our wedding and have absolutely loved it ever since. The staff is very nice and friendly and the members are also very chill. Its very easy to become friends with other members. Its the perfect club to join if youre not into the snobby rich people, these people are just rich and nice. You can't beat it. Young and old all are welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our snow tramping hike! (But Dretzka is somewhat devoid of paved trails for hiking so take note). Dretzka IS home to some of the best frisbee golf in the MKE County Parks system- and we saw small squads taking part in the well-documented frisbee golf course. It's also home to a golf golf course, complete with a golf house, so tee up! The remnants of a past toboggan hill is here- and my parents remembered tobogganning down an icy ramp, so take note sledders and xx skiiers if you're looking for a larger hill to schuss down! Acres of snow in the winter, acres of green in the summer- Dretzka is top notch.

The fitter agreed with literally everything I said, provided zero additional useful information on other gear or how it could fit into my game. I was then forced to get additional services (puring - aka snake oil) on my irons despite my requesting not to have that done. I got charged double the material cost of the clubs I purchased ($800 for 2 new volkeys). They quoted me $1400 to "pure" and install 7 dynamic golds. I walked out of there and got them online for $320 and paid my local muni $200 to install and swing weight them. To put the cherry on top, my fitter sprinted through the quote package, which almost led me to overpay even more. TLDR: I walked in, got told I was right about everything, then was charged double to 3X retail price for components.

Milwaukee Country Club is a private club offering golf, tennis, dining, etc. My review is about…read morethe golf course. Being a private club, there are only a few ways to golf here. First, be a member. I have no idea how you do that - I think they just find you if they want you. Or, be a guest - if someone invites you, by golly take it! You can also bid on a silent auction or something - rounds like this don't come around often! With Milwaukee Country Club, you've either heard of it (and know its reputation), or you've never heard of it. Those "in the know" will tell you all about it and revel in it's perfection. Most golf publications rank this course #2 or #3 in Wisconsin, only behind Whistling Straits and maybe Erin Hills. And they're not wrong. The same publications consistently rank it in the top 100 courses in America - usually around #70. Very impressive. But how IS the course, you ask? Milwaukee Country Club is a well-written novel with 18 interesting, developed characters - each pivotal to the plot. In other words, this course is absolutely exquisite. Everything is exactly where it should be - every shrub, tree, bench, bunker, etc. - it's right where it needs to be. This course is over 100 years old, and over that time, things have been figured out. Boring holes? None here - each hole is memorable and interesting. And don't look for any signs telling you which tee box you're on, or markers in the fairway showing yardage (like, white or red yardage stakes). It's clean, baby... all natural, no visual pollution. Bring your GPS. Also, this course is made to walk - no problems walking it compared to other courses. The bunkers are strategically placed - each one making you think and rethink your next shot. You don't want to be stuck there, as they often have steep walls you may not be able to clear. One thing I've noticed playing other courses since then - the attention to detail *everywhere* on the course is the real difference. If you're in the rough - you get the same rough wherever you are. There's no bare spots or dead patches here. No sir. Greens are impeccable - mowed daily during the summer. They may not be "pool table fast", but they'll give you a steady, consistent feel that carries from hole to hole. I loved them. The back 9 jumps over the Milwaukee River and back, giving you great views. Both the front and back nines finish with holes coming toward the sprawling clubhouse, creating a "I feel like a professional wrapping up my round" feeling. Like I said, if you get a chance to golf here, don't be a fool and pass it up. Take it - you may never have another chance. If you're a member, well, congratulations (and feel free to hit me up to be your guest - any time). Otherwise, this is the course that golf lovers only dream about.
