Sneaky, unethical billing practices. Hit me with a surprise $347 bill…read more I received penicillin allergy testing. When I asked the office staff, they reassured me that they were in network with my insurance, and not to worry. A few weeks later, I received a bill for $347. I called the billing department thinking this was a mistake, as this is 3 times higher than the average price for this test, but they informed me that they charge the maximum amount allowed by state regulations and that I should have thought to ask them for an estimate. I told the billing representative that the office staff made it sound like this would be covered by insurance, and she stated "well, that's too bad." The only discount they offer is 10%, IF you pay the bill completely in full. They outright refused to negotiate the price any further, even when I explained that this bill was causing a HUGE financial burden. Please AVOID THIS PRACTICE UNLESS YOU WANT PAY RIDICULOUSLY HIGH SURPRISE BILLS.

Honestly prior to the most recent visit and the billing that ensued I would've given this practice…read morea 4 star rating. Everyone is always incredibly friendly the only issue I've ever had was the wait times you can run into at the Edgewood location but that is to be expected. During my most recent routine visit for a cleaning of both ears, per usual, my doctor made the observation that one of my ears had a cyst on the ear drum. He recommended that I schedule a subsequent appointment for a draining procedure as he didn't have the necessary tools at the current appointment. He then proceeded on with cleaning out the ear he observed the cyst and I went in my way. Upon receiving my bill for the standard services I had received I noticed an additional nearly $170 over the regular price I pay for the twice yearly cleanings I receive. I inquired with the billing department and they inquired with my doctor. He affirmed the charges siting that an additional diagnosis was made. Now had I requested for him to attend to an issue I was not scheduled for, or even to look at an ear he wouldn't have normally been looking at I could try to wrap my head around this. But the idea that he thinks it's appropriate to tack on an extra $170 for noticing something in an ear he was ALREADY LOOKING AT, is laughable. I understand that "Bill 'em for whatever you can," is the current medical mentality, but this will be the last time they bill me. **After going round and round and having the engage the help of some outside influences I was finally able to get my bill correctly. Most likely still won't return as I would not have gotten a resolution without the outside help**

The entire team is very personable and proactive in explaining what we should expect. Day of the procedure, we were promptly seen and processed so our son could get the relief he so badly needed. Not even a week later, I have my son back! He is eating better than he ever has, began teaching developmental milestones he was previously delayed with due to discomfort and just the happiest guy. Everyone that was involved in my sons case later signed and sent us a thank you card! I am recommending this office to all my friends struggling with ear infections and allergies in the future!

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with health care. From the allergy testing, to…read morethe surgery I had, then to being billed for an error the billing department would not take action to resolve with the insurance company. When I went to get allergy testing, when the doctor ordered the tests, I told her that I was having allergic reactions and we discussed that it was possible the testing would fail because of that. Though there were no other patients waiting, two women came in and rushed through the testing. Turns out the testing failed, but they would not slow down. Then I was able to be squeezed in for a surgery. The nurse at the surgical center got too busy and I was taken back to have surgery before the pre surgery medicine kicked in. So I had to do the surgery fully awake and aware of what was going on. The doctor was so rushed that I just had to power through a nose procedure. I was crying, so I eventually was given a wash cloth to put over my eyes so I didn't have to watch the surgery. Then the same surgical center didn't call me, but someone else to check on me the next day. I specifically asked to have them call me when I was leaving, but they could not honor that simple request. When I went back for a check after the procedure, I think the doctor forgot I was waiting and I was in the appointment room after seeing the nurse for an hour before the doctor had time to come check on me. Finally, I assumed the billing would be a simple request to the insurance. The billing office sent the bill with an incorrect code. I asked them to submit an appeal with the correct coding, but the billing department incorrectly submitted the appeal. Rather than resubmitting the appeal with the insurance company (who said they would cover the procedure) the billing office started calling me and sending me communications that I was financially responsible for the procedure. I even got communication that my bill was late. Rather than working with the insurance company, the billing department kept sending me a copy of a form I submitted that IF the insurance was not willing to cover the procedure (which I was told multiple times the insurance company WOULD COVER THE PROCEDURE) than I would pay the bill. The insurance company was willing and able to pay, if they would have just filled out the paperwork correctly. This practice is not able to handle simple patient care to confirm if someone will be awake during surgery because they are busy filing paperwork. They are not able to handle insurance billing, and cannot handle simple requests.
